I have seen Brooke in Cabaret, Wonderful Town and Chicago. She was great in all of them , but Wonderful Town was so perfect for her! It was the best she has done, even she loved it!
lovebrookeshields Well I was living in NY at the time (wasn’t born there), so was happy got to see her in them. Have a few pictures with her... Seems like yesterday, cannot believe how fast time flies...
Yeah Al my dates included dinner and a show, Cats I can't count the times, Grease with like four different Casts, Le mis, about 4 times and various off Broadway plays Some losers some actually pretty decent..
People complained about this production. But I loved the tacky florescent set and the revolving door of celebrity stunt casting. I saw this production 3 times. The Audiences were pumped and it was a blast!!! Good times...miss that :-)
Thank you for this. I kind of assumed that Ms. Wood was still there as Sandy, but I will take your comment as confirmation. I have added Wood to the description.
i was a senior in high school in 1994 and i so wanted to be a grown woman out in the world like brooke shields. now that I’m a grown woman, i would love to be a senior in high school again with no responsibilities. funny how that works isn’t it? thanks for the great footage.
Thank you so much for posting this! Grease 1994 has always been my favorite revival on broadway. Do you by any chance have the full show with the 1994 or 1995 cast? Maybe with Michelle Blakely or Paul Castree. Or do you have any more extended footage of the show? I have always wanted to see how the choreography and acting was when this version of the musical was preformed. Thanks again!
People get very critical when watching these bootlegs. Remember colors are muted...video suffers from some distortion. And this was one performance of many.
import26 YES! I saw the tour and remember--especially at the end of the show--the florescent pink set very brightly lit actually made my eyes hurt (there was a little relief with the cast all dressed in black).
I think this is her first time on Broadway. She did some theater at Princeton. Can’t imagine hitting the stage with such a big spotlight on you. And especially after years of being required to be bland and poised, and objectified.
A decent straight rendition, and props to Brooke for knowing that the beginning on Neighborhood is supposed to have a pause after it so it can rhyme with No good. So many either rush neighborhood into the word thinks, or they don't pause quite long enough. Channing from the movie did was the worst at this, although overall she did a great version.
She has a decent voice, I see why she has the musical career but ... why that hairdo? Was the director looking for Bride of Frankenstein realness and forgot the blot?
I'm going to guess that Brooke's hair was pretty long and this is what they came up with. Perhaps a wig didn't work for her and she didn't want to cut it.
This comment got more emotion than the performance. Yeah, I wish whoever conducted this, tried to work with her, emphasize how to just articulate the voice, facial expression, even if she's not doing a whole lot of action and the very basis of this characters existence. On the bright side, she did perform certain broadway songs with the right type emotion, so she's realized that. Just not this performance, unfortunately
I saw her in cabaret. She was amazing
I love Brooke Shields.
She is a strong singer! Talented in so many ways. And a good quality person too. I love her.

I am so jealous of you right now. I have *never* seen her in person... Too bad for me, I guess I was born in the wrong country hehehehe

I thought the critics were too harsh on this revival. But it didn't matter much, as it ran four years.
Footage of Susan Wood as Sandy--be still my heart!

She was always my favorite Sandy!

Great Brooke !!!
Saw Brooke in Cabaret and Chicago...she was great in both..this is her first time on Broadway and she looks scared/unsure....she really grew from this
so THIS merited a shout out in The Nanny!
65 bucks to see Brooke Shields singing in pedal pushers!!!!
Susan Wood was the most perfect Sandy. Surprised she didn't do more on Broadway.
She can sing !!!😍😃

🤗❤️
Is there more of this show?? MORE footage?? Pretty please??
She is not bad.
I never understood the design for this revival. It was set in a bizarro version of the 60's.
And also, if I recall correctly, sort of a stage-within-a-stage.
And fluorescent. I'll never forget the bright neon colors.

I think they were going for a comic book look but instead it looked like a low budget rave set to the age of rock'n'roll. Very strange for sure.
Weird since the show is set in the 50's.

Thank you. I like this analysis.
She looks fab and I’ve been curious to see those so I’m glad you posted-as always-but, ugh, she is not good. She’s trying. But she’s not good.
This is so monotone and emotionless, it's awkward to watch
There's moments where she *almost* takes off but just...doesn't.
Don't care for her Rizzo either.

It’s like that TV show, “Becker”. You want it to get better, but it just doesn’t…

Brooke should’ve probably played Sandy. She doesn’t have enough sass and assertiveness to be Russo.
Do I get a free churro from Jack in the Box?
Yes monotone affectionless but better than Linda Blair.
