I have bipolar and anxiety disorder. Kenny Chesney has been a big part of my life since I was 7 years old when my mom handed me The Road and The Radio album. I literally know every lyric to basically every song Kenny has ever released from The Road and The Radio until now. I'm 20 now, and last month(June 28th) my mom and I got into an argument. I had just woken up and my gas light was on so I needed gas money in order to get to work. Well, due to all of the frustration and worried about being late to work (it was my second day) due to her arguing with me, I went manic on her and within the midst of yelling I put my hands on her shoulders and shook her. After that, she gave me the gas money which she lied about not having and I knew she had... On my way to work I wanted to call her and apologize for how I acted but I decided to give us some space. I had made plans to go home after work and talk to my mom about becoming inpatient at a psychiatric hospital so I could get back on my medication. About 3 hours into work the cops showed up and arrested me for assault on a family member- 3rd degree. It's July 30th, I haven't had a conversation with my mother since June 28th when we had the argument because of the no contact order the state has between us. My mom tried dropping the charges but the state already picked them up. I'm not a violent person. I've never been in a fight, nor have I ever punched anyone. I love my mom, I would never hurt her physically and I never meant to hurt her emotionally. I was in jail for 3 and 1/2 weeks, when I got out of jail, I found out that I couldn't get my job back due to being arrested on the job...Kenny released Better Boat, the next day. I honestly believe in some way God's timing had something to do with this because this song helped me feel a sort of "okayness" I guess, about the situation. I'm riding the waves I can't control(I can't control what the judge decides) but in the meantime I'm learning how to be a better boat. I pray to God that somehow the state will drop the charges so I can go back home and give my mom a big hug. I let God do what he does and I believe the space my mom and I have had will bring us closer than we've ever been. I used to be jealous of the relationship my mom has with my older sister and my mom is 61, I believe everything happens for a reason and I just hope this was God's way of showing me to be happy with the relationship I do have with her and to build and grow on what we do have rather than mourn over what we don't. I'm not really sure why I felt the need to comment my story and how Kenny's music aspires or inspires me but I hope whoever read this gets a sense of hope with whatever situation they are dealing with. I like this background and set up better than the contemporary wall behind them on some of your videos. It just gives more of a feel to the video as though I am getting to sit in on a conversation, rather than watching a show with a pretty background. Your guests often come across as a lot more relaxed as well this way, than when they're sitting in that chair in front of that metallic background.

That song was written about relationships and rebuilding broken hearts and destroyed emotions and that's how I viewed it and received it from the get go and I think that's how most people do receive it because that's how it was meant to be received so the fact that you sat on a beautiful song like this for 6 years until something happened in your own life that made thus song matter to just you makes you a narcissistic prick
