    Hi Jen! Im so happy to see you on youtube! It's nice to see you for longer than 15 seconds haha. I have a few questions: you mentioned you do rice or potatoes for quick absorption post workout, but I thought complex carbs took longer to absorb (thats why they're "complex")? Also you mentioned fruit preworkout to sustain you, but I thought fruit was simple carbs, so they would absorb faster? There's so much info out there I'm just a little confused. Thanks for your help! xo

    Hi so I always use a prewotkout because I can't digest food fast enough. Some times I eat half of a banana with some almond butter about an hour before and I will still be feeling like the food wants to come up. Any suggestion?

    • @luxuryfitmeg
      @luxuryfitmeg 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A pre workout meal is different for everyone, because sometimes people do digest food a little slower. If you can, try eating that meal 2 hours before you workout and see how you feel. :) You're body can only do one thing at a time, digest your food, or exercise, so chances are you're having digestive problems because it's trying to choose to do one or the other. Hope this helps.:)

    You're amazing! I do have a question about complex carbs do you eat any whole grains? Or do most of your carbs come from fruits and veggies. I have had the hardest times accepting carbs even tho I know they're essintial 😬

    Hello Jen,
    I know you have probably been asked this question multiple times but I can't seem to find the answer in any of your videos or comments. I wake up at 4:30am to work out (Only time available) and I am unsure of what pre-workout would be best. I usually have a banana and BCAA but I am afraid it is not enough carbs. What would you recommend for someone who has to work out in the AM and doesn't have time to eat and digest a meal? I apologize if you already answered this question. lol. Thanks!!

      she uses karbolyn alot. its like liqyid carbs. another option i LOVE blending oats in smoothies. so like.. super basic one. 1.1oz old fashioned oats, 1 banana, 6oz milk. lately ive been adding berries and greens. i also like overnight oats. ill do 4oz milk, 4oz greek yogurt, 1.1oz oats (more or less sometimes) and whatever fruit and nuts i feel like. mix them all together and leave in the fridge over night or mix them on the am and let them sit all dya if im doing a pm workout. so you can prep your over night oats before bed and theyll be ready when you need to eat them early in the morning so you dont waste any precious sleep. there are TONZ of recipes for overnight oats on pinterest.

    I work out really late at night so I don't like eating right after as I go to bed about an hour after the gym. I don't want it to sit in my stomach and be stored as fat. What do you think is good for post workout late at night?

    • @dream.catcher3613
      @dream.catcher3613 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i do the same. and honestly ive been drinking my 1 protein shake a day. im a HUGE ice cream fan so my gormet vanilla protein shake takes the place of it. ill mix n it and put it in the freexlzer pre workout and then after i eat it with a spoon and its so so yummy. ill blend strawberries or whatever in it. i use the pescience select protein. its a casein whey blend so you get slow and fast absorbing proteins. recently she posted a video (or maybe i jusylt recently saw) with her eating a steak right before bed saying that its good because its slow absorbtion. but in alot of her videos she says it really doesnt matter what time you eat. eating anything before bed is ok. the fat storage problem really presents itself when your not eating properly throughout the day and then binging at night. thats when your body stores it all as fat. im no expert i just am obsessed with her videos and education and my protein shakes at night have been working out well for me. with upping my cals and carbs, customizing my macros and consuming 80-90% whole foods ive seen TREMENDOUS results. the scale hasnt changed much but my physique clearly has.

    I do my workout first thing in the morning, like 5am. I've been eating a piece of sprouted bread with a tbsp of PB on it before I leave the house and then I add Karbolyn and bcaa's to my water bottle for my workout. Immediately after my workout on the drive home I'm drinking a whey protein shake. Do u feel like that is enough or should i give my body more food before I leave the house?

    • @luxuryfitmeg

      +Justine Monroe you can do a smoothie. Something like a scoop of Protein, oatmeal, and spinach. If you're waking up that early, you can also do intermediate fasting and just sip on BCAA's.

    • @justineteurman108
      @justineteurman108 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is white rice good .

    • @courtneyquevedo4918
      @courtneyquevedo4918 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      White rice and brown rice essentially have the same nutrients the only difference is brown rice still has the shell on so it takes you longer to digest so it keeps your blood sugar steady and keeps you full longer. So you would want to do white rice AFTER a workout because your body needs it quick.
