Beasty: you can find out whether your opponent going to castle or going to rush depends on his units, if he has a lot of units: he os going to kill you Silver player not making units and not going to castle: my goals are beyond your understanding
if you had watched the AI championship you would ALREADY know that beasty doesn't even know the counter system in this game. Obviously its keep > bombard, archers > buildings, nobs > springs... just imagine how good beasty would be if he did the proper counters in his games.
Love the video I’m a long time mongel player but this was the most helpful video yet from you! Really helped me realize what to do in crucial situations that I never knew I was in before! Thank you! Love the content man! So awesome!
I paused the video to comment so I'm going in blind here but I am already imagining the same people from the "Beasty is ruining AOE4" already tearing their hair out and malding at this latest YT upload hahaha
Beasty is wrong about the raid bounty: You only need to do 1 dmg to a building and when that building gets deleted (doesn't matter how long after the dmg was done), you will get the raid bounty IF the building has not been repaired. Because the opponent repaired the mine (in the first example) and then deleted it, Beasty didn't get any raid bounty. Same is true for a building that gets cancelled while being built, as long as you dealt 1 dmg to it, you will receive the raid bounty.
Hello, I am struggling How to play against china by this stra ? cuz even we tower the stone they still have song dynasty so mongol still behind and they just get to castle almost as same as we do so we got no eco advantage and tech as well , then they push out with palace guard + nest bee.
This is interesting to follow your mindset, the sad thing is that then i am also trying to "react" to what my opponent is doing i completely mess up game😥
i dont know how to mongol, but i have a question do they always go for trade to benefit from rapid resoruce gather? (silk road or stone commerce i think its called)
With Mongols I always go two early horsemen. Opponent reacts by making spear man. Then I do Mangudai and take map control by building lots of towers. Sometimes I trade. Works great for me in Platinum / Diamond.
Thats speaking poorly of plat/diamond…. Mangudai is very res inefficient and countered by archer. Not to mention tower all over the place. What are your opponents doing? I havent played for a while, but back then, even at top ~3000 elo or even 4000 elo, if you do inefficient starts like that, you will get clapped every game
@@ecpgieicg Dear friend, be cautious about judging my strategies if 1. you haven't played for a while 2. you say 4000 Elo when there is Max ~2100 Elo for Aoe4. Beasty can confirm 3. And that's also why I shared my experience earlier. If your experience is particular to a narrow elo band, it may not be a good advise for everyone else
@@ecpgieicg OK friend I'm sorry I misunderstood you with the Elo. Let's not be passive aggressive OK? As for the question why I don't climb the ladder I would say its because I don't play regularly in the moment and sometimes I experiment with some new strats. I have two main strats: for open maps I use the previously mentioned Mongol Mangudai tactic and for closed maps I use HRE fast castle. I think I climbed already 2-3 ranks since I established these two strats. I'm pretty confident I could make it to Diamond 3 maybe even Conq at the end of the season. Mind my words ;) What's your rank if play ranked and what's your user name?
@@chatcool4583 I dont play the game anymore. If I get back, I am happy to play with you if you need practice partners. Re rank, that's the thing, you will climb. With 55% WR, it's not only that your rank will increase, your elo will go up and your rank will go up fast. If you keep playing Mongol, your proficiency with it may still allow you to play strats with inefficient res for a while but not for long. And that was my experience as your elo rank goes near and past top 3000. Assuming some player attrition, but also assuming people have gotten better at the game, the relative experience with elo rank shouldnt change much.
Wacky seeing abbasid take economic wing against mongols. I would have tried military wing with an early battering ram to push back towers. Or even a culture wing to reach castle with the 1TC
If you hold shift and right click on each of his spearmen you will queue attack moves on each enemy. Basically, the archers will keep attacking each enemy until they are dead, then move on to the next
what makes tower rush viable for mongols over other civs, like for english for example? tower prices are the same and you don't have yam network for non horse units unless you have deer stones
20:45 moment doesnt work on low rank players, they just counterattack tower with power he used to attack your TC, you cant support it from that range, and that puts them back on line, meanwhile you lost all the army and at least several workers
I know they already attempted to nerf this, but I really wish they'd nerf it further. I main mongol because I enjoy the civ very much, but hate this play style and it sucks having to play them at a less competitive level simply because I don't like tower rushing opponents. This strat is one of the simplest strats out there and is disproportionately effective. Mongols have great mechanics that set them apart from the other civs but now if you see Mongol you think tower rush and it sucks.
Please do Chinese guide, I still don't understand how Chinese can beat French and Mongols on open map sometimes even rush maps. Also why is play defensively and boom with Chinese doesn't seem to work anymore, so many civs will beat them doing booming Strat. 2 TC song is not great anymore it seems.
I think beasty mentioned somewhere in the past that China hasn't changed much in season 3 so it is still fairly safe to use his old season 1 China guide and even his updated season 2 China guide, which also mentions no big change from season 1 hahaha Just keep in mind the beauty of these guides is you can make a custom game with easy AI and try to be as close to the timings of the guide you are following. Like villager rally to wood after X are in food or X are in stone then by X villager you build Y building. So the foundation of the first few minutes of a match are optimized already. This will give you an advantage mid game onward compared to if you just made up your own build. So if you want a beasty China guide, I say season 1 & 2 (which is almost the same as beasty puts it) is out there already. But if you really want a season 3 China specific guide, Aussie Drongo has one on YT.

@liran I didn't say you shouldn't reach late game (although I think most mongol players would prefer not to be spending a lot of time in imperial). I'm saying your only form of defense is having map control, and units. If the enemy is attacking you in your base, all you can do is force them out of your base with units and then I'd recommend immediately attacking and regaining control of the map. Its important to remember that you have unique upgrades as mongols which become really important as imperial age drags on, because other civs have unique units and keeps/defenses so you need a way of levelling the playing field. If you don't like that mongols have no defenses then I'd recommend picking another civ
