Great video! Visited Niagara Falls last year and only had a quick visit to Toronto before heading home. Coming back next year for a longer stay in Toronto and this video has helped in finding a few things to do. Thanks! :)
Pretty close actually - very similar, but Chicago does a better job with its waterfront I think. I live in T.O and love it, but I've been to Chicago as well and there are certainly parts of it that are exactly like T.O, and certain parts that are definitely nicer.
+NSinTO I guess that you have not visited Chicago's inner city - read third world ghetto section. Do you know that the urban gurus Jacobs and Fuller both left the place. Jacobs moved to Toronto. Are you aware of Toronto's global reputation as THE city of the future? And, I forgot to mention that Metropolis Magazine - a US publication ranked Toronto number one on the planet as the best place to live. I don't believe that Chicago ever held that distinction.
What about Casa Loma? Yorkville? Toronto Islands? St.Lawrence Market? Kensington Market? Toronto Clubbing District at King West? Dundas Square? The Beaches?
Listen here u. It seems to me you come from a very poor country ,village and u haven’t seen anything in your life. Do you call Yorkville a place for hanging out ?? Where everyone has no money completely broke using their credit cards to show off with hotl renfrew bag walking around the block shut the fuck up
Yeah, we did an escape room game at Casa Loma at it was excellent! And yeah, I definitely included Dundas Square in my video as well as Centre Island and The Distillery District.
I think you should travel more because if you have been to other large cities such as New York or Chicago, you would realize that Toronto is probably one of the largest and friendliest cities you can visit in North America. Of course, the pace is faster but compared to many other large cities I have visited, Toronto is quite tame and most people who travel here from abroad compliment how friendly, helpful and courteous Torontonians are.
I'm a native Torontonian, and while I probably would have substituted a few of these "top things", this video IMO was still surprisingly good for under 5 minutes. Not bad. :)
By public transit (TTC), there should be a 165E departing Wilson subway station during the summer months that will take you to Canada's Wonderland, I think an extra fare is required though.
Regent Park is a rough area in the east end of downtown. If there is an area you want to avoid, that would be it. But Toronto is a pretty safe city all around and I don't think you'll have a problem walking anywhere downtown!
as a tourist in any country I like the off beat places. Kensington Market and High Park or the Beach would be my top things to do. I hate malls. But that is just me. Off the grid no commerce more real life.
Yep, I know Toronto has the film festival, but side note: the TIFF is for movies. "Theatres and shows" at the royal alexandra theatre and etc. refers to like musicals and shows and etc., not movies.
Toronto Raptors are big in Toronto. . They got one of the best fanbase in the NBA especially after the playoffs and Drake being their mascot. #WeTheNorth
Your walking distance from Queens Park which houses our Provincial government, more of an architectural interest but just north of QP is the ROM museum. St. Lawrence market should be a good 10-15min walk located on Front St. & Jarvis and if you do eventually hit the CN Tower, our harbor front is right near the foot of the building. Look up Toronto.com or .ca (I can't remember which) for some of the city's many spring/summer festivals scheduling permitted.
it's good but perhaps should be top 25 things. It needs the hockey hall of fame, casa loma castle, toronto islands, maybe some parks and natural things to see.
I would have included the St Lawrence Market...and taking a ferry to the islands. Those are pretty major sights in the city!! I worked as a tour guide in the city, trust me. And scratch Fran's...you can easily get better breakfast.
Try walking along the harbourfront or rent a bike and bike the harbourfront path, going to the Toronto Islands, taking a ride on queen streetcar from one end to the other, High Park, the CNE, Canada's Wonderland, walk along King St West,
Generally Torontonians are pretty friendly to pretty much anyone who's friendly to them, regardless of whether or not you're foreign. We're pretty accustomed to foreigners and different cultures, as dustymiller says, we're a very diverse city.
May be biased but nothing like Toronto!! Although I haven't even got a chance to check out everything on this list, nice vid! Definitely have to visit some of those spots in the summer. Check out some downtown scenes on the Late Night video on my page!
Speaking for myself, I treat anyone I meet in the same way that they approach me. Of course, it doesn't hurt to be polite and smile even to those people who don't do the same. Luckily for you, I'd have to say that Toronto is the most culturally diverse city in North America, if not, the world! Thus, we citizens, being used to such a diverse and culturally unique environment, all have a friendly attitude towards anyone. (To be fair, like any other city, we have the odd "idiot" now and then.)
I've lived here for 15 years and I'm 16, almost 17 and I gotta say I definitely love Toronto, it's my home. ALTHOUGH it gets quite boring. So reconsider moving here if you always want to be entertained because after a while it feels like it's the same old, same old. King St. West is REALLY livened up on Saturday nights, no doubt about it. It's i guess you could say the "clubbing district" and college st. is quite live aswell on weekend nights. Theres nothing really special about the inside of The CN Tower, it's boring. Definitely check it out but once would DEFINATELY be enough. If I'd choose over Toronto to New York City, NYC would DEFINATELY be the winner. But then again, NYC is very expensive to live in. (great areas). Its expensive here too but then again it depends what you're living in and where it's located (condo, house, downtown, etc)
every website I go and every video is talking about museums and theatres and fucking malls. Like bro I have already seen all these shit in my city! what about some good fun things like night life? beach activities? ... honestly museum???
Toronto has no where close to the risks you encounter in big American cities like Chicago or NYC (as nice to look at as they are). You're good to take the appropriate amount of caution as you would anywhere, and you'll be fine, farthest from danger you've ever been while travelling. I lived in Toronto 2 years, and in the GTA for 9 growing up.
Personally, I lived in Toronto for four months (supposedly in the red light district) - and think it was one of the safest cities I've been to. Never felt at any risk.
Well houses in a good neibourhood start usually 650,000 +. Condos start at about 300,000. Most other things are priced as other relatively big cities. Also remember toronto is one of the most safest big cities in north america.
No, at houses right now average about $500, 000 to $800, 000, unless if you go to Bridle Path, those are the richest houses in Toronto, Drake used to live there.
Yeah, they are closing down for a possible condo development or posh residental/office. It is definitely sad because Honest Ed's is such a huge part of our culture.
@ChillChickChannel My mum and I want to see the Niagara falls, so we were going to stay in Toronto. Are there some areas we should avoid, and of course are there any good vintage shops. :)
I'm from Toronto and it's a great city to live in I love it, Unfortunately Ed Mirvish the owner his son David sold Honest Ed's after his father died, I believe it was sold in 2009 but I'm not 100% sure.
I'm gonna be in Toronto for 2 1/2 Days in the Middle of August, I'm gonna be splitting my time between CN Tower, Casa Loma, NHL Hall of Fame, Royal Ontario Museum, High Park, Eaton Centre and the Whirlpool Aero Car. Would I be ale to do all that ?
Um.. I live in the distillery district and it wasn't mentioned. It should have been in the top 10. Toronto summers are great(born and raised)... Besides that your looking at very long winters. Renting my place out and Moving to Jacksonville, Florida. Benefits of having families at both borders lol. 😛
Just realized this video was made in 2010. To all you locals or visitors.. If you haven't yet, check out distillery district in the summer and during the Christmas market .
If you're Canadian, you need to learn to embrace the winters. Buy yourself a good jacket and some snowmobiles or Ice fishing huts or something. I used to not enjoy the winter. Then I got myself a nice Klim jacket and a couple Ski Doos and now I cant wait for the winter every year. The winter is a beautiful time of year, I'll never understand why so many people hate it. Learn to get out and embrace it instead of sitting inside moping around waiting for summer. Part of what is great about Canada is the four distinct seasons, I couldn't do summer all year long.
On 27 February 1977, while Keith Richards was staying in a Toronto hotel, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police found heroin in his room and he was charged with "possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking" - an offence that under the Criminal Code of Canada can result in prison sentences of seven years to life. The charge against him was later reduced to "simple possession of heroin."
Not a bad list. However, referencing China town and not mentioning Kensington Market which is just around the corner is a big miss for me. I would add to this list the following which would give you a taste of Toronto Localeese : St. Lawrence Market, Evergreen Brickworks and the Distillery District.
No mention of the Art Gallery of Ontario? What about Black Creek Pioneer Village? The Provicial Legislature? Ontario Science Centre? Casa Loma and Spadina House? High Park? One man's top ten is another's bottom ten . . that's life, I suppose. . . .
Greetings all. I'm planning on moving to Toronto soon. Can anyone explain to me where it would be best for a first timer like me to move to? I.e. Best part of the city, neighborhoods suburban region etc. Much appreciated.
+Sadib Tahsan - If you like the third world by all means - choose either - Panama City or Havana - certainly the weather is nicer - but let's face it even the UN classifies them as third world. The reason that people migrate to North America is to live in the first world. You can' t reasonably deny that!
Your video is great. I would have never thought Toronto has that much to offer. I need to do more research on this destination.
i am so glad you mentioned the ROM because i lived here for 24 years and i just went there,it was awesome
So shopping and shopping and then eating... got it :) actually thanks for the video. will check a lot of these out on our visit to Toronto.
There's a lot more things to do then then. EXPLORE.
Is it bad that I live in toronto and have no idea what to do here?
Melvin The Goat set a schedule do the things you want first then go down the list day by day
Melvin The Goat Dont worry man, I've lived here for 29 years, right across from the Rogers center now and I still dont know what the hell to do.
Melvin The Goat same
there's nothing to do here
because there's nothing to do here and if there is, it's expensive
i live here, yes
This was a really good video! He is really informative..non-pretentious and he did hit the TOPS!
Great video! Visited Niagara Falls last year and only had a quick visit to Toronto before heading home. Coming back next year for a longer stay in Toronto and this video has helped in finding a few things to do. Thanks! :)
Really great video. Well researched, well filmed and well presented. Only been once to Toronto - loved the place. Thanks. Graham
This just makes me more excited for my trip to Toronto today. (I live in Ontario, so its not too far.)
Toronto in winter is hell on earth,I am from Malta, I lived in toronto for 20 years, but i could not take it any more.
Toronto looks cool. It reminds me of Chicago a little
T.O is amazing I live there 😀
Toronto is way better compared to Chicago lol.
Pretty close actually - very similar, but Chicago does a better job with its waterfront I think. I live in T.O and love it, but I've been to Chicago as well and there are certainly parts of it that are exactly like T.O, and certain parts that are definitely nicer.
Crime rates lower that pretty much the difference
+NSinTO I guess that you have not visited Chicago's inner city - read third world ghetto section. Do you know that the urban gurus Jacobs and Fuller both left the place. Jacobs moved to Toronto. Are you aware of Toronto's global reputation as THE city of the future? And, I forgot to mention that Metropolis Magazine - a US publication ranked Toronto number one on the planet as the best place to live. I don't believe that Chicago ever held that distinction.
I will move to Toronto *-*
I would like to be a Canadian.
And we will do it! :)
:))
Toronto is awesome! Good luck!
Thank u mrs taylor :))
You're welcome.
What about Casa Loma? Yorkville? Toronto Islands? St.Lawrence Market? Kensington Market? Toronto Clubbing District at King West? Dundas Square? The Beaches?
Listen here u. It seems to me you come from a very poor country ,village and u haven’t seen anything in your life. Do you call Yorkville a place for hanging out ?? Yeah, we did an escape room game at Casa Loma at it was excellent! And yeah, I definitely included Dundas Square in my video as well as Centre Island and The Distillery District.
Remember, it's a TOP TEN list. If it was a top 20, I'm sure the places you mentioned would be included here. Theres only so many things to do in T.O
To add on your list, the aquarium, the waterfront, the rec room, the train museum, massive hiking trails etc.
I visited Toronto and I gotta say Canadians are awesome. I'm going to move somewhere in Canada soon.
I think you should travel more because if you have been to other large cities such as New York or Chicago, you would realize that Toronto is probably one of the largest and friendliest cities you can visit in North America. Amaziiing!! I miss Toronto too much!!

I want to go there next summer. Did Vancouver this summer. Did Quebec nearly twenty years ago. Go Canada!!!
Wow very beautiful the tower the background i loved to see it someday
Excellent video! I feel like boarding the very first plane to Toronto; will check if there is any direct flight Rio de Janeiro - Toronto!
i deeply desire so much to go and see Toronto I've been wanting to go there for long long periods of time
By public transit (TTC), there should be a 165E departing Wilson subway station during the summer months that will take you to Canada's Wonderland, I think an extra fare is required though.
Great video, thanks guys! A massive help.
Regent Park is a rough area in the east end of downtown. If there is an area you want to avoid, that would be it. But Toronto is a pretty safe city all around and I don't think you'll have a problem walking anywhere downtown!
Visit Nathan Philip square in the winter! They have a free skate rink. It's so cool
So much more chill now.. After the vid was made
So much to do! Well done.
I live in Toronto now and I love it , I also lived in London(UK), and personally I find Toronto boring when I compare it to London..
Thanks for your video..Im going to toronto in a few weeks very helpful :)
as a tourist in any country I like the off beat places. Kensington Market and High Park or the Beach would be my top things to do. I hate malls. But that is just me. Off the grid no commerce more real life.
Irma Romano Those are good choices too :]
Yep, I know Toronto has the film festival, but side note: the TIFF is for movies.
"Theatres and shows" at the royal alexandra theatre and etc. refers to like musicals and shows and etc., not movies.
Very nice city! I hope to move to Toronto next year! 💪
+eda mustafaraj where are you now?

For Renovations

What about the Toronto Raptors man?
what about them?
Toronto Raptors are big in Toronto. . They got one of the best fanbase in the NBA especially after the playoffs and Drake being their mascot. #WeTheNorth
Yes terryyy
ya'll might as well thank Drake! :-)

excellent job. i live in canada and out of 10 things to do in Toronto i need to do three.
it's good but perhaps should be top 25 things. It needs the hockey hall of fame, casa loma castle, toronto islands, maybe some parks and natural things to see.
i appreciate the diversity of this city
Do you happen to know if the Toronto Maple leaf hockey also plays in the summer? like in June 2019?
i am excited to explore Toronto on July 1 to July 5..
I would have included the St Lawrence Market...and taking a ferry to the islands. Those are pretty major sights in the city!! I worked as a tour guide in the city, trust me.

I hear that, I want to see more outdoorsy landmarks that arnt total tourist traps
Toronto's night life is the best
try visiting vancouver man in the summer
You forgot the Islands, Kensington Market, St. Lawrence Market, Yorkville, and The Beaches amongst other sights. Fran's? The PATH? Really?
true!!! I definitely love Kensington market and the Islands (all year long)
Matt Gallant I thought the same thing!!!
I want to move to the Toronto area or somewhere within a half hour of the city I live in the USA now hopefully I will like Canada better.
Toronto has no where close to the risks you encounter in big American cities like Chicago or NYC (as nice to look at as they are). You should have put Festivals on the list. Festivals in general. (Art, Music, Film, Doc, Food) There's always something going on.
I think I will move to Toronto or Montreal
Madison bar is perfect to drink some beers, is close to spadina station...
What about the NHL Hall of Fame? It's a must see for EVERY die hard hockey fan!
I was in toronto and montreal last year.
I've been to the one on Yonge & College and it was good.
Hey, guys, I have a question... Toronto is an expensive city to live?
Well houses in a good neibourhood start usually 650,000 +. Condos start at about 300,000. Most other things are priced as other relatively big cities.
Also remember toronto is one of the most safest big cities in north america.
Yup houses in the city 1 million
No, at houses right now average about $500, 000 to $800, 000, unless if you go to Bridle Path, those are the richest houses in Toronto, Drake used to live there.
To live and have fun yes. Especially in the core. But if you're living in the outskirts it's fine
LMFAO, I live in Toronto and I've learned some things watching this :P Thanks!
No virus this time. So cool.
Love the Eaton Center! :)
I live in Vancouver and im going to visit toronto in May
I live in India and I am also visiting Toronto in may
+Vivaan Rane Your going to love Ontario great place, awesome people.
+An EveryDay Canadian my godfather is a coach there
+Vivaan Rane whats he Coach, Torontos got a lot of Great Teams!
+serena ily trust me, west coast is better, you don't realize how good you have it
I wonder if they took the revolving restaurant idea from San Antonio.
St. Lawrence and Kensington Market should be on the list too
Yonge and dundas square? And btw eaton center isnt the biggest department in the world and its not the biggest tourist attraction in toronto
Centre Island must have been in the list!!
Watching this in 2019 tho
How about the islands? They're also a must-see! :)
cant wait to move to ontario from montreal!
Cool, you guys should include info like prices and addresses for those who do not know.
Yeah, they are closing down for a possible condo development or posh residental/office. It is definitely sad because Honest Ed's is such a huge part of our culture.
3:14 Sadly Honest Ed's isn't there anymore, replaced by condos. Toronto has changed a lot in 10 years.
@ChillChickChannel My mum and I want to see the Niagara falls, so we were going to stay in Toronto. Are there some areas we should avoid, and of course are there any good vintage shops. :)
Great video like a lot :)
Ryder Benson Oh dude me too, Im going to Toronto on the 3th of August, and stay there 25 days.
So your gonna be in Toronto for 3 1/2 Weeks, for what ?
And Honest Ed's Is Closed I Think Some Other Store Toke Over I Think?
What's 2nd best for theatres/broadway shows? Of course New York is 1st. Didn't know Toronto was 3rd. I'm guessing Vegas is 2nd?
Um.. I live in the distillery district and it wasn't mentioned. It should have been in the top 10. Toronto summers are great(born and raised)... Besides that your looking at very long winters. What about science center. Its not the best but pretty popular in NA. Even if you don't like science (like me) its still a great place to go to.
still trying to decide if i want to move to toronto to go to UT !!!! But im from vancouver and idk anyone there : (

where is Casa Loma? The only real castle in north amarica!
I believe it was at the end of Spadina Drive. The north end, I want to say? I highly recommend, they have great escape room games!
I might go to Toronto to see my cousin and this is what I might wanna do
Are you in the US? Do what i did. Move to buffalo, Its a one hour drive.
Not a bad list. However, referencing China town and not mentioning Kensington Market which is just around the corner is a big miss for me. I would add to this list the following which would give you a taste of Toronto Localeese : St. Lawrence Market, Evergreen Brickworks and the Distillery District.
I wanna move to the 6 so bad.
.
lovebeautyco ...don't bother...Toronto is over-rated

Toronto is a very safe city. Just stay clear of Regent Park and you will be fine.
And the Art Gallery of Ontario....and Kensington Market!! You know what, forget this video.
Thanks for sharing God bless..
have you been to both cities.
