    The benefit of having another case protecting the iPad is when you want to detach it from the keyboard and start drawing with the apple pencil. It is super useful and effortless. My current iPad pro with the magic keyboard is such a pain whenever I want to start drawing as there is no case protecting it when detached from the keyboard. The camera bump makes the iPad uneven on table and would scratch the camera.

    I went with the ESR case! For my usage, it is definitely the more sensible purchase. I love the fact that there are multiple attachment heights for the iPad and the ability to turn it to portrait mode is a huge plus. The typing experience is very good as well. Probably not quite as good as the magic keyboard but my Mac is my primary device so the ESR case is more than good enough for my iPad as a secondary device. I also love the inner case, because I do detach my iPad a good bit to hand write notes. The only thing that absolutely kills me is that the inner case is not compatible with the ESR rebound magnetic folio case! The inner cases are literally identical, but the magnets are placed differently! Why in the World did ESR not make the magnetic attachment the same?! They missed a huge opportunity to have the complete package for the iPad Pro.

    • @TheTechReviewer
      @TheTechReviewer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi William! So happy you are loving your ESR Rebound 360 Keyboard Case...there is a lot to love! However, I totally hear your frustration on the lack of compatibility between the inner cases of the two Rebound 360 products. My guess is this is because the magnets have to be in different positions to have different capabilities. I have a bunch of ESR cases for the iPad Pro M4 11 inch, and there is no mix and match compatibility between any of them. So unfortunate. I can't imagine ESR is unaware of this, so I think it must be unavoidable somehow...
      Thanks for watching, and enjoy your new iPad Pro setup!

    I was looking at this because of the easy detach feature of the secondary case. Most after-market keyboard cases either don’t have the secondary case, or it’s a laptop form factor where the iPad sits in a housing (not as easy to lift it off the keyboard and ‘go’). - Just ordered, I’ll follow-up with my thoughts, I’m mostly worried about the lag of the Bluetooth vs the directly connected Magic Keyboard. I refuse to buy their Magic Keyboard it of principle (that price is just outrageous considering the price of the iPad itself, you can get a full M2/M3 MacBook Air for less) My gripe with the iPad either filling the role of a locked-down crappy laptop experience or a mid-tier drawing tablet aside, I’m eager to see how this keyboard + Trackpad performs.

  • @pleswalker

    ESR > Apple. ESR doesn’t wobble when you touch it either. Apples keyboard has a ridiculous amount of wobble when you touch it.

    • @TheTechReviewer
      @TheTechReviewer  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi @pleswalker! I agree that the ESR Rebound 360 feels very stable, but I'm not noticing a wobble with the Apple Magic Keyboard. Do you mean when you are typing?

    • @pleswalker
      @pleswalker 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@TheTechReviewer The Apple Keyboard wobbles when you touch the screen. I know Apple wants us to think it’s a laptop, but at that price point a tablet shouldn’t wobble when you touch the tablet. The last Magic Keyboard was much more stable. If you compare the hinge from the last model to the new model, you will see the reason why it wobbles so badly. It was a deal breaker for me and I returned the Magic Keyboard. I went with the ESR keyboard and have been extremely happy with it.

    • @TheTechReviewer
      @TheTechReviewer  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      OK, I get it. I don't tend to touch the screen much when I am using the keyboard, so I didn't notice it before. And for me, I really only notice a slight wobble when the iPad Pro is in a more reclined position. But I can see how that would be a deal breaker for you if you frequently touch the screen when using the Magic Keyboard. Glad you found a superior option for you with the ESR Rebound 360!

      What about the track pad? Does ESR work for multi touch well as apple?

    • @pleswalker
      @pleswalker 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@enoch_likeit the track pad is definitely smaller on the Rebound. This wasn’t important to me because I use a mouse. Apples trackpad is nicer but not worth the higher price tag in my opinion.
      I would check out the ESR Ascend keyboard if the trackpad is important to you. The trackpad is larger on that version but has less features than the Rebound.

    Great review. I see why ESR had to use a steeper angle. Any lower and the keyboard would tip over while in elevated mode.
    Just FYI, Pitaka makes a slim case for the iPad which can be used with the Apple Magic Keyboard so that would solve the issue of the edges being exposed because it has the pin connectors integrated. There’s at least 2 others but I am not sure if they are available yet.

    Thank you for your video regarding the keyboard for the iPad. I appreciate your prompt response and assistance.
    I wanted to share my thoughts on the keyboard. While it is quite nice in many respects, I have encountered a few issues that I believe are worth mentioning:
    1. **Weight**: When the iPad is attached to the keyboard, the combined weight is significantly heavy, making it less portable and convenient than I had hoped.
    2. **Magnet Functionality**: The magnet does not seem to work effectively without a cover, which limits its usability and functionality.
    3. **Viewing Angle**: The viewing angle could benefit from more flexibility. It would be helpful if it allowed for greater adjustment to achieve a more comfortable viewing experience.
    4.**Pencil Magnet**: The magnet for the pencil is quite weak. When the pencil is attached to the iPad and the keyboard is opened, the pencil often falls off, which is very inconvenient.
    Also I feel the touchpad slow how I fixated

    • @TheTechReviewer
      @TheTechReviewer  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Mohamed! Thanks for sharing your Rebound 360 experience! I totally agree with you on the weight issue...it's bulkier and heavier than Apple's Magic Keyboard.
      As for using it without the inner case, that's not supported for the 2024 M4 11 inch Rebound 360 version (but it was for the 2022 11 inch version). Which iPad Pro version are you using?
      You are right that there are fewer viewing angle options with the Rebound 360 as opposed to the Magic Keyboard...the cantilever design doesn't work quite as well.
      I didn't notice any issues with the magnetic attachment for Apple Pencil Pro, however...I wonder if you got a defective unit? The same goes for the touchpad...mine seemed fine. You might want to reach out to ESR.
      Thanks so much for watching, and sharing your feedback. And have a great weekend!

    Is it possible to “comfortably” put the ipad over the keyboard for a temporary tilted drawing angle ? 😅 or interchange this case with their esr shift product.

    • @TheTechReviewer
      @TheTechReviewer  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sadly, the ESR case parts are not interchangeable...at least none of the ones I have, anyway. The magnets are positioned differently...very frustrating! The Shift won't play nice with the Rebound 360 keyboard case, the Rebound Hybrid case, etc...
      As for propping up the inner case in a temporary drawing angle, maybe you could do that if you closed the Rebound 360 Keyboard Case and then propped up the inner case on the closed keyboard case? Not sure if that low of an angle would be of any help, though. Alternatively, if you already own the Shift case, you can try putting it at the lowest typing/drawing angle, without the inner case, and rest the iPad Pro, in the Rebound 360 keyboard case inner case, against this slightly angled stand. The magnets won’t attach properly, but it will rest there in a reasonably stable manner. Again, though…it won’t be magnetically secured in any way to the Shift case…it would just be leaning up against it.

Apple def couldve incorporated something like the esr case to secure it. Since the 13 inch version has the function row i dont think theres anything the magic keyboard can do. Plus as someone who will have the ipad out of the case for my sheet music and also when drawing i wont have to get another thin case. Could you tell me the weight of the ESR? Do you have to manually connect it every time you use it? Or does it remember and connect to it when you turn on the keyboard? Hi Dominic! The Rebound 360 is a good product. Pairing via Bluetooth is easy and in my experience, only needs to be done once. The keyboard continues to remember your iPad Pro. The trackpad is nice and responsive and the keyboard works very well. As far as the weight is concerned, I don’t have a figure for that. It’s definitely noticeably more than the Magic Keyboard. Hi Patty! So, with the previous version of the ESR Rebound 360, the one for the iPad Pro 2022 11 inch, you could use your iPad Pro without the inner case to a certain extent. The magnets weren't quite as good, and you were limited to only the standard landscape position, but it worked. However, something has changed with the magnet positioning with this new model of ESR Rebound 360 Keyboard Case for the 2024 iPad Pro 11 inch: you can no longer use it with a naked iPad. Hi @aliabdullah7867! If you are talking about the inner case for this keyboard case, the case is slim and lightweight and doesn't have big bezels. The fit is good overall, but the areas over the port openings have more flex that I would like...probably because of the thinness of the material in those areas. It's a slim case on a slimmer product, so unless they designed the case to be thicker, I think this issue is unavoidable. It's a light duty case, not drop rated, but it is pleasant in the hand and adds value to the package overall. I think it's a nice addition to the ESR Keyboard Case

      I think that overall, everything is a bit better with the Magic Keyboard. Like most Apple products, they just do everything pretty perfectly. The only real issue I have with the Magic Keyboard is that you have to use it with a naked iPad Pro (unless you buy one of the very few third party cases out there which are compatible with Magic Keyboard) and that the MK gets dirty easily. Other than that, it is absolutely outstanding, and not surprisingly the trackpad and keyboard are both going to be a bit better than third party products. However, the amount of improvement is pretty small and I'm not sure that it is sufficient to justify the purchase of the Magic Keyboard over the Rebound, given the large price difference between the two. 😊

Thank you I appreciate it sorry for so many questions great vid!

      Hi! Once you pair the ESR Rebound 360 Keyboard case with bluetooth to your iPad Pro, it will remember the connection and automatically connect the next time. It works well. As far as battery life for your iPad Pro, the ESR Rebound 360 isn't drawing on the iPad's power when it is being used, so it theoretically should make the iPad Pro's charge last longer. I haven't tested that out, however. And I think you are going to get better protection in a backpack with the ESR keyboard case as compared with the Apple Magic Keyboard because you have protection on the sides of your iPad Pro due to the inner case. Plus, you have a strap to keep it closed...something the Magic Keyboard lacks. And the trackpad on the ESR keyboard case seems very similar to the one on the Magic Keyboard, and it does support multi touch gestures. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!!

      I’m not reviewing products for the 13 inch, just the 11 inch, but I will hopefully be reviewing the ESR Ascend for the 11 inch 2024 iPad Pro soon. Stay tuned!

      @Ciangi87, the ESR Ascend Keyboard Case for the iPad Pro 2024 11 inch has a function key row. I just got my review sample from ESR and the keyboard case has many good things about it. I think the Rebound 360 is still a better product, though. Stay tuned for an Ascend review coming up soon!

      Hi Alex! I've heard good things about the Logitech Combo Touch Case, for sure. I hope to review it in future. Of course, it is twice the price of this ESR keyboard case...

    Magic Keyboard wins because it is does not have battery and you don't need to worry to charge two devices. Peace

    • @TheTechReviewer
      @TheTechReviewer  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi @CASTET777! Totally get your point. The Magic Keyboard is a fantastic product...super lightweight, great magnets, no need to charge or pair. I love mine! But it is very expensive and perhaps a bit out of some people's budgets after they have paid the big bucks to get the iPad Pro M4. So I think the ESR Rebound 360 is an option to consider. Plus, you do get additional protection for your iPad Pro with the Rebound 360 due to the inner case, and you also get the option for a few different iPad orientations.
      Thanks so much for watching, and have a great weekend!

    • @TheTechReviewer
      @TheTechReviewer  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You mean can the iPad be magnetically attached to the Rebound 360 Keyboard Case without using the inner case? Unfortunately, no. The previous generation for the 2022 iPad Pro M2 used to be able to do that (albeit with fewer positions and reduced magnetic strength), but this year's version can't.

      Not this version, but ESR has a version which is compatible (at least according to the info on ESR's site and on Amazon): amzn.to/3V1ziZu (affiliate)
