Dear Melissa, last verse he cited, gets more interesting: God said to disbelievers "We will show THEM Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness?" Quran 41-53, the context before this verse was about the disbelievers. Notice it says in the horizons (space, unverse, etc.), and in themselves (verses about biology, psychology etc.)!! Notice it says "we will show THEM" and who are these people making these discoveries that confirm those verses in many fields? The majority of these discoveries are made by irreligious scientists. They are the "them" in the above verse. That is another prediction that they are the ones who are going to make these discoveries, not Muslims, so they will believe their own research because they may not believe it if it comes from Muslims. So they will decide to believe OR prefer the flower of life, as Quran describes life pleasures, sex, beautiful gardens , women, men, travel, drinking, but this life will last an afternoon, so it seems to them on that Day, as Quran said. If you want proof, remember what you did 10 or 20 years ago. Do you remember your time spent as a student in primary or secondary school? No way,It passed very quickly, it went by, and you are still alive. When you are resurrected, you will feel as if you have lived for an afternoon, as the Quran states If you read The Quran, you will find many proofs such this one " And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander." Quran 51-47. The expansion of the universe is now well established fact. It was postulated in 1930s and confirmed in 196 after long calculation and using the giant Hubble telescope and the person who confirmed it won Nobel prize. Who can come up with such a discovery 1400 years ago? By the way, I showed it to my Professor in the Quran translation in English he did not have an explanation, he was surprised about it. Remember, God sent unlettered prophet for that reason, but such expanding universe was impossible to know back then. I study it and took an astronomy course in the university it require huge amount of calculation of stars' speed and velocity, color shift analysis etc. and they gave the basic introductory example of a dough with raisins: when you put it in the oven, the raisins (stars) expand and move away from their relative positions as the bread (the universe) expands. God know that you know that knowledge is unattainable back then. So that is one of many signs for you to be certain of his last message, Islam. Even atheists that I know of, who dismiss any scientific discoveries in the Quran by saying their favorite reply, "Greeks knew it", without any proof nor references, could not say that about the above verse. Here is another sign: "And We also sent down iron in which there lies great force and which has many uses for mankind.." (Quran 57:25). It is now confirmed that iron came to earth from space meteoroids colliding with earth that introduced iron into the earth crust! These verses are signs for our generation and were tests for older generations who must have asked, "Why did God choose the verb "send down" for a metal that we find deep in the earth?" So same verse was used as test for some older generations are now becoming a sign and a proof for newer generation!! May God guide us all. Amin

for women in America if you want to be happy, Islam is the best solution for human life. how not because the Prophet Muhammad SAW is the only prophet who teaches the equality of privileges for both men and women with their respective responsibilities. Even in a story where the Prophet Muhammad SAW advised his female congregation, if a woman wants to have a harmonious and happy family life then look at the man from Her behavior. 1. Is the man diligent in worshiping Allah SWT ? 2. Does he obey his mother and father? 3. Does he respect your parents who have raised you. If these three foundations are fulfilled then he is the right man to be your husband as a Muslim woman. Because in the Tirmidhi hadith it is written (the best of a person is he who is kind to his women).

So basically the Angel Gabriel gave the revelation to Prohet Muhammad PBUH. To recite to his companions to write down, The reason for that was he(Prophet Muhammad PBUH) was unlettered. Therefore once his revelation was done and he died, they compiled it together and made the Holy Quran as a whole. Which means it's the words of God given through the Angel Gabriel to Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Just to make it clear the reasons why we say it's the Words of the Almighty

The Qur'an remains a book of inimitable quality, not only from a linguistic, but also from and intellectual, point of view. When Muhammad was challenged by his fellow countrymen to present a miracle, in keeping with the tradition of other prophets, he presented the Qur'an to them. The inimitability of the Qur'an is repeatedly emphasized in the Holy Book itself. The Qur’an issued a challenge not only to the contemporaries of the Prophet but also to men in all ages. In order to demonstrate the incapacity and impotence of people to imitate it, it issued the following universal proclamation: “Were all mankind to come together and wish to produce the like of the Qur’an, they would never succeed, however much they aided each other”. Quran (17:88)
It then modifies the challenge and reduces its scope by saying: “Do people imagine that this Qur’an is not from Us, and that you, O Prophet are falsely attributing to us? Tell them that if they are speaking truly they should produce ten surahs resembling the Qur’an, and that they are free to call on the aid of anyone but God in so doing.” Quran (11:13)
Then, at the third stage, the scope of the challenge is reduced still further: the deniers are called on to produce only a single surah resembling the Qur’an: “Oh people, if you doubt the heavenly origin of this Book which We have sent down to Our servant, the Prophet, produce one surah like it.” (2:23) A yet stronger challenge occurs in another chapter: “Or do they say: 'He forged it'? Say: 'Bring then a sura like unto it and call [to your aid] anyone you can”. (10:38) Since we know that some of the shorter surahs consist only of a few brief sentences, this final challenge constituted a definitive proof of the human being’s inability to imitate the Qur’an. Can the person of today take up the challenge of the Qur’an and produce a Surah like it, thereby conquering the stronghold of Islam and invalidating the claim of its Prophet?
Let us not forget that this challenge was issued to a people whose leaders were threatened by the devastating attacks of the Qur’an - their lives, their property, their ancient customs, their ancestors, their whole social position. If it had been at all possible for the Arabs to respond to the challenge of the Qur’an, they would have taken it up immediately, with the unstinting aid of the masters of eloquence that were by no means rare in that age. Thus they would have invalidated the proofs of the Qur’an and won an everlasting victory.
Qur’an has proposed a very simple challenge to those who oppose it. Why do then the deniers of prophethood choose roundabout ways, avoiding this direct method of confronting and defeating Islam? Is not because the door is firmly closed on meeting the challenge posed by the Qur’an?
It is not that they did not try to mute the challenge. Infact, they called into play all their resources in an effort to meet the challenge of the Qur’an, but all their efforts came to naught.
