Being from the US, I am a fan of the Trans Am Series, and that's what these Camaros raced in back in the day. I have several of these Pioneer Camaros and Mustangs, and I really enjoy them. They look great and are fun to drive!

Thank you for yet another great review, it was so good that both myself and friend went down to our local slot car centre in Hallam and purchased a few of these pioneer camaro's and pioneer mustangs

Love Pioneer cars. I began buying them as they came out. In the early days of Pioneer, this was a challenge, but I have all the Camaros and Mustangs.

    Nice.
Gotta love this time in racing history both here and in the US. It appears that it can turn right as well which is nice. :-)
    Thanks for the video.

I have a few Pioneer cars. Great cars with great detail. This is a 68 Camaro
Z/28. The 67 Camaro has window vents on the doors and no Z/28 badging. There were 602 Z/28's produced in 1967.

This is a beauty Camaro! Pioneer knows what they’re doing, from the sleeve to the car itself 🙌🏻

Yes, Travis, I think you are objectively and positively honest in what you do here and this, no doubt, is a product of your enthusiasm for this nice little hobby. Whereas others focus on tweaking and modding, the consistency with you lies in sticking to the OOB experience which firmly passes the benchmark back and into the hands of the product designers and manufacturers in terms of outbidding one another with their fare. I don't have any Pioneer cars myself but this 'Tiger' liveried Camero is one beaut of a slot car and certainly up there with the best of the rest if not otherwise slightly edging out many. I guess I'll have to see what Santa brings .....

Many years ago when Jules first started Pioneer I was part of a collection of slot racers asked to supply tech information. The first CAD attempt at the Camaro didnt pass the "sexy as" test. To Jules' credit he took my advice and started with a clean slate all over again. The second CAD drawings were perfect! I did test work for Jules on the 12T/13T options. The 12T/13T breakeven point is 3 metres. Tracks that have straights longer than 3 metres will benefit from fitting the 13T pinion. Would be very interesting to repeat the lap test with the 13T pinion. I also tested lots of motors and verified the quoted torque and rpms from different suppliers. That 18K motor is a nice little unit.

Mate it's a beautiful car and I'm currently filming the Chevy with magnet in and out plus the two diffently pinions

@@thatslotcarguy Magnet out you really need to true the tyres. Worth trying are MJK Engineering aftermarket urethane tyres. They are based in Adelaide. They make a selection of tyres for all the popular brands. Get in touch with Ian at MJK and tell him Fabio sent you.

Another great car from Pioneer, another great review. Did you know that there are Carrera hatches available for Pioneer cars? I have a few myself, apparently they are not widely available.

I love these cars. detail is really nice, Jules tends to make the most out of his molds and there are several street and race versions of the Camaro.

Great looking car and nice review! Get that 13t pinion in there and run it again; huge track like yours will really reap the benefits for sure. Intrigued by the pioneer legends, we’re in talks about running them at our club next year

Hi Trav!! Mate that one goes really good hay. love the car. You often talk about box art. I got to say im with you on that. as a collector these boxes and sleeves are as important as the car itself. I believe as a collector when looking for cars if the original box is damaged or missing or the sleeves are damaged or missing you can bet ill be knocking the price down on that merit. I may even continue looking and not even buy that car in favour of finding one with and undamaged box. having said that I think the way you structure you reviews starting with the box is a great way to worm into your reviews. well done Trav you are ticking all the boxes. take care from your pal Helcat.

You actually prove them right to say "the average home track user...." (re: 13 tooth pinion) because your track is absolutely not the average home track.
