Oh awesome! I haven’t had the chance to check out any pawnshops up there so that’s a good tip! Did you end up getting anything good at the shipping crate?
It really was a one-of-a-kind experience! I love those types of game hunts, where you’re finding games and making memories! Glad you enjoyed the episode!
I'm 99% sure that the Pokémon is fake. You need to be looking at the back PCB on the left for the squares and you can look by the pins and see nintendo spelled in a specific font. It sucks that people will sell repros like that and not tell anyone
It’s OK! Who knows if the seller even knew what he had. But I mentioned elsewhere I had read online that the gold squares aren’t always there - is that different from what you’ve seen? As far as the Nintendo font - where should I look to find that, on the plastic or inside?
@Ben-nn2mv Well said, Ben - I know in my head 100 was the top of what I was willing to pay, so when he came in at 100 it was pretty fair, but I love the haggle and when the worst they can do is say no, it never hurts to ask haha
It’s a good idea - one thing I try to do is be a little discrete, because even though I don’t show faces, I wouldn’t want people telling me not to film - with the phone it’s a little easier to be discrete. Plus it’s convenient since I always have the phone with me. But having my hands free would be nice!
Peeped Ontelaunee Park towards the end there! Also, you're so polite to the sellers! Do you have a Game Gear? I found one in my shed the other day and it's mint.
good eye! It’s a beautiful park, I went to a yard sale event there last year and did really well in terms of games too, so I’m looking forward to whenever they have that again. Funny, you mentioned game gears, I did find one, but it was not working, and I have not been able to get it to work at all unfortunately, so I’m technically still looking for one lol
Following your channel and watching each of your Garage sale pick ups definitely a fun time. Enjoy seeing the deals your getting and the great titles too. I'm from Bradford, PA so the other side of the state. Im always hunting for games on the cheap like you. I need to start selling games to recoup some of the funds I spend. Have a great week m Cheers to your next video.
I appreciate you checking out the channel! How is the game hunting out on the west side of PA? One of these days I would love to do some game hunting out there!
leafgreen is fake :( back part should have 4 rectangles that form a larger rectangle on the left side. yours have random golden dots which is common indicator for fake cartridges
Oh interesting, I see what you mean - I did also see someone else saying that at times Nintendo had third party manufacturers so the gold rectangles may not be a good indicator - but either way I learned another thing to check for!
Hey Jahrod! Thanks! So it’s kind of a hodge podge of shelves haha - I have the Atlantic media shelves for the PS2 and Xbox 360, but then the shelves above those and everything else are all things I whipped together from lumber. Frankly up close they’re all kinds of crooked and I should have measured better and the one set of shelves sags in the middle… but they do the job haha.
Haha - she didn’t expect me to want the empty box and it took me a moment to realize she was breaking it down to recycle haha - had to be like wait! I want that too! lol
Oof need to look out for some of the vhs tape that 1st rural stop had jimmy timmy power hour worth the pick up for a flip, also time cop just a classic.
Awesome video as always! A few tips for figuring out if the leafgreen is authentic is to look at the top left corner of the back of the cart, if it's authentic there should be four rectangles visible. Authentic cartridges also have a number stamped into the art, you should be able to see it above the Nintendo approval seal.
Appreciate the love! Also good tips! A few people are mentioning the gold rectangles and the stamped number - but I’ve also seen people online saying sometimes those are missing and it’s normal - have you seen that too? Or what are your thoughts?
@@ElDabstroyero I've never heard an authentic copy of leafgreen/firered not having the rectangles and stamped numbers. If your copy doesn't have either of those, I'd assume that it's probably not authentic.
Good point! I had not even considered that - but I wouldn’t have know to look for them anyway lol. But thankfully a bunch of comments have mentioned it - the only confusion for me is when I see other sources saying sometimes they don’t even have the 4 squares lol. Damn repro carts!
I did collect like you did for a long time but i recently went for quality of quantity. Must say it clears my head a little😂 p.s. not saying what you do is wrong. It just didnt fit me anymore
Makes total sense to me! I’m going to hit a point where I run out of shelf space and I’ll have some decisions to make then… but for now, I want it all haha
I think that leaf green is fake. The board looks modern, try transferring a Pokémon, a fake one will not let you transfer them to a next gen DS game. Nice 360 game pickups.
Yeah I think the leaf green is fake, what’s usually a dead giveaway is at the end of the N in Pokémon just a little below right side should be a number stamped/etched into the cover I believe the #20
I had saw the same thing online but also saw that in some cases that can be missing and that would still be normal - have you seen the same thing? Or is the stamp a dead giveaway? Appreciate the insights!
@@ElDabstroyero yeah I’ve heard in most cases when the number is usually missing it’s a fake but only way to truly know would be to open the motherboard I suppose
@@ElDabstroyero There's plenty of guides out there on comparing real to fake copies, the fake copy here is the modern fake that you always see on ali express. The cartridge shell is a bit off color, board has spots on the back that shouldn't be there, label's holo is off, once you learn the differences you'll see several parts on the cartridge look off.
Appreciate you sharing some knowledge! I found a lot of conflicting info when I was searching, so I started getting to the point where I was questioning everything haha
I don’t think leaf green is real if it was you would be able to see the numbers in the top right corner and I look at some real ones for comparison and the colors don’t match up so I don’t think it’s real
I appreciate the insights! I will need to get some high definition pictures posted of the cart on my social media, so you can take a closer look. I can’t say for sure how new it is, because everything in there seemed like it was in a time capsule from a few years ago
This is going to be insane, love checking out hunting for games in different places, and aside from Chase After The Right Price going through Storage containers from a store owner, this is the only other time that I recall seeing Game Hunting in a Shipping Container. I think the prices reflect the store too, not saying that there can't be deals to be had, but still awesome. I've seen some SOA, and have a few of the games, have yet to play them yet though. LeafGreen for $20 would be amazing, but I understand the conservativeness of it due to how many fakes of those games are out there. Sketchy neighborhood, dark storage container, red flags everywhere.....GAMES!!!!!!! *Takes of running into the unknown* lol. I don't think I've seen Metropolismania either, but Natsume is like Atlus to me, when I see that logo and it for a good price, snag it. Very sweet pile of things, and awesome to venture out and check out different places to game hunt. I truly love coming along with you on the game hunting journey, always nice seeing what people come across and the success they have. Not going to lie though I do get a bit jealous by some of your finds, but not in a malicious way, happy for you, just a little sad I've not come across some of them (Go Go Hypergrind comes to mind lol). But everyones journey is different, and I'm sure I've come across a bunch of stuff people are jealous of as well. One thing I truly like about videos like you and others is even though I mostly focus on my collection, lately a friend has been doing some stuff on whatnot, so nice to gain more knowledge on stuff to keep an eye out for to flip to offset the cost of the collection, even a little bit, or to get more funds to put into the collection lol. Gotham Knights is a game I want to pick up and play. Had a chance, but at the time I didn't have a PS5 and decided to pass, now can't find it lol. The Jersey Shore guy is named Ronnie. Girlfriend loved that show. Amazing haul, congrats on all the scores my guy. Keep up the grind and we will see you on the next one. #Roadto3k
Haha you make a great point - it was a bit sketchy so it makes sense to be extra cautious! Natsume is one I’m less familiar with but I’ll take your advice and keep my eyes open for those! i’m glad you were enjoying the game hunt as well! And I totally get your perspective on being jealous, I have a hard time watching a lot of game hunting content for that reason! Same thing with social media, if I see someone gets a great score, especially nearby, it can be a real blow! But at the end of the day, we are still out there, finding stuff, having fun, putting together some content for TH-cam and even if I end up finding nothing, I can’t really complain because it’s about the journey, not the destination!
@@ElDabstroyero Natsume made alot (if not all) the Harvest Moon games, Pocky & Rocky, Lufia, etc. Now don't get me wrong sure there is a bunch of filler as well, but just from what I've picked up, they've been Enjoyable. Atlus seems to be one of the main ones to keep an eye out for sure for. and Working Designs from everything I've seen and experienced though.
