Al Faransi's 'milky' color bespeaks the natural ingredients in there - there are several types of lavender flower, one of which the oils thereof are unusually, definitely milky in color.

I'm not a woman, but I watched this to get some information about the different perfume houses. And I like your videos.
I ordered attars from the house of Al-Muhib in France. I have not tried them all yet, since I ordered quite many. But I'm really happy with the quality and the scent. I'm not an expert, not even a beginner, so I have no idea how they are compared to others. But since you mention a soapiness and an off-smell in the beginning of some of the cheapest ones, I can tell that I can't get any of those notes from the ones from Al-Muhib.
As not even a beginner, I would say that the perfumes he makes is sofisticated, very well blended and balanced and oriental but also easy to wear.
I have sniffed all of them from the dipstick, and I liked them all, actually. But they do smell different once on the skin. The one I thought I would like the most, I actually did not like very much. But some that I ordered just out of curiosity, became my favorites so far.
The one that I find totally stunning is Leather Osmanli. That one is really something, and gave me compliments too. I can not pinpoint a single note, so I can not describe the scent other than I find it very sofisticated and extremely attractive. And it is an affordable attar (almost $12 for 4ml).
The other one is Oud Mokaya. That is supposed to be a chocolate oud scent. That one is really something as well. Very oriental and very nice. And I find it sofisticated.
I really like his amber, called Amber Aswad. I have never tried an amber perfume before, so I had no idea what to expect. But I think it is stunning, and have found out now that I love amber! I have read that amber scents often smell sweet amber with vanilla. And Amber Aswad is just that. Very comforting and warm. But I guess it is not very niche or avantgarde, just simple comforting amber with a Coca-Cola vibe.
I love Balsam Al-Muhib as well. It is balsamic, of course. And it fills the room with a lovely aroma. I have no idea how to describe it more than that, since I can't pinpoint a single note of anything. Maybe the leather from Leather Osmanli, but that's it. I can't even smell the chocolate from Oud Mokaya. Maybe I have to learn to pinpoint notes.
Al-Muhib's perfumes are hidden gems. They do not exist on Fragrantica, for example. Not on TH-cam either. But boy do they smell good! And the bottles look stunning! So I am more than satisfied. And it did not cost me too much either. When that's said, I did not like one of those I have tried so far. And another was okey, but not stunning. But I have more to go, since I ordered 10 4ml bottles and 6 samples. More than I needed, but.
What I have found out for sure, is that I like middle eastern attars 1000 times better than western perfumes. First of all, you never get that horrible smell after 30 minutes, like the cheapes old man cologne you can find, or worse. I get that from maybe 7 out of 10 western spray perfumes. So I can never ever buy without trying first, and let it sit on the skin for at least 30 minutes. But attars I can blind buy and just use immediately. Plus, they do not have that horrible atomic blast you get in the beginning from western perfumes, which choke both yourself and everybody else. I really hate that blast of alcohol mixed with synthetics. So for me, attars are the way to go.
And, a very important point is that I like basenotes the very best. Attars give me a feeling of immediately basenote heaven. Western sprays is all about a ton of topnotes, which I hate. And it is citrus in everything, which I don't like, and aldehydes, which I really hate. Oriental attars can provide deep and dark, mysterious basenotes. So of course I love them! Here in the cold north, we need the warmth from oriental scents.
I really have to try some more attars from other houses. But for now I have enough. But ASQ and Al Faransi is on my list of ones to order from next. Plus that I am curious of many of the other attars from Al-Muhib. So I will order more from him as well.
Thank you for this video, it was very informative, even for a guy. Keep up the good work!

It does not take ages to type, I worked as a secretary for many years, so I type fast :-D
I tried one scent yesterday, California Sunshine from Al-Muhib. And a strange thing happened. It did smell strange, just the way the spray perfumes smell. I thought oil perfumes did not have that off-smell. But it did. So it must be an aroma chemical, and has nothing to do with if it is in oil or alcohol. But that aroma chemical is not used in oriental perfumes, at least not the ones I have tried. Maybe I must buy a sample of this perfume called Molecule 1 or something like that. It is supposed to be 100% Iso E Super. Then I can find out if that is the substance making that horrible scent. By the way, I absolutely can't stand aquatic notes. Like that horrible Davidoff Cool Water.
Yes, I'm sure Roja Dove and that sorts are way better than the mainstream alcohol sprays, with way better ingredients. But I can't afford even trying them. If I should try, I had to order online. We don't have well equipped perfume shops here at all.
I was thinking about buying from Al Faransi, but changed my mind and bought from Al-Muhib instead. My sister did not travel to Birmingham either (I planned to send her to the shop to buy some surprises). But of course, I can buy online. His prices are very affordable (I am poor, so that is important just now). I think I will order Al Faransi's Musk Aswad. I am looking at his website now, and I realize that he is very fond of florals (which I don't like too much) and freshness (which I don't care too much about either). But I found some. I guess I overlooked the florals the first time I visited his website and wanted them all. I have sample of a rose oud from Al-Muhib I have to test first to see if I like rose or not. I mean, I like rose in general, but I must test if it is somthing I want in a perfume or not.
Some of Al Faransi's scents are quite expensive. Often those I'm immediately attracted to. One scent is one sale, Mukhallat Sahrawi. It has rose and citrus, but I think it can be great despite citrus and florals. Well, okey, I checked something just now. Today, I wore an attar called Mukhallat Al-Muhib. I totally love it! And that one has bergamot and roses in it, I discovered. So, I guess I don't have to bother about citruses and florals being listed. With florals, I'm also a little concerned it can turn out to be too feminine leaning. I felt that Mukhallat Al-Muhib had a elements of ladies' perfume. I asked my co-worker, if the scent was lady like, and she said: "Are you kidding me? That smells like men's perfume, not feminine at all".
It is something I can smell that reminds me of heavy old lady perfume. I don't know what it is, but I absolutely love that heavy scent! I love it but am afraid people will think I'm wearing a lady perfume, which here would be looked strange upon. I don't think it is the roses. I suspect it is the oud. That element is in some other of his scents. If it is the oud, I doubt it was oud in those heavy perfumes adult or old ladies used many years ago (remember, I have absolutely 0 experience with oud, don't even know how it's supposed to smell). Well, I have no idea. Maybe it is the oriental element, the oriental way of mixing things together. Anyway, I love it, and now I know that it is only I than get a feminine vibe from it. Others don't smell it like that. At least not my co-worker.
I should have bought pure oud from Al-Muhib. I realized when I opened the package, that I had forgot to order it. And that is a shame, because I need to find out what pure oud is all about. I know there are all these geographical varieties. I want to start with a strong hindi, but that is not very wise. So it must be a cambodi to start with, maybe. But I'm attracted to the raw animal thing of the strong hindi, that's for sure. I think I will buy pure oud from Al-Muhib instead of Al Faransi. I really can't find out what is pure dehn al ouds and what is mukhallats. He made it confusing under the tab: "Affordable dehn al oud".
I have now 2 scents in the Al Faransi shopping cart; Musk Aswad and Mukhallat Sahrawi. Do you have something to recommend? I feel like I need 1 scent more, and then it is enough. But don't recommend the most expensive :-D
Since you have sniffed every scent in the world, and since you live in the most colorful and exotic country (that I want to visit some day), the country where every exotic smelling, tasting or looking thing originates from, do you know of a scent that reminds you of this clip from an old indian movie?
      th-cam.com/video/3muMjMT6hSA/w-d-xo.html
I'm looking for a scent like that, like if you were in the middle of that room. By the way, I looove this song. And I don't smoke hashish, or what the english name is. But who can resist the smell of it? But apart from that, I would love a smell reminiscent of that atmosphere, with our without the scent of marijuana. And with rough edges, not smell like it is blended to perfection by a perfectionist perfumer. So I guess it maybe must contain patchouli and incense and some sickly sweet flowers, just as a start. Hopefully mixed with the smell of pollution, gasoline and motor oil, to really rough it up. Don't you have scents like that in India? And where can I buy a bottle?
I love this song too, from Disco Dancer: th-cam.com/video/3muMjMT6hSA/w-d-xo.html

    Hi,
I am following your videos from couple of days. Last week I went Dubai and brought three oud from house of Swiss Arabian and these are NOORA,Rasheeqa,MAYSOON perfume oil. Please let me know is it right buy or not. I spent 40, 60,65 AED for these. I am new in oud and attar world. Suggest me some good feminine oud which are affordable price. Also share the link so I can buy them.

What would you reccomend if I`m looking for perfumes with sandal wood, vanilla, leather but definatelly without rose ? I`m looking for something that won`t be too sweet, something warm... I gave up on comercial fragrances and got really interested in to oils. I would appreciate If you coul help, cause I believe there is alot of women craving darker fragrances.

      90% the same?! That's a big slap to Oumma's face 😅
Especially when Oumma cost significantly more.
If you don't mind me asking, did you get Oumma for a very good deal?
