Sugar Land hardly qualifies as an "affluent" community. It's a typical middle-class suburb like you'll find on the outskirts of any major city. Miles of strip malls and sprawling subdivisions lined with cookie-cutter houses. Looked up this property. Asking price, 9.9 million; 20k a month in property taxes, 4k a month for insurance. If you finance it with 30% down, it will be 38k a month payments on a 30 year note.

Certainly an impressive joint. I don't know what anyone would actually do with it. Just walking from room to room would be exhausting. Maybe I am strange but I imagine walking down all those stairs and then realizing I left my wallet in the bedroom.
Looks more like a hotel, .... we will need at least 5 house keepers and 1 chef to stay in to run this place smoothly. The kitchen is the best kitchen layout materials I've seen... yummy.

Maintenance able things are easy to love and enjoy in this life. Else, like from a far.
I've always liked the size of these type of homes, BUT what I don't like is the interior design. What I mean by that is developers who build homes like this all over the United States always put their own personal taste and style to it, and not a blank slate for a buyer to create their own style like you would see in cookie cutter homes. Which means whoever purchases this home can only buy one style of furniture and accessories that goes with the interior design and nothing else or it will clash with the look. I'm not into cookie cutter style homes even the really big ones, but at least with those you have the option to go inside and create your own style with the interior design and not have to remodel the entire home for it to look right. Point is it's basically like someone writing their signature on the wall that cannot be removed unless you spend hundreds of thousands to do so.
