very nice video of the machine room still has the original relay controller and floor selector, I have not seen too many unders-sluged 2:1 traction elevators. If I recall there are four sheaves 2 underside of the cab, top of the shaft for the driven sheave, 2nd opposite side for the counterweight, for a basement traction machine. Is the machine a 3 phase 480V AC induction motor with a reversing relay on the control board?
Anyone know of a website that deals with old S. Heller elevator conversions to a modern drive motor, and a plc controls? The drive motor for our elevator at the local FOE club burned up this past week. Penthouse control room, four floor building. Thanks
Now that is a REAL elevator. Good ol' gears, chains, and relays. 62 years old and still going strong, even if it does have a replaced motor.
