I'm Colombian. I went to Melbourne that year to study English. It was awesome, I loved the city and Australia in general, but I'm here to talk about football (or as you aussies say, soccer). Months before my trip, I decided to support one team from Melbourne, I wasn't sure which one. I hate Man. City, but Melbourne City could be a good choice because of the colours of M. Victory (MV have the same colours of the team that I hate here in Colombia, Millonarios). So I decided I would choose the team in Australia. I arrived in February and I totally forgot about choosing a side. It was not until I was bored after my English lessons that I saw a MV match for the AFC CL. So I talked with my Saudi friend about it and we decided to go. I also talked about it with my fellow Colombians, but they didn't want to go because they said that Asian soccer was shit (I don't think so). So, I went there. It was the match against Kawasaki Frontale. Nothing looked good. The fans weren't optimistic that season and they said Sydney was going to win. We were kinda bored with the match, no goals, until the 90' minute, it was awesome and I decided I would be back. I went to every single MV match played in Melbourne (I couldn't afford any trip) and they won every single one of them (vs CCM, WSW, SIPG, Phoenix and Adelaide) , and all of them were exciting games. My friends didn't know what they were missing. I bought a scarf, a jacket and the jersey. I also tried to watch the semifinal vs Sydney in my shitty phone data xD . It was awesome, I could't believe what happened in that game. Unfortunately, the final was played in Newcastle, so I could not go :( . But as soon as I knew that they would stream the final at the Etihad Stadium, I prepared myself, I was going to finish what I started. But, before the final, there was a final training session in Melbourme, I went there, I got my scarf signed by a lot of players and Muscat and I wished them luck with my shitty English. I invited some Colombian friends to the Docklands Stadium, they thought the final was there and they accepted haha, but we enjoyed ourselves in the stadium, it was a fantastic night, Victory won the A-League while I was there :D. We celebrated (alcohol free, Colombian money is shit compared to de AUD and it's hard to buy beer) I also went to the champions "presentation" (don't know the name) at AAMI Park and I said goodbye to that amazing experience. To all the Latinos that think that Asian soccer is shit, I strongly recommend you to watch a match. Don't be so arrogant. We have watched South American teams lose with Asian teams (At. Nacional vs Kashima Antlers, River Plate vs Al-Ain, etc). Give it a chance, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Congrats Victorians (if that's your nickname xd). I hope to be back to Straya' someday
