    ¡Qué belleza estas piezas Lorenzo! Realmente un sonido espectacular. Me transportó a la época, sin dudas. Soy un compositor y guitarrista clásico y eléctrico. Me pregunto si es muy diferente tocar estas guitarras...

    Of the several Baroque guitar recordings I've heard, this instrument has the clearest tone. Of course the virtuoso playing it might be a factor.

    Wonderful sound, Maestro! And how do you combine playing on classical guitar and historical instruments? I mean, do you play with nails or without? Is it not a secret?

    • @LorenzoMicheli
      @LorenzoMicheli  7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Dear Alexey, I do use nails, but I keep them very short (and pluck the courses with the right side of the nail). This, along with the little finger planted on the soundboard, allows me to play both baroque ad classical instruments.

If only the world would be made of these "delicacies" yours and that, but then here "they" are! Thank you for sharing all these masterpieces,yours,music and the instruments!! ..gracias!!

      Dear Lorenzo. Have you recorded N. Paganini Sonata n.33 Minuet Andantino ,can I get it somewhere ? There' s an upload from when you did back in 2017 in an "estudiantina" but it is " a crime" to listen to the recording quality. Yet it's possible to hear that yours again, is an absolute unique interpretation of one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever heard and just "die" to hear it in acoustics of proper nature!
      There's one interpretation I found of G. Bandini I thought I would do with,but then there's the way you played it back then ,,and ... just,, say no more.

    Hello Lorenzo. I was wondering what the string tension in kilo's of your top string is? What is the brand name and gauge? I play Lute and guitar with nails, as you do, and I've just finished building an 8-course Baroque Guitar (unusual, I know!). I was thinking to put a .55 Pyramid string on the top course, which gives about 4 and 1/2 kilo's of tension. I would be very grateful for your advise! Many thanks and best wishes, Edward.

    • @LorenzoMicheli
      @LorenzoMicheli  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Edward, if I am not wrong it's a Pyramid nylon string, 0,50/3.6 k. Take care!

  • @lydiaray5915
    @lydiaray5915 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow!! Incredibly beautiful.

  •  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hello Lorenzo. About the guitar tuning.....are there bourdons on the 4th and 5th course? Are the 4th and 5th courses up an octave from "conventional" guitar tuning? Or are there high octaves on the "Bass" side of the pair? With all good wishes, Edward Fitzgibbon.

    • @LorenzoMicheli
      @LorenzoMicheli  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ciao Edward, there are no bourdons on the 5th course (which is entirely re-entrant), but there is both a low and a high "D" on the 4th course. It's a pretty common "hybrid" tuning that allows you to perform a quite extensive range of repertoire. Take care! L

    • @LorenzoMicheli
      @LorenzoMicheli  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's always difficult to tell whether a baroque guitarist was using a re-entrant, a semi-re-entrant tuning or bourdons on both the 4th and the 5th course, because most of the sources lack of this information. But I find that this semi-re-entrant tuning fits to most of the major repertoire (for instance, de Visée or Roncalli), because ti gives you the possibility to choose which octave you want to emphasize more.

    • @brianfrith5324
      @brianfrith5324 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LorenzoMicheli You are correct. I got confused because I was working through de Murcia's arrangement of Suite no 8. De Murcia subsituted some of the movements and I'm also working from the arrangement done by Jose Maria Gallardo del Rey. Jose Maria has composed his own Gigue so gets just a little complicated. Corelli is one of the great composers. I'm so glad to have discovered his music thanks to Robert Gjerdingen's book "Music In the Galant Period". Nice Romanesca at the beginning and I just spotted a 'down 3 up 1 sequence in bars 7-10 and a converging cadence in bar 11. It's like an Easter egg hunt.

    Buongiorno, volevo se possibile avere un'informazione sulle corde.
    Suono la chitarra classica e da poco ho comprato una chitarra barocca (usata) che accordo a 415 ma la tensione delle corde sopratutto sul terzo-quarto (con raddoppio all'ottava) e quinto coro (rientrante) mi pare troppo bassa.
    Non so quanto dipenda da me, dall'action o dalle corde ma è veramente difficile non far sbattere le corde .
    Ciò premesso volevo solo sapere che corde usa sulla chitarra . Esiste una muta già pronta?
    Complimenti per l'esecuzione. Un cordiale saluto Fabio

    • @LorenzoMicheli
      @LorenzoMicheli  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Caro Fabio, è difficile trovare l'assetto giusto. Le corde montate sulla tua chitarra, semplicemente, potrebbero essere del calibro sbagliato. Ti consiglio di calcolare la tensione delle corde indicando il diapason del tuo strumento e la frequenza del tuo "la": puoi usare uno dei tanti calcolatori che si trovano online (ad es. tinyurl.com/yadpg6rm), e poi acquistare le corde desiderate (io uso le Pyramid, Pyramid-saiten.de). Ciao!
