The condition of the body, the undercarriage and the interior are incredible. The engine sounds great, and you will be the center of attention anywhere you drive this beautiful, aggressive car. I love this era of Chevrolet and Ford. This is when America's auto industry wanted to win in every category. Even the small flaws (radio: replace with a nice resto-mod from Amazon, wipers: a novice mechanic can replace those; heater: You take this out on nice, sunny days.) can be considered something you can do to make it more valuable with your own hands.
Very sweet 1958. You'll NEVER find another one in better condition anywhere near this price. One of the sexiest years of Impala made, and the 1st Impala ever made. Original drivetrain more than likely, and once set up correctly, the tri-power is awesome. They aren't as bad as the comments would indicate, but you do have ti drive them to keep them running good. They tend to fall out of sync if stored for any length of time. This car is rock solid - that chrome on the front end! A few minor fixes and you've got an $80K+ ride, and these things are only going up in value. I own a '68 SS, 4 speed fastback. My Pops had a '67 427 SS convertible, 4 speed. Love the '59 also - best dash and cateye tailights, with a trunk big enough to be a hot tub! Impalas kick ass. Beautiful ride, Nick. This one won't last long.
Price is about 10k too much. Transmission lines hang down for easy ripping off. Fuel line too loose and low. Headliner is in poor condition. Tripower not adjusted properly. Needs too much repair and adjustments for the price.
Transmision cooling lines hanging a bit low, $46K is a bit much for some. Interior and everything else is SUPER clean. You guys are great at showing EVERYTHING.
You have the greatest job in the world working around them old cars and being around them all the time. I hope one day once I get healed from this cancer, I get the money to come up here and buy me one.
Well Nick, that is one fine looking 58 Impala. And you're right about the adjustments too. Something isn't dialed in right. With that 6 pack on that old 348 then it seems like to me that you should have been able to burn the tire on that. Not to mention it's not kicking down like it's supposed to either. That's ok though. That's part of the fun of owning a classic like that. Getting under the hood and fine tuning it till it sings like it's supposed to
Yes she will bring love in every way, for she just needs a tune up a long the way and the price is right in every way. Super sweet and I love her in any way.
I don't like tri power setups, they need constant attention. If going custom, I would have gone with a 383 crate with tuned port injection. Trouble free, excellent economy and performance when you want it.
This was the trans cooler of the day. For they put them in for the last 2 years, for they had to take that heavy body around of that day. Just like the HD trucks of today, for they have trans coolers that are basically made the same way. Because they have to pull around the same weight of today.
@@XocolatbenThe smoke you were seeing near the oil pan is the blow by tube. It’s vents to atmosphere on that particular model. Unlike newer smog controlled device cars/trucks that have an EGR valve.
Transmission lines really need to be routed above the frame, not below. These snag and rip off will not be good. People that can not set up 3 dueces, shouldn't put them on engines. Nice looking car, still needs a bit of TLC.
@@XocolatbenGood question on the trans cooler lines. Can’t answer that one. The smoke you were seeing underneath was blow by. On 58 348 Chevrolets there is no EGR valve. It vents to the atmosphere.
Come on man, there's blue over spray on the right head light. Who painted this car and didn't clean up everything. Must have been in a hurry, and tall didn't get down and paint the lower panels and fender edges, hopefully it was cheap $$$

What kind of transmission does that have in it? That pan looks foreign to me it doesn't look like a powerglide, TH350 or TH400 it almost looks like a manual transmission but it's an automatic. Things that make you go hmm
she has a cast iron power glide transmission. my daddy was a car salesman all his life, i grew up on car lots. in 57 and through the early 70s he was selling new chevy's he said when the 57 came out people hated them! the fins were ugly to them. they were a slow seller. but when they released the 58s they were so ugly, all of a sudden, the 57 didn't look so bad! then people bought up all the left over ones. funny how things change.
Watch the Video again,,,, That's no Power Glide, a Power Glide is a 2 speed, This one shifts twice, making it a 3 speed,,, most likely a Turbo 350 which is NOT Standard equipment for a 1958 or even a 1959 for that matter !! It is decent car but I would need to put $10,000 in it to have it as I would want it, not counting a new paint job that was ALL the same color !
@@mikederr4309 when they’re running correctly one of the best but it would cost a small fortune to turn this back to original is basically what I’m saying
It wasn't supposed to be . People will say that I'm lying but I'm not . What we know as the '57 Chevy today , was supposed to be this design . Look at the past , the '49 - '50 are very similar , as are the '51 - '52 , the '53 - '54 , and the '55 - '56 . The '58 design wasn't ready in time for a '57 introduction , so they cobbled up the '57 as a stopgap measure . That Impala would look good parked beside my '58 Sedan Delivery .
Beautiful old Chev, but $46,000 for a car that has a lot of issues? come on man

Outrageous price for this 58. More like $36k
For the price of most of their cars everything should work
@ricardoseymour7257 you both don't buy from classic car dealers do you? A mint conditioned classic can easily reach 60k-120k 😂
We have mo issues selling 50-60 of them a month. I don’t think the prices need to be adjusted at all

My Grandma had one of these back in the day except for the rims.
3 deuces are hard to tune. Really prefer a 4 barrel setup. Beautiful car though.
Tri-powers are hard to set up correctly even in 1958. Probably very few people left who know how.
Otherwise, one of the best looking 58s I’ve seen.
Install the Holley Sniper and that would help this car a ton. Beautiful ride.
Nice paint job. Come down about 10,000 and we’re talking.

First year of the 348 big block being offered too.

This car is so nice, I would fix everything and be proud to drive a 1 year off car.
My dad had one like that. Shame people didn't know to keep these classics cause they traded it away in the late 60's for another Chevy caprice sedan.
Yeah my dad too, black three on the tree
☺️🥰👍
They couldn't foresee the cookie cutter nonsense of the future.
Nice Nick ...But OHH THAT MERC ~
Cool 😎 ! Please replace them rubber transmission lines 😢
And run them ABOVE the cross member like they should be, also I didn't know they EVER put a Turbo 350 in a 1958 ? Mine had the 2 speed Power Glide !!!
You could pack six dead mafia goons in that trunk.
58 was such an excellent year for Chevy.
The Coupe DeVille is my fave. My birth year on top!
Possible timing issue & carb cable🧐. Great design of this classic 👍

There's a lot of things going on with that car.
