Mothers VLR intetior cleaner works great and smells good, just spray onto a microfiber towel, wipe, and use another microfiber towel to clean after! Comes on a big red bottle.
Now that this has been installed for a bit, how is it performing? I see plenty of install videos but no long term reviews. Thank you very much! Trying to decide which brand of catch can to install on my 2023 Kona N.
I've emptied it twice but haven't noticed that much blow by. I might need check my lines again cause the engine cover sorta push down on them. But no issues other than that and maybe I feel the bracket is a little too long vs maybe the Boomba catch can, their bracket is smaller!
I have the same unit just wished they could of designed the mounting bracket a little better. Also get little lock washers or use a drop of loctight in the mounting screws that hold the canister.
I would say more for engine protection and longevity. Catch cans are suppose to capture harmful particles from engine blow-by, so installing it to just help maintain and protect the engine a bit more.
Oh, I'm not sure, I had referenced the SXTH video for the install so hopefully I got it right lol. But they are pretty responsive on IG and email if you haven't contacted them. Would love to know what they tell you!
Yo man! So yeah they got back to me quick. So the bronze filter should be in the line returning to the intake. They told me to just flip the hoses around.
What oil do you use for your N? My 1st oil change ive used 5w30. I want to use again but read from another N owner, Oil with zinc he switched because its preferred. Wanted to get another opinion is this true? Should I be paying attention to zinc? Other N owners dont really mention the zinc, so that is why if this single N owner i read from is just being extra safe? Would appreciate if you can let me know! Just want to take care of my car! Thanks!
Oh haven't read about oil with zinc in the N cars. I use 0W-30 but have been taking in the car to Hyundai for the oil changes so far. I usually use full synthetic, and thought zinc was mostly for older engines but I'm not an expert! There are zinc additives i've seen that might be more modern formulas for better engine protection but again maybe someone here in the comments or forum / reddit could clarify better!
Ah thank you! I got it off aliexpress but see it isn't listed anymore. They did have this one but it is a little different: www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804934245823.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.51.5e32719d7eNQGK&algo_pvid=f21578e6-a721-4b6e-ae83-5c983ee676b1&algo_exp_id=f21578e6-a721-4b6e-ae83-5c983ee676b1-25&pdp_ext_f=%7B%22sku_id%22%3A%2212000031738783583%22%7D&pdp_npi=2%40dis%21USD%217.45%214.77%21%21%21%21%21%40212240a316754226990137142d0665%2112000031738783583%21sea&curPageLogUid=TISnFFF7VBFK
@@CaliforniaKonaN I’m using -10an which is equivalent to a half inch inner diameter hose. It would be the next size up I think from the hoses you already have on there
I see your production values. Keep up the good work.
Ah thanks man! Tryin my best with my iPhone ha so def appreciate your feedback

Yeah I was gonna go with the Boomba Racing CC cause of the smaller bracket. This one does stick out kinda far. And thanks for the tip!
What is this can catching? Why would you want to add this? Are there any performance gains from this?

I'm spamming your comments...sorry in advance. Could you make a more in depth video on how to install this? Just not sure where to disconnect.
I referenced the SXTH element video for the install!

Let me know if that helps more!
Kona n for life
I just installed mine but I feel like the filters on the line coming from the valve cover. Shouldn’t it be on the line leading to the intake?

@California Kona N Much appreciated for the reply! Yes I've been making sure to always use full synthetic! Alrighty well thanks for you're input 🙂
Where'd you get that "N" magnetic cell phone holder, please??
Great videos you do here, dude! Thanks!! -A.D.

Hey if you ever think the can isn’t doing it’s best job try using larger diameter hoses ask me how I know 😅 But good job 👍🏼
Ah thanks for the tip! What size hoses did you go with?

What was wrong with the 3/8 hose it came with?
