*I bought this as my second **Newest.Technology** device for my living room. I LOVE having them around my house. Especially with the smart plugs! During Christmas it has been so great to tell Alexa when to turn the Christmas lights on and off.*
excellent review, did you manage to get it to work with that rf remote? ihave that same remote which controls my curtains, would be awesome to get the broadlink to learn it, please let us know, and if not, any gauantees which device that remote is compatible with?
Mano0f thanks. No, I was never able to get it to work. Only IR remotes appear to work. I haven’t tried to use it in awhile so I’m not sure if there have been any updates.
initial question awaiting broadlink arrival. i need to have timer on a IR channel ( for a relay) . i will be using MYCROFT AI then after setup, not internet connected (so datasafe) eg i will not be using a phone app, so, is the timer built within the pro or in the app for timer to continue working after web disconnect.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your tech room...OMG! This was a great review. Love that it controls so much. Great that you showed a troubleshoot for the device! Great Review!
maybe in a future update it will be more compatible with other devices.. But def this can be handy to some people who want to continue building their home automation.
This seem like a really interesting kit. I wonder tho, could that Google Home function be fix with a firmware update in the Broadlink? Can it be updated?
The Broadlink will work with RF and IR with google home. But only with scenes. You do need to tell google to sync my devices. I love my broadlink RM pro. I use it in more Automations than my harmony hub.
You're right when you say it's a hassle to set this up, the app is terrible and it does not learn RF. Thanks for sharing, if i had seen this earlier, i probably would have bought the one without RF.
which one good i m confuse to buy eco dot or google home mini because eco dot have 3.5 mm audio jack we can connect to our music system and can play online song but google home dont have audio jack 3.5mm so which one better ??? my main use is i have broad link plus and broad link mini i have to control light smart light from voice i hear from some one eco dot support more better then google mini smart home appliance
surya prakash yes the eco dot is compatible with more devices because of its earlier release however as time goes by this number becomes smaller. They both do basically the same thing but If you need the 3.5 then the dot is certainly a better choice. Good luck
i also had that internet issue, of 5ghz, followed your instructions, however alexa is not responding. Could that be because they are on supposedly different internet?
wow very interesting device , seem to complicated for me , it should have a lazy person instruction manual for people like me lol hahaha , amazing review
must if have line of sight to work with my device? ie, i have 2 rooms seperated by a wall and i want it to turn on the A/C in both rooms...when the device is installed in one room....
Hi. I recently acquired a Broadlink RM mini 3 and configured it with my iPhone through the App "e-control". One of the devices that I added is my Air Conditioning and at first it works but later I stop responding from the App. I restarted the RM mini 3 and now I do not recognize any IR control, practically does not learn any button and the App stays in a "learning" loop. What can I do? By the way, I'm from Mexico but I acquired it from a website in China Help

Hey guys, do you believe someone should by just an amazon echo and a rm pro or should buy just an echo plus?
You have to say "activate ", not sure if anyone commented this already.
i was about to say this, for google home, you need to use de "activate" command
Thanks, I've been trying to get this working reliably for days. I didn't know it wasn't really compatible with Google home.
Great instructions. Followed the steps and got Alexa voice control of my Window AC unit. Thanks!

I have been looking at the Harmony but the price of this has me thinking otherwise!
Will this works with portable remote control fans?
DJSyzeOne it depends..at the time of making this video, this device could not learn rf remotes. However it does work with ir remotes
May I know this items can be control remotely (e.g. inside car)?
ek hor yes it can be controlled from anywhere
