Thank You Gylfi for the update. Yes I have noticed your absence but I was sure that you have been very busy. Be careful on the icy roads. Best wishes and Kind Regards from NZ
I assume Grindavik was evacuated due to the smoke & ash-- are people back home now, or will it be a little while longer? How awful that this keeps happening 😢 Love from Washington, DC
Those tiny cars and people 😳 great arial shots showing the scale of the area cocerned. All the best thoughts for people of Iceland. Thanks for all the updates from U.K.
You’re the first video I’ve seen of this eruption. It’s good to hear that it’s not in a bad spot and likely a shorter one. Grindavik needs a break. Your explanation using the beautiful footage you already have was very clear and easy to understand. The reporters need to have a watch. It is understandable that with winter conditions you wouldn’t immediately drive there. Looking forward to your new video and catching up. (US elections…. plus a cat colony trap-neuter-release project….) Greetings from rainy Northern California! ✌️😎💜🇮🇸
Thanks Gylfi. My middle son and his girlfriend were in Iceland last week. I think they even managed to get to the blue lagoon. However, they've missed out on seeing an eruption. Cant have everything though. Dont go driving huge distances in the snow. Its hairy enough when its a short distance....Stay safe.
Thank you for another informative well filmed video Gylfi. Best wishes from a cold, snowy and icey England. Snow has arrived early for the UK this year. 🏴 🇬🇧
Merci beaucoup pour ces informations sur votre beau pays...Salutations de France où il fait un très beau soleil avec de petite température froide de 2°C...
I agree with Katla's statement all the same some of the earth sciences are very hard to predict even with vast training and state of the art equipment,I hope and pray for the best for this area of Iceland in the comeing months and years.
Thank you for the information. A nice surprise this time, hopefully it will be a lighter eruption. You're right, it would indeed mean al lot to people to be able to spend Christmas in Grindavik. Take care with the winter roads 👍.
Awesome update, been keeping an eye on this area, following your videos as well, first i heard of the new eruption thank you. love your work, keep it going.
Many thanks for your very appropriate update with this "surprise" eruption...it came earlier than I expected too! Safe travels, Gylfi. Looking forward to your Vogar video in your Icelandic town series.
Hello my old YT friend…we’re back again from volcanic New Zealand checking on your news about another Iceland eruption. Thanks for keeping us informed.
Night-time footage is mesmerizing. Similar to staring at the hot coals of a camp fire, but scaled up. Good to hear not too much in danger at this point.
Thanks for the update on eruption number 10. That is good timing for the local villages. Perhaps the families can have a home Christmas this year. Drive safely if you do head out for your own footage. Be safe 🎉
Gylfi: If this eruption turns out to be as short-lived as you expect, it wouldn’t make any sense to travel all that way unless there’s sometbing very different about it that’s worth documenting for yourself. There’s already plenty of coverage. You *_definitely_* do not need to risk the long journey in snow and dIminishing hours of daylight for another minor eruption. The lava flow is self-documenting, after all. It will still be there on your next planned trip. Stay safe, my friend. - Vito 😎
Thank you so much for your enjoyable updates and all of your hard work! Love everything you do! I am also a lover of Icelandic Horses! I've been wondering where most of the horses are and always have concern over the herds during the eruptions! Sending love and respect from NE OHIO... Sheri The Organic Pet Lady
Thank you, Gylfi, for the update. This one took everyone by surprise. I'm glad Grindavik is safe. We missed you but you did say you would be working on your films for different projects. Stay safe out there.
Great footage for understanding topograpical situation in relation to Reikjanes geological features. Thanks! I hope with you for a quiet CHristmas for all on Reikjanes.
For the time being, I'm glad that things didn't go bad for your people. As you have been saying the lave didn't go where it was not wanted. The eruption was smaller than expected. The release in pressure means that there won't be another eruption for a good while. God has been good to you, this winter. I hope you guys will continue to do well.
Wishing you strength and success and hope all may return home before Xmas best wishes and prays from Australia. I can see you have not lost your touch, stunning photography.
Thank you, Gylfi, for the update and information. Since the live cameras from Mila are no longer an option for viewing our favorite places in Iceland, you are our very favorite source of information.
Thank you Gylfi for your succinct and most informative report and analysis about this surprisingly timed eruption. Glad you didnt leap in the car and dash off into the snowy night. I get the feeling this may be one of the short and sweet eruptions, so there may not be much point. Kind wishes from sunny Australia. 🎉
Good morning Gylfi and all. What a surprise this was. More so because just yesterday (November 20) a decrease in inflation rate was discussed by professor Shawn Willsey. Thanks for the first helicopter images, always so spectacular to see the lava flows from the air.
Thanks for your video. I hope these eruptions will continue to produce beautiful material from you. The last part, with lava descending a slope thickly covered with plants and rocks was a great recording. People whose homes are threatened seem to get as much help as possible. Iceland is so much better at helping its people under these problems than so many countries in the world, even some wealthy ones. It's not perfect, nothing is, but it's better than most people in the world can hope for.
As always, I think it's wonderful how you explain and show everything. But I also discovered something I had never seen before: I was first distracted by the snow, but then at 6:31 the light from the traffic light. A heart for Gylfi!!!
As usual, thank you for providing a straightforward, clear overview of the eruption. I was completely lost last night without your arrows and maps situating the fissure.
Thank you again Gylfi. Your updates are very much appreciated. I hope some of Iceland's news media watch your YT channel. From your channel they could get clear information and a lesson or two in what to broadcast. [edit] You are better at understanding what to use for content in a broadcast. You list the facts as facts and then identify opinions as guesses. It seems that Iceland's media is incapable of saying " _this thing_ is a fact but _that thing_ is a wild-ass guess." People appreciate the distinction and keep coming back for more. (What a concept.)
Many thanks for your kindness :) it's a bit tricky to sort the fact from opinions but it's the only way in my opinion to report this responsibly so i try, and i appreciate your comment :)
Take care, Gylfi. You don't need to drive snowy mountains at night, we'll be here.
Prayers for the people and Iceland. Impressive you are with mother earth giving birth and creating new land ❤
Much appreciated and welcome :)
Thank You Gylfi for the update. Yes I have noticed your absence but I was sure that you have been very busy. Be careful on the icy roads. Best wishes and Kind Regards from NZ
As if he gives a sh1t about your post.
thanks gylfi
i'm glad grindavik was spared
Many thanks and always welcome to Grindavik :)
I assume Grindavik was evacuated due to the smoke & ash-- are people back home now, or will it be a little while longer? How awful that this keeps happening 😢 Love from Washington, DC
The country of fire and ice 🔥❄️💙
Happy to see you again
Welcome back :)
Thank you Gylfi for the update! Hopefully no more surprises. In the meantime you stay safe for all of us!
best regards my friend. always choose your own safety. dont drive. heal when sick. we will be here when you post. :)
Those tiny cars and people 😳 great arial shots showing the scale of the area cocerned. All the best thoughts for people of Iceland. Thanks for all the updates from U.K.
Always amazing videos! Stay safe Iceland! ❤
Thank you! Will do!
Thank you, Gylfi! This one took us by surprise ;)
It sure did, and it's not over...

Thank you Gylfi here we go again but so far not as bad as feared. Stay safe and hope all goes ok.
Thanks Gylfi. My middle son and his girlfriend were in Iceland last week. I think they even managed to get to the blue lagoon. However, they've missed out on seeing an eruption. Cant have everything though.

Thanks Gyfli - best overview of the area of this latest eruption that I have seen this morning.
Greetings from Germany. As always you have wonderful pictures for us and give us new information
Many thanks :)
I have an uncle from Iceland who married a German gal many years ago and is in the business a seismic activity
Hopefully, this eruption will be short and not damage anything! May everything be able to open back up soon! Thank you for the update!
Looks quite good actually....
Wow, Thank you for the update! After a while of not thinking about it, just last night the vulcano came into my mind... 🌋 Everyone stay safe! 🙏

Thank you Gylfi, I've been waiting for your report as you are much better at explaining everything than the newschannels!
Thank you kindly

Much appreciated!
Thanks for the update G. You must have more beautiful stock footage than anybody else on the island!
