      It's not mentioned but Yanaka Ginza is extremely nice. It's used as a movie location when directors want to show " real " Tokyo instead of the kind of artificial Shinjuku and Shibuya. December in Tokyo can be really harsh. The weather comes down from Siberia and dumps snow in the mountains but in Tokyo it is just cold, dry wind.

    You are by far my favorite youtubers on the hidden gems in Tokyo. We are planning a trip in October and I am going to avoid some of the tourist traps and check out some of the places you recommended. The challenge is we only have 5 days there, and I don't know what to prioritize our very first visits to the world biggest city! lol
    By the way, what do you recommend for theatre and shows (or theme cafes, restaurants)? Japan is known for so many corky restaurants.

    • @harblife
      @harblife  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am glad I could help you out! Honestly, just pick out the things you think are the most appealing and go there! I would just advise you make sure you know the location of all these areas. Some of them are really spaced out and you must consider the travel time, especially if you only have 5 days here.
      Pretty much most of the areas I know in Tokyo are the ones in my videos. Just check them out and you'll see the cafes/restaurants I recommend!

    For me I think Monzen Nakacho,... it's on the Tozai line so really easy to go there,... lots of mom-and-pop shops and Tomioka Hachimangu. Near Haneda airport there is Kamata with black water public baths but I think there is too much prostitution there.

    • @harblife
      @harblife  2 ปีที่แล้ว
