Nope! Afraid of heights enough that my friends notice how much I slow down on exposed trails. It's also keeping me away from some bucket-list destinations (Moab comes to mind).
yeh yeh on bikes and snowboards (or skis) i think it's the best. put me on two feet and the slow pace gives me too much time to think about what could go wrong. rock climbing? nah.
Way cool...I was just thinking could you imagine having to bench cut that bastard. Why is it that when I look at the Yeti marketing photos I get the feeling that the riders just finished a 3 michelin star meal and were shuttled in a rolls to the trail head. Whereas when I watch follow cam friday I get the feeling you just made tomato soup outa ketchup packs and beer so you could be closer to the trail. Personally, I like taking extra ketchup packets, tobacco and pepper for trail soup. :)
Was just thinking other day when we will see some vids from Europe and here we go, awesome! What can be more exciting than riding on the edge, gorgeous views, thank you for bringing to me nice memories, stunning riding and breathtaking panoramas, cheers V!
Amazing Riding Nate ! Wow !!!!!! Those are some cool ridge lines super technical rock sections !! Love watching your riding, this is one of the best !!!!! Breathtaking 🤘😎👍🌲🌲 🚵🌲 🌲🌲
Looks like you pick just the right place to "test" the new ride 😜 Sick views, delicious alpine trails, and some sketch moves. Nailed it Happy Trail for sure 👊
Hi Nate, I saw you enjoyed the Belgian beer Leffe 🙂 Good thing they sell it in the US too. cool video! I need to look at your build bevause I can’t still figure out to buy the Sb130 or Sb150. I’m afraid I would bottom out on 6’ drops.
Saw the build video.. mad trail to christen the bike on. I saw looking at those rocks and thinking, damn I hope you have some emergency tubes! Have you ever run any of those cush core type things?
Just awesome views. Love it. I wish there was a butt-puckered emoji to fully demonstrate my feelings from watching the riding on the knife edges. I can only imagine it while actually riding that.
Beautiful trail/rocky goat path! Pretty sure I would have been hiking quite a bit of that. Good thing you live at those lofty altitudes huh! How was the 130? Looks like it is the perfect bike for that trail.
100x worse. Only exposure we have here in FL is sometimes if you go off trail, you end up in a gator filled swamp. LoL I like the gator odds better than falling off of the balcony line!
GoPro effect normally has steep gnarly trails looking like your local backyard blue squares. Taking that into consideration this video looked insane!!!
Crazy landscape ! Probably my next destination aha! Hope the bike feel great compare to the 5.5 ! For you which bike is the most similar to the 5.5, sb130 or sb150 ?
great vid Nate.... I'd be interested to see how you pack your bike for an overseas trip (what bike bag you use etc) maybe a little fill in vid whilst quaffing some tequila :-)) cheers!
Hi Nate ; its Drew again, i was asking you before on your choice of SB 130 on your bike build over the 150 ! On this occasion having watched your amazing ride with Francesco did you find the new 44 offset fork rather than the old 51 much better for those tight switch backs !!
That looked like a BLAST...especially the rock lines! That "low line" that was super sketchy, and it just got worse as you rode it down it....cringe worthy. When I ride things like that, I always find myself thinking back to the last time I was blitzing down a trail, and clipped a pedal...and went full yard sale, with absolutely no control over where the bike or I was going to end up. There were only about two places on Porcupine Rim and one on Capt. Ahab that really bothered me, and it was for that reason. Sometimes...things just happen, and those consequences are a little high for my pay grade (which is self sponsored with me paying for everything).
I am a big fan of the new geometry on the 130. It feels quite different from 55. Longer, stable, but more nimble somehow. The steep seat angle makes it a pleasure to pedal uphill.
@@natehills9388 would you pick this one over your 5.5? Trying to decide what bike to choose. I just love getting rowdy on the downs as much as I like a good pedaling bike. I come from a downhill background but I'm not doing anything crazy. At the very most I'll do flow drop at mammoth.
Do you guys like exposure? Yeh nah??
Nope! Afraid of heights enough that my friends notice how much I slow down on exposed trails. It's also keeping me away from some bucket-list destinations (Moab comes to mind).
yeh yeh on bikes and snowboards (or skis) i think it's the best. put me on two feet and the slow pace gives me too much time to think about what could go wrong. rock climbing? nah.
I don't like clowns..... Heights, NBD
Exposure... Hell yeah 🤘 Alpine style, Portal trail style, and f-stop style. They all make me happy!!
Way cool...I was just thinking could you imagine having to bench cut that bastard.
Why is it that when I look at the Yeti marketing photos I get the feeling that the riders just finished a 3 michelin star meal and were shuttled in a rolls to the trail head. I'd probably get caught staring at the mountains and fall to my death. Incredible scenery. Great video.
Story of my life
That is ONE COOL TRAIL! Perfectly timed chopper flyover....and watch out for the derailleur!!!
Pretty surreal having that thing buzzing us. The camera followed that thing nicely through the switchback.
nice showcase for the sb130, handles the chunky. exposure is the price for those awesome views. dig it.
Beautiful scenery!! Can’t wait for another Alps trip myself...
Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to some more footage!
With scenery like that, how the hell do you keep your eyes on the trail? There is nothing like the Alps!!!!
The Heli was sick!!!
*slightly distracted.
no window for error. you have to stay focus
this is beyond epic dude!
Cheers Bobo, you would be stoked on the riding over there.
Just got back from riding the Alps a couple of weeks ago. Counting the days until I get out there again.
Coolest trail ever! Great footage!
From Brazil always enjoying your videos
One of the best routes I’ve seen for a long time.👍👍
Gotta love those mountainside BnBs. Freakin’ unreal, man. Way to send it!
Totally. Hardly roughing it in the Alps. You can get espresso almost anywhere, haha.
Awesome scenery ... and some pretry technical riding :) 👌👏👍
Great exposure and amazing trails.
Beautiful ride. Compliments
Good god Nate, that was some incredible scenery! And that rock garden, DAMN! Unbelievable episode!
Thanks Kevin.
Wow, that was some scenic shiz right there. Beautiful!!
Awesome vistas! scary trail! Great video, Nate! thanks
Cheers Jeff, enjoy the weekend.
Was just thinking other day when we will see some vids from Europe and here we go, awesome! What can be more exciting than riding on the edge, gorgeous views, thank you for bringing to me nice memories, stunning riding and breathtaking panoramas, cheers V!
We had an amazing trip!
Amazing Riding Nate ! Wow !!!!!! Those are some cool ridge lines super technical rock sections !! Love watching your riding, this is one of the best !!!!! Breathtaking 🤘😎👍🌲🌲 🚵🌲 🌲🌲
Thanks for watching Andrew!
Oh shh that was ridiculous. So awesome!
Amazing place to test it. Epic views for days. One of the best mtb TH-camr for sure. Thanks for keeping me dreaming and riding.
You nailed it buddy! Have fun, shred and silence those little voices of internal dissent with some pints of good beer. Keep em coming
Really cool ride. Nice epic scenery to warm her up on. Enjoy Europe brother.
Dang, the Alps have some serious jank-gnar! That ridge looked so fun! Nice line on the balcony! No way I'd try that with my 800mm bars.
Awesome trails, great video, top level riders!
Finally I can see you here in Italy, my homeland 🤘
This is France, but stay tuned. Italy is coming!
Greatest ride yet bro, that was awesome💪👍👊 have a great trip.
Cheers Camo Dude!
Awesome vid and great riding.
Yeh, sort of. That was some serious exposure!
Perfect for a plus or fat, great scenery
Please do more video on exposure ride Nate
Very Euro indeed, so sick!
wowww beatifull trail!!
I love this so much! I think you guys are so friggin cool to be able to do this.
Thanks Sabrina, we are fortunate.
Looks like you pick just the right place to "test" the new ride 😜
Sick views, delicious alpine trails, and some sketch moves. Nailed it
Happy Trail for sure 👊
Proper testing indeed. Happy trails Russell!
Sick!! Hoping to ride in the Alps in the future!!
That was great! Almost sensory overload! I winced hard, twice!
That looked like a proper smashing ground to test the bike on. Seems like it handled it just fine👍🏼
Perfect testing ground. I was stoked.
Now that's a proper test ride on the ole 130
Amazing place!
Great Nate! very good.
Good heavens, that’s some technical shit there at the end
Surreal trail
Hi Nate, I saw you enjoyed the Belgian beer Leffe 🙂 Good thing they sell it in the US too. cool video! I need to look at your build bevause I can’t still figure out to buy the Sb130 or Sb150. I’m afraid I would bottom out on 6’ drops.
A good Belgian beer to top it off! 😀
I dig those yeti gloves!
19 appeal sneak peak.
Saw the build video.. mad trail to christen the bike on. I saw looking at those rocks and thinking, damn I hope you have some emergency tubes! Have you ever run any of those cush core type things?
No inserts for this guy. Somehow I rode a few hundred miles in the last 2 weeks without flatting. DD in the rear, Exo out front. Both 2.5 Minnion DHF
saludos desde Venezuela amigo, Que bonito paseo .....
Saludos amigo.
Balcony line had me at full pucker
Nice video, nice camera
Hell f--king yeah
Nate, how does the SB130 compare to SB4.5 in slow chunky sections? Oh and that balcony... crazy!
A bit more confidence inspiring in the chunk than my 45 was.
Are you joking my ass? How did you not fall off the mountain just staring at those views!
*moderately distracting.
Just awesome views. Love it. I wish there was a butt-puckered emoji to fully demonstrate my feelings from watching the riding on the knife edges. I can only imagine it while actually riding that.
!!! WOW !!!.... that's the trail that I need... are there a lot of spots where you have to carry your bike or could you ride almost everything?
Everything on the ridge was 100p rideable. The lower rock chunk had some incredibly hard sections but could probably be cleaned with some ninja skill.
hahahah, yeaah man, ninja skills could always be needed. Looks so nice with that massive view and that big rock trails... i love it. Enjoy riding!!!
The riding in this one was pretty damn good, but those views....... 100%
Beautiful trail/rocky goat path! Pretty sure I would have been hiking quite a bit of that.
Good thing you live at those lofty altitudes huh! How was the 130? Looks like it is the perfect bike for that trail.
After spending a month in Whistler, I could definitely feel the elevation here. And yes, this is where 130 shines. I was amazed.
Unreal.
Sweet riding ! Are you still in France ? Most of the lifts are shut for bikes now
Back at home currently. I'll be back.
Balcony line.... yikes!!
Now that, was full sketch.... Way worse than the ridge bit actually.
100x worse. Only exposure we have here in FL is sometimes if you go off trail, you end up in a gator filled swamp. LoL I like the gator odds better than falling off of the balcony line!
I think I would rather fall off a cliff than wrestle a gator.... But that's just me, haha.
GoPro effect normally has steep gnarly trails looking like your local backyard blue squares.
Taking that into consideration this video looked insane!!!
Truth!
Ian Colquhou
Crazy landscape ! Probably my next destination aha! Hope the bike feel great compare to the 5.5 !
For you which bike is the most similar to the 5.5, sb130 or sb150 ?
I haven't ridden 150 yet but the 130 feels every bit as capable as 55 so far.
Sick 😍
What an amazing place to ride, man that ridge made my arse twitch 😱😂
"I got a new bike, where do I test it?" ... thinking ... "The Alps sounds descent." Did I read your mind Nate? Congratulations, sweet ride!
Proper testing ground. Thanks for watching David!
Is this the northern alps? If so I'm there in late August early September 2019 for my vacation. Can't wait!
This is on the classic TMB route near the French / Italian border.
Génial
Nice ride Buddy :)
great vid Nate.... I'd be interested to see how you pack your bike for an overseas trip (what bike bag you use etc) maybe a little fill in vid whilst quaffing some tequila :-)) cheers!
I run an Evoc bag. It's heavy, but well padded. Tequila fits in there too... ha
Good to see you have your priorities in order😎
"sketchy or highline ?" no need to follow the Italian guide, eh ? Great video !
Haha, seeing how neither of us had ridden this trail before, I figured I would roll the dice.
Wow!!
I envy your talent.
belgian beer at the end. I approve
Balls for days🤙
Wow niceee
Hello Nate, the new bike yetti insane Mam,the video os fantastic Nate, show bike, show Montain Trail, thanks my friend 🇧🇷😎🍺
Amazing terrain. Love my new ride!
Dopest dope
Hi Nate ; its Drew again, i was asking you before on your choice of SB 130 on your bike build over the 150 ! On this occasion having watched your amazing ride with Francesco did you find the new 44 offset fork rather than the old 51 much better for those tight switch backs !!
The fork offset makes a huge difference for the overall agility if the bike. Mine iis 42mm and feels rad. Much better in the tight stuff.
I enjoy scaring myself. It gets me out of bed in the morning, haha.
Hi, great vid. I have a sb6c and been lurking around for 29r option...have not tested the 130 yet, do you think It will blow my mind? :)
Maybe 150 is what you are after.... Basically a 6 with big wheels.
Got your own private Mega Avalanche chopper :)
Haha, keeping it super Euro Style.
I felt like the sb130 felt pretty bad on the slow speed rock tech when I tested one
Valeu massa
Insane
Props for flying with Icelandair
I would definitely use them again. Bikes were cheap, good service. I definitely need to ride there one of these days too.
Nate Hills Get in touch with Marky Math, he rode there not too long ago..
Nate, how is the extra length of the sb130 in tighter switchbacks? Thinking this could be by next bike..
Surprisingly nimble actually. Despite being longer than my 55, it seems to turn more easily. The 42mm offset fork has something to do with that.
Riding along a knife's edge.
Nate what size sb130 do you ride? And would a Large be the right fit for me at slightly over 5'11" with shoes on?
I am 5'9" and ride a medium.
Was it loose?
If you have (I dont mean you you ok, just in general lol) why would u get sb130 if u have sb5.5 already?
I am a big fan of the new geometry on the 130. It feels quite different from 55. Longer, stable, but more nimble somehow. The steep seat angle makes it a pleasure to pedal uphill.
Nate Hills ohhh. And im kinda assuming that u think sb150 is too much for u? Despite youre a harkur rider lol
Nah, I will build a 150 as well. 150 is for when things are getting really serious. Almost a DH rig for me.
"headed to Europe to test new bike" Yeah thats what I usually do. lol
Wheww... no French line in that part of France. 🤙
This place is all French lines! Evert singletrack has 15 options, ha.
At the start I was thinking "well hey at least the trail he's riding is smooth..."
Pretty striking how different the next bit was. Full chunk.
How did you get the to the top? Chopper in, or bike up?
We were in the middle of a 5 day, hut to hut, pedal accessed trip.
I love cycling😘😘😘😘 but i can't afford best mountaining cycle😕😕
You don't need the "best" to have fun. Enjoy your ride!!
Ok👍🏻
so how is this compared to your 5.5??? better going up or down?
Better climbing due to the steep seat angle. Similar capabilities on the down.
👍👍👍 👍 👍
I haven’t gone bald that bad since I saw the Exorcist when I was 12.
Which song name at the beginning of the video?
There is a link in my video description. DJ Quads.
