As much as I would have loved to have the story of how and where she was for 4 years, before getting to Britain in 1947, who helped her, and what happened on that long journey, listening to this gem of a lady who at least have to be 80, even though she didn`t look it, was fascinating and helped restore my faith in humanity in a time when so much do the opposite.
In America it’s not uncommon to see African Americans who have achieved monetary and educational success turn on their brothers and sisters and refugees, siding with the majority. Instead of using their success to lift others up, the fear losing what they have (understandably) if they speak out. Look to South Africa for the ugly truth.

I wrote a letter to the home office select committee outlining a number of concerns about the immigration situation and one was the racist and dehumanisation of refugees and asylum seekers and did not get a response to this point they brushed over it, it feel like it’s fear, fear to admit the reality then they have to do something

The reaction of Suella Braverman to the question isn't all that surprising, but the attempt of the Home Office to persuade Freedom from Torture to take down the video is, because it seems like politicisation of the civil service which is stepping in an attempt to salvage Suella Braverman's reputation.
In reply, Suella claimed that her father was quote ‘kicked out of Kenya’. This is the first I’ve heard that idi amin was also able to have Asians kicked out from a neighbouring country too. I think she’s lied there, no one was ever ‘kicked out of Kenya’. It only happened in Uganda because of Idi Amin. It means that her parents were purely economic migrants to the U.K., exactly the people she is now insulting.
And if the parents were kicked out it was because Asians in Africa were settler colonialists working 4 British imperialism by being the gangsters and enforcement of British imperialism!
