The Glide Bomb does actually work, you missed each tank because your plane was strafing, you can't drop it like every other bomb which you was trying to do, you need to line up dead straight with no drifting and then drop it, it will then drop straight, the bomb itself doesn't deviate from course and will do 75 damage to a full health tank, it works for me but it's a complete different playstyle that means you have to actually make yourself vunerable to Fliegers
also you dont need to drop it head on, it can glide far away.

will do 80 damage to a tank. but yes, DO NOT USE THE RUDDER! if you are drifting with the rudder, it will be off-target. going straight, you can slam tanks for 80 damage from outside fleiger range. it can OHK all stationary vehicles from well outside fleiger range. supercharger is a must for this as it gives speed an maneuverability.
i agree that the glide bombs blast radius is a bit smaller than it looks like it should be, but given the range it is accurate at if you aim properly, it'd be overpowered if it had a wider range.
Use the cockpit hud/aim like a Grenade launcher they can glide 0m to 1000m
tbh be honest it works VERY WELL for me. 1 shot any tank on arty. But it means u have to aim right u cant just drop it like u do with bombs like he is trying here

The glide bomb seems like something you have to carefully calculate its aim in addition to the level of your plane, the way you're doing it seems like you're using it as another simple bomb. Remember it's called the *Glide* Bomb, try doing it when your plane is completely level.
That doesn't work trust me I've tried, this bomb sucks, I would set myself up far away from the beachhead and launch it, I even tried going top-down like in the trailer, but every time the bomb would drift off course... And if it did hit the damage was miniscule
You actually have to aim it not just drop it in the vasinity and hope for splash damage
@@larrypeters3675 Yeah, it's not like it's an explosive round with high splash damage that you can fire multiple times in a second, it's a huge ass bomb that you need to aim with pinpoint accuracy, it's not like bombs were made to deal damage in large areas.
@@AzafTazarden considering you can drop this from WELL outside most, if not ALL ground-based AA range, it'd be overpowered if they gave it a huge splash kill radius

And it's still underwhelming with 86 max damage on tanks given the extreme accuracy you need to pinpoint targets.

@@rylanruffles7106 it doesn't one shot tanks, though. The two medium ones do, if you hit them right, that's my favorite loadout in the Pacific planes. An actual challenge, unlike the cheesy 20mm

Yes! I completely forgot to mention this before I swapped over to the rockets but you can see in the first couple of clips near the start of the video some of my more successful glides. Given the amount of chaos in the air in BFV though I don't think the amount of time required to get that good glide lined up is worth it for the damage though even if the rocket pods aren't anything to write home about either.
RangerDave what dice should do In my opinion is extend the damage range but just not make it a one shot and the damage gos down the further out it is this way you have a possibility of getting damage points score

@@RangerDave glide can ohk any stationary weapons, u can´t do this with rockets, i think there are times a glide bomb is the most useful thing you can get, but if there are good pilots in the air, maybe it is a good idea to stick with the rockets

The times 8 rockets are pretty good. Not the most damage against tanks, but you will hit what you aim at every time. Plus, pretty goody at shredding stalling aircraft.

You also have to account for the "drift" mid air since its a glider bomb. Like your plane it will drift too.
So what everyone is trying to say is that use the glide bomb like a V-1 strike or a paper airplane. Fly over at cruise speed, find a good angle to strike, then release before getting too close. It will fly itself to the the target hence the name "Glide" (I've never played BF5 only seen game play so take this with a grain of salt ).

I hate how they’re afraid to give the glide bomb any power but then they turn around and give the fliegerfaust op damage and range on the already most versatile class in the game.
I don't know about versatile. Assaults are pretty useless without Support players to give them ammo.
MadCourier 6 they can still build ammo stations.

Bro you use this wrong. You need to pull back on the throttle so that you dont glide. The bomb glides the way your plane is going to, not the way you aim. I mean it is a glide bomb, not an usual bomb.
Yea.. it is not the most effective thing out there. I swear sometimes it just disappears. Also +81 on tanks maximum too.

What would you advise for this plane then Azura? Ive been trying the 5" and they totally suck! They have massive drop off at distance so u cant even hit ur target from long distance, also the 3" rockets cannot hit planes, lol they just go straight through them lol.

YES. They DO disappear. Many times I have just dropped it and watched from a distance to figure out where it would land, but there was no explosion at all.

@@RangerDave use it as an AT weapon. it will OHK any stationary weapon in the game and will knock tanks for 80 damage.
you cannot use the rudder when lining up this thing unless you compensate for the fact that your plane is now "drifting" as the bomb will glide with the drift not with where you're aiming. practice on stationary cannons. aim at one, make sure you're going in a straight line, 100-150m from target, drop the bomb while aimed at or slightly (like, a couple pixles) above the gun, give yourself a half second to let the bomb fully detach, then hit the supercharger and pull up. hit your reverse camera to see where it landed.
i've moved to pretty much using this plane and the glide bomb exclusively. i don't get the meme-cannon kill counts from diving into fleiger range for infantry, but my team can push with having less armor/air to worry about because i'm setup as a dogfighter with a bomb that can be deployed from outside more ground-based AA range.

You have to AIM it. All you have to do is line up the cross hairs and keep you wings level. It works fine
You are pulling away too early and are drifting to the sides when you drop the bomb. Watch niccaman use it. He found a way to effectively use it to some degree.
you have to remember that the glide bomb travels in a straight trajectory, meaning if they plane is drifting, then the bomb wont go where you're aiming.
On top of that, the bomb goes in a downward arc, not in a straight line. all of your drops were landing short of where you were aiming them

It's like the 1,000 kg&lb bombs unless it's a direct hit they just do nothing they've nerf'd the ever loving hell out of splash damage with the bombs

i use the glide bomb and i get thirty kills just from it you just have to know how to use it
Seems a little glitched on pc. On Xbox it does pretty well m I've gotten a 5 or man feed with bomb before.
You know I was actually hoping that dice would first release the p-51 mustang instead of the corsair but hopefully they would soon release American bombers, and mustang's

Point of glide bomb is that you can drop it from further away, making it safer against fliegerfausts/AA guns. It is fine as it is.

The x8 rocket has been my bread and butter 😂 you pull up too soon from your targets. You gotta really zero in on your target with them and pull up last minute. Once I got the feel down, I just kept racking up bodies 😜. Good stuff tho!

I mean it’s been said a bunch of times, about his diving with it and all, but that’s why it has a rocket reticle. Use it like a rocket not a dive bomb.
Try higher when you release as it need to glide and build up speed it might help also try not to dive or jink at point of release
The 8x rockets work best for me. They don’t have any drop so you can snipe AA installations with them. They can also do a max of 80 damage to a tank

We’re so used to thinking in terms of game mechanics and logic that we don’t even think for a second that some things are meant to be done the way we see them, originally; as in this bomb.
So from what I’ve seen with other TH-camrs using that glide bomb I will say that it seems that the biggest thing with it has been very difficult to use. When they hit target they are very useful.

The worst thing is a direct glide bomb hit on a tank dose only 81 dmg.
From everything I've seen. You have to be aiming at a slight downward angle at the target, don't move the plane at all, and release the glide bomb. If your doing it during even slight turns or adjusting the plane movement in anyway, it will not land where you were aiming with the sight when you release it. So you have to line up your shot in advance, and not move the plane at all during release. Then it lands fairly accurate and you can take out vehicles, stationary weapons, or a tight group of infantry. But the key is you got to be flying very straight for the target and not angled or turning in anyway with the release fire. It's kind of pain to do this will all the other stuff your trying to avoid during game, so the rockets are probably the better choice since they're more forgiving when firing during turns or at tough angles.
All that aiming and it still doesn't have enough damage to kill a tank in one go.
You’re supposed to drop it from really high up. It’s hard to figure out but that’s what they were designed for so the an build up momentum. Not dropping it from 20ft in a nose dive

I think those x8 rockets are supposed to be effective against planes. I'd like to see what you think about their vitality in that role. From using the x4 rockets I've been able to ambush opponents and get the fight off to a good start.
God bf1s vehicles were so much more fun I literally can’t do anything with planes in bf5. I could fully upgrade a plane with war bonds in a few hours but in bf5 you needed to grind the shit out of the vehicle you wanted to have fun with. The heavy bomber was so much fun. But bf5 you get shot down as soon as you spawn with any plane
You already know that carrying macros are cheats because you don't play default like the rest of the players ... now tell me that you have a super mouse, a super pro joysticks ... etc and to those stories you are very seen
The rockets aren’t supposed to be used against infantry, hence the very low splash damage. This Corsair variant is mainly meant for DOGFIGHTING instead of BOMING like the other Corsair. If you prefer air to ground combat, you can use the explosive 20m and incendiary bombs or 800 lb. bomb for tanks. The rockets for this corsair are mainly meant to deal damage against other planes, that’s why the rate of fire is so low. It’s not the weapons fault, you’re just using it wrong.
The 1A is a ground attacker whilst the 1C is a fighter.
Same with the A6M2 and A6M5. On the 1C and M5 i went for the 6x hmg with the 2x heavy rockets,
With the 1A and M2 its 4x 20mm (HE) with the 2x 500kg bombs which can kill a tank in 1 run.
1000kg bomb is worse since it cant kill a tank in one run

The current meta for planes in BFV is pretty boring imo. The 20mm HE is too strong, but with the equally strong Fliegerfaust you just can't make straffing runs with a regular machine gun anymore since you'll get destroyed. The only option now is to shoot the 20mm from out of the FF range and pull out before they can one shot you. The result is every mediocre pilot runs the 20mm only and easily farms infantry with over 50 kills and less than 5 deaths every match. You know they're mediocre by how easily you can kill them in a dogfight, but they still go 50/0 if your team doesn't have decent pilots as well. I think DICE made the explosives too strong, they should have made MMGs fire stronger against planes instead, while buffing the AAs and making it possible for snipers to kill pilots on the cockpit. All that would keep the fun while still requiring some skill to both fly planes or kill pilots instead of the noob friendly explosive meta we have right now. It makes the game boring as a pilot and annoying as infantry, since you still can't deal with pilots unless they get too confortable and fly too close. The only redeeming loadout I've found is tank busting with the 2 medium bombs, that's the most fun I had flying in the Pacific update.
Your first rocket set up is pretty much what ive been running on that model for weeks, good for dog fights and can annoy the hell out of tanks👍
EA and DICE don’t understand that planes SHOULD be OP AF, especially since the pacific flak kills planes in about... three seconds. (I have counted this, it’s awful)

You are doing it wrong. It deals 81 damage on a direct hit on a tank and can also kill infantry but the blast radius is not infinite, you have to be more accurate with it.
Personally I also like the 2x500 bombs more because they deal slightly more damage. The glide bomb is useful if you need to release payload from farther distance due to heavy flieger defense ONCE you practice your aim.
After reading the comments and watching the video.., I've developed a funny feeling that this is a ruse.
Discrediting the bomb, but shows the obvious errors in his flight pattern.

Ironically historically the f4u-1c had heavier armament then the f4u-1a. It had 4 20mm cannons vs the 1as 6 50 cals which were still no joke but not definitely not 20mills
Meanwhile the 2x532lb bombs can one tap a tank if bombs landed precisely and if the tank is not full hp then it’s an easy kill. The other 8x rockets specialization can do similar job but I have to dive straight for so long to land all rockets. I really don’t feel like choosing the second plane on both Japan and US rn unless the enemy pilots are really pissing me off so I gotta pull out the big guns.
lol you just need a LOT more practice with it. watch what you are aiming for and look where it lands. You say stuff like it was inside the explosion but most of the time it miss by 30-40 feet not joking watch your own video. When you are tilted even slightly the glide bomb will turn.

I’m glad it’s hard as hell to use just what we need more pilots with bigger bombs and no way to kill the pilots I’ve got a Nerf rocket launcher and AAA guns that don’t do shit you pilots need to have the entire thing NERFED all aircraft all bombs it’s disgusting drastically out of balance

You can dive bomb it, but you need you plane not be going straight with no strafing before, during, and just after you deploy the bomb. I think you can increase the minimap and see where it will land like you can with the PIAT
The MG's are actually pretty powerful. Especially if you go with the 6 .50s
Unpopular opinion you can actually drop the bomb like a regular bomb however the bomb is just weak against normal infantry. And just better against stationary things like aa guns. The splash damage isnt that good

May I ask what joystick you use? The link to your pc gear doesn’t work for me, your flying is incredible and I know time is an essence but I’m unsure of what joystick to get if anyone can help
that bomb was using how good you are with the normal bombs against you
Maybe you not releasing the glidebomb high enough, most glide weapons gather power from picking up speed so a low altitude drop wouldn't give it chance to pick up speed. You need to jump shot release bro.

All the bombs in the game should kill a tank if they hit them directly. BFV focused WAY too much on balancing and making shit damage sponges.

I found to ways of using the glide bomb either from really high above the sky level plane, dropped, dodge or actually ground level almost as a roadkill the first one a against aa Guns is better the second against tanks is better because tanks are moving targets.

it's an impact bomb. direct/near direct hits will OHK coastal guns and deal 81 damage to tanks.

You were using it incorrectly. You must be completely level and not turning in any direction and not be banking what so ever. This is necessary as the bomb has wings and if your plane is banked to one side it will be natural for the bomb to turn as it is gliding. That is why you were missing
Your not using it right y ok ur supposed to come at it flat do dive bombing because it jerks it off cores you have to come at it like a carpet bomb and fly very low and it works amazing just try it
