Well, we shall see how this turns out. It’s in the oven now. You made the pie crust look so simple but mine didn’t look quite as pretty! I guess it takes experience.
Hi Nancy! Thanks for trying the recipe. I does take experience... but trust me... now that you've made your first many more will follow! Hurray! Way to go, you!
PIE! Pie, pie, pie, pie, pie, pie! LOL, love the ending! Your enjoyment of your own yummy pie just made me happy :-). I know i've stated it before, but your instruction is fabulous AND you are fun to watch; thank you for another great recipe!
Hi Aliyah - thanks for watching and writing in. The trick here is to use our all-butter pie dough crust... and, the almond extract. These two things, along with freshly picked cherries is the way to go. For sure, practice makes perfect - and you'll get to eat lots of pie, before Thanksgiving! Yay!
Thanks, Mark. It's one of my favourites (to eat), something about the almond flavouring. Please also check out the Sour Cherry Pie... now, THAT"S A PIE! Hurray! th-cam.com/video/OuLsaGlly_U/w-d-xo.html
Pie making, especially with fresh fruit, is becoming lost delicacy as so many people are afraid of making the dreaded "crust". Your ease of presentation is great and encouraging and your recipe is user friendly. Lovely video. P.S. Have you tried chocolate ice cream with your cherry pie?
Bmack! Thank you for this very kind comment! Pies are truly a joy... made even more special when you see someone enjoying a wedge... joy! I have NOT tried cherry pie with chocolate ice cream, but now I will, and certainly will think (and thank!) of you when I do. Best regards, N
It looks great but it would really help your viewers if you could update with more precise flour and butter measurements. I used 300 grams of flour (King Arthur says AP is 120 grams per cup) and a cup of butter. Butter is purchased in different sizes and measurements so "sticks" may be difficult for some to figure out.
Hi Hedy... thanks for watching and writing in. Sorry the measurements aren't by weight. For the butter for the pie dough; 1 stick of butter weighs 113.4 g. I buy 4 in a box / each stick measures 1/2 a cup / the entire box weighs 1 pound or 453.6 g. Sorry this wasn't clear.
@Weekend at the Cottage no problem! I think I used the right amount of butter but I was more curious about your flour weight. But it turned out awesome! The whole family loved it and I will reuse your recipe again and again. Thanks!
Hello ,I enjoy your channel so much, 🤗 can you use coconut palm sugar, or the raw sugar, if so you use the same amount, or is it best to use the sugar you used in this recipe 🤗
Hello Charoletta! Thanks for watching and, writing in. I'm not really sure about other sugars, but, I can't see a problem. The cherries here are quite sweet - so - I'd reduce the sugar a bit if using the others that are in a more pure, raw state! Hope you enjoy!
@@Weekendatthecottage Thank you so much for replying 🤗 ,I think I'll use the sugar stated in your recipe 1st 👍🏼🤗because I don't want to miss up this delicious pie, I must try this, I love cherries 🍒 thank you again 🤗
Thank you, wonderful recipe
Thank you, SO much! We really appreciate you watching and trying our recipe. Between us... one of my favourite pies... ever!

Thanks, Debbie!!!! This is a good one - wish I was there to see you're face when you try it!!!! XO
Muchas gracias! Muy bien explicado. Voy a preparar en este momento. Saludos desde Perú!
Thanks, Maria! Best regards from CANADA!
Great job! Thank you very much! I know it's cherry, but it looks more blueberry or blackberry to me.
Thanks, M Ladd - but the taste, 100% cherry. Wait until you try our wild blueberry pie... swoon!
Yes, the pie is darker because sweet dark cherries were used instead of red pie cherries.
Thank you I’m trying this soon to practice for thanksgiving

What kind of cherries?
This pie is BING CHERRIES... but I also have a SOUR CHERRY PIE recipe, if you're so inclined. Enjoy!
