Already getting annoyed at starting over. Def don't like the mana system. The game basically is making you lose until you mass unlock to increase grind and game time
I bought this game today since it's on sale. The Edition with DLC wave 1 + 2 only costs 9,99 ... and I played around 1 hour by now. The bravely default look is so cool and it is 100 % worth the money so far.
I came here late, but I'm surprised Square Enix didn't make this because this is the exact artstyle they use for some of their cute-style games. I'll be getting this one. Thanks for the review.
I believe the artist that worked on Bravely Default also worked on this game. For whatever reason the artist left SquareEnix which is weird considering they've been around before Square and Enix became one company, that's a long time. Nowadays I think the artist has gone freelance. So I guess Cygames saw him and picked him up to work with them on this game.
Characters are recycled from the mobile game Battle Champs(now defunct). I’m very happy they brought the designs back as they’re very nice. In that game Noah was called Nia. Some of the music was also brought back which is great,
Only missing the 2,500,000 fire and wind damage stuff. I already put 22h into the game and am close to 100%. The game is so good if anyone is unsure about this game, just try it out it only costs 15 dollars.
I bought it mainly because it is re-using an mobile game assets and IP to try something new. I want to see more of that as there are many cool loking mobile games that fail to grab an audience, ending it's server and sending the devs efforts down the drain... I hope Dragalia Lost gets revived like this some day. Glad that the game is good! Played it a buch on release day and I will get back to it after my Monster Hunter fever calms down.
I might give this a shot now. I was actually turned off by Noah's screeching voice during combat in a trailer, but I can look past that for the gameplay haha.
@@TheGamingShelf Sorry for the late reply. I personally really enjoy it, combat starts a bit slow but speeds up once you get more spirits and the music is really memorable.
Hey, have you played HunterX? I don't know which one to buy first, I really can't play both at the same time but I would want to know which one should I try first.
Yeah the first couple of runs can be rough when you're not leveled up but once you get a sense of it things so more smoothly. What system are you playing on?
Is there much replay-ability after completion? This looks cool but I love to sink like 80 hours into a good roguelike . I’ll probably still pick it up anyway
Can someone help me please? Where/how can I keep the liliputs I have collected?? Every time I die I lose EVERYTHING and that’s the only issue I’m having with this game?
I'm an English dub purist 😂 Even if a game looks decent, I'll probably pass if there's only a Japanese Dub. Obviously they paid money for a Japanese dub, you'd think they'd give the game a proper localization with an English dub. If the game looked amazing I might be able to overlook the lack of English voices, but it just looks a little meh. I'll probably have to pass on this one, but it was interesting seeing your gameplay and hearing your thoughts!
@@TheGamingShelf Oh I know the voice acting is probably pretty minimal. I just already have a ton of games in my backlog, so I can't bring myself to add another if it just looks ok and is also missing stuff I like in games.
it is a game wich is not that expensiv. but and it´s a big but.. im a gamer, i had play this game first time on easy. so 40mins for easy clear in this game. then i did hardmode instantly...outch, gett pain in my ass xD but around 5-6 hours later, i done this too and this game can´t give me more.. was fun yeh but in my opinion not worth 15 euro for just a day fun.
Hey man what are your thoughts about Soul Hackers 2 and the "Day 1 DLC" controversy? Do you think it's still worth buying? Will you still pre-order it? A lot of the gaming community seems to be frowning upon the fact that Altus is charging extra for game content (story, characters) in the day 1 DLC that they could've easily added into the game for free.
@@TheGamingShelf update: I've seen some of the reviews about Soul Hackers 2 and now i'm on the fence about purchasing. i was literally about to download the Premium digital edition and decided to research first. negative comments include repetitive dungeon crawling and mediocre B-team low budget development. i guess Persona 5 set the standard very high and people can't enjoy what comes out after it.
Thank you for the review. I picked this up on the switch due to your review. While the game is really great, they need to do something about this frame rate thing.. 30fps is just too low and I am wondering if it's even less than 30 because the game feels very sluggish. If they patched it up and improved the fps, it would be an incredible game!
@@TheGamingShelf Switch! Been playing it a lot since buying it and my above comment remains. They need to do something about that performance but everything else is really great!

What are your thoughts on Little Noah? 🤔
Looks like a cute little game! Not my cup of tea but cool to see whats going on in the indie world of video games
Definitely something I would play 😀Reminds me of The The Binding of Isaac. And castlevania Symphony of the night. Plus not 60$ 😌🙏

Thanks for the review, I've been eyeing it for a while & it's got a decent sale on the Switch eShop.
I saw this game once several months ago and its been in the back of my mind ever since. That tends to be how I end up picking my games.
It looks like bravely default because it has the same character designer
Akihiko Yoshida for those that read your comment.
Thanks for this! I was completely in the dark as to this game but I’ve just added it to my Switch wishlist to get next week
Awesome! Glad you found it helpful.
It looks like Bravely Default, because it is the same character designer, Akihiko Yoshida.
Ah well there you go! Didn't know that.
Bought it day one on Steam!
So glad it's not switch-exclusive
Apparently they're gonna release a free update along with DLC in August
I saw there was a special edition listed on their website but wasn’t sure what it was for. Thanks for letting me know!
@@TheGamingShelf You're welcome!
The concept feels like Ender Lilies, but the attack animation looks like Smash.
What a great combo!
Oh that why she looked familiar... grandblue😂
Thank you for this review! I was just wondering if you were going to post this earlier today :)
Haha thanks for watching! I meant to post it earlier in the week but work kind of got in the way. Thoughts?

I mostly played this game while listening to podcasts and I highly recommend doing the same ;)
awesome review! not much my type of game but showing love to ya Taylor
Thanks buddy ;)
Little noah is from Android game Battle Champs
Noah's outfit looks a lot like Agnes' dress from Bravely Default.
The "not attacking directly" thing makes me think of a Metroidvania called Ender Lillies.
Lots of people have been bringing that up! I've been wanting to check it out. Is it any good?

I think it's based on the mobile game but yeah definitely plays a little different!

What's a "roguelike"? Don't assume people know these things.
I wish the gaming community (mostly devs) didn't keep stretching the definitions of genres. It makes them useless. This game does look fun, however.

@@TheGamingShelf no. It's a roguelite. According to the Berlin Interpretation, roguelikes are turn based and grid based, like the game Rogue.
