It haunts me to think that people believe skinwalkers and wendigos exist only in Native American places like if these creatures don’t be lurking all over the world with different names but are part of the same species
They most definitely exist beyond Native American territory. In fact, I only started listening to Darkness this year, and have only since learned of the wendigo and skinwalker. But believe me, they are pretty much the same scary monsters that my parents and grandparents have always told stories of. The only real differences are, ours takes form of a diff animal, and we are from Asia.
I do not currently agree with that. I think there is a definite cultural element and tulpa element to these entities. It seems to me that somehow or another they are dependent upon the collective consciousness and belief system of the people. Perhaps they are literally projected tulpas made manifest. That's why you never hear of them in cultures that are very different from what we can call their origin culture. Look at the ghouls and demons of Japanese culture, such as Yōkai and so many others. And look at all the freakish Ghouls and demons of Filipino culture, which all suspiciously seem to have a common thread of stealing or killing infants..... which is therefore never the mother's fault. You don't see anything like them in Norwegian, Lithuanian, Kuwaiti, or Peruvian folklore. I think that's because they are actually mind-dependent entities, and those thoughts are not adequately present in the other cultures to manifest or sustain them. Of course I could be completely wrong. But I am completely fine with being completely wrong. Nobody truly knows anyway. Everybody is speculating. Some people are just more adamant about their speculations than others. It would be great to solve these mysteries, but I think such things belong to the realm of mystery and are not ever actually solved.
@@brotherowl I suggest you deep dive into Latin America rural stories of creatures upon there, I have some YT Channels I can suggest but they’re in Spanish, “relatos de horror la criatura del río” and their videos will give you insight of the vast majority of creatures like this that are everywhere. Moreover, tulpas definitely exist everywhere but that is a whole different type of branch to dig out of.
Love these videos for work, but I hate when the authors of these stories try and describe a firearm and just blatantly have no idea what they’re talking about. Really pulls me out of it. “Bolt action sniper rifle, equipped with a thermal scope” is not something anybody who’s a hunter in Alabama would say. Let’s not forget perfectly describing all the grim details of this creature in the “pitch black”. Mentions he had a thermal scope, but thermals don’t show features, let alone colors of them, and that’s foregoing the fact he said it gave off no body heat. So it wouldn’t show up in the thermal. Finally, “I opened my eyes to see the bullet bounce off the things head and land on the forest floor” No, you did not see a small projectile fall to the forest floor when that projectile moves several thousand feet per second and you’re 20 meters away. You would’ve had to open your eyes and find the scope again then find the creature that doesn’t show up on thermal In the pitch black. That whole story just irks me.
Just want to say something about the not deer story. Both this one and the previous. The story says when they unholster their handgun, which they said was a glock both times they flicked off the safety. Glocks dont have a safety switch like that.
God damn it. Learn about guns before you write about them. There's no safety to "flick off" on a glock. You kids need some real life experience before you call yourself an adult
bro I love your content and I've been watching you for so many years, but I hate to say it but it sounds like your narration voice getting too positive and happy. I'm not trying to be that guy but it sounds like I'm listening to someone telling a children's story, it takes all the scariness out of it

53:37 I'm calling bullcrap! Armadillos are dumb as hell and practically blind! I have walked up to armadillos and they'll just keep doing their thing until I shout "oy! go on get!" and give a tap with my toe before they run off. Any story where the writer starts with "i am from this and this county with this and this heritage" No... No... You are american. Nowhere else people feel like they have to specify their whole family tree.
Some people must never have realized the importance of learning EARLY in lower grade schools how to write complete sentences! Some of these commentators simply make No sense at all in their Below fifth grade writing! It just baffles me, and aggravates me to no end 👎

It’s called hunting. And is far more humane than buying packaged meat from cruel farms, way less pain, if ANY for the animal if you know what you’re doing, and on top of it, in a technical sense for someone who already has gear, the meat, hides, and bones are completely free. Months of supply that would cost hundreds if not thousands depending on the animal. And also, population control is what keeps the ecosystem steady and proper. A lack of proper keeping, coyotes and feral hogs for example, destroy the ecosystem terribly. Which is why in many states, mine included, hogs and coyotes are year round, no bag limit, no regulation hunting for both these species. Many places actually have hefty bounty for hogs, and some places pay a certain amount of money per coyote head.

That Wendigo really had joy on killing the Mother bear and that cub boy the rage!!! I’m feeling berserk
Thank you for the wonderful stories! Your time is appreciated.
Awesome stories and thumbnail as always, thanks a lot for the upload Darkness!😁
I remember the first story about the not deer/wendigo or whatever it is. Nice to know the guy hasn't learned a thing from his last encounter 😂
