Great video Shinoo. Mine only has 76K kms here in NZ. Garaged all the time but spiritly driven every week. It's a constant thing to keep her looking great and performing.

Regular driving is one sure way to keep her running nicely! I still need to visit your fine country one day...

Yeah I remember people telling me not to use Armourall because it dries your dash out... lol

I am a huge fan of PERL from CarPro. SiO based and keeps the plastic bits looking great inside and out.

As a new ´03 S2 111S owner I´m stoked to begin my journey of maintaining it over the next decades. I´m curious about the spherical bearings in place of the stock bushings. It looks like you went with them. How do they compare in terms of performance and ride quality?
Love your content btw, you so get the essence of the Elise, look forward to more from you in the future!

Thanks for your comments! Yes, we really love these cars. The spherical bearings are an excellent alternative - there is no noise, vibration or harshness penalty. BUT they are spherical bearings so they may wear out sooner than rubber bushes. Honestly, we have not had many problems with them so they are lasting. Of course, most owners are NOT putting too many miles onto their Lotus...

Great tips on the basics like brakes, bushings & the radiator. Curious to know if you have similar tips about refreshing the engine, drivetrain and shifter?
This is exactly where I am right now. Just picked up a 2008 Elise S with 80k miles on it. I definitely want to refresh the car but it's hard to know where to begin, and a challenge to stay focused on refreshing it area by area systematically instead of spraying money all over the place and not doing any one area right. Do you guys have any particular order you like to follow when doing refresh projects? Thanks for the vids and what you do.

Dont hesitate to call to chat. I always suggest you address the areas that could leave you stranded. Your shift cables and the blue picot ball in your shifter are known weak areas. Have a peek at those first.

Is there a way to remove medium light scratches on the internal aluminium framework? The scratches have gone black where they have gone through the protection layer.

We don't have a great method but a new red Scotchbrite pad can help. The surface finish is difficult to match

Shinoo- Lots of Elise / Extige owners experience moisture in the headlights. Any advice for that?
