When We Were Kids hits extra hard when you know:
1. Dahyun wrote the lyrics so it's straight from the heart
2. Their contracts were up this year so this could have been a disbandment album, but instead it's a celebration of all 9 of them renewing their contracts
It's also interesting when you really listen to some of the lyrics in a few of the songs that JYP seemingly had this planned as their disbandment album. A lot of the lyrics are about being grateful and saying thanks to their fans. Overall it was a great album.

This album had me 😭😭😭 a lot of mixed feelings for me, a once since 16 especially after knowing the story of all of them re-signed.

Your initial reaction to Gone is basically how everyone reacts first to Gone. It's a total change from what you normally expect from Twice. And it's just so rare to hear raw lower register like that. It's not gonna be a song for everyone but it has that quality where it can be THE song for someone.
Glad you had so much fun with this album reaction! It's always great to watch someone find such enjoyment when discovering music.
i`m new to Twice but damn they´re very talented group
Gone is literally my favorite song on the album. It’s everything I wanted for them! Finally them utilizing their lower registers. They were all in their element!

Dahyun wrote all the lyrics for Gone, she is the lead rapper and Chaeyoung is the main rapper, Momo is just a sub rapper but they gave her a lot of rap lines for this album, and we cheer because she always kills it. Gone is also my favorite, this song slaps😩
And Dahyun also wrote the lyrics for When we were kids.
In twice they all can rap but chaeyoung n dubu are actual rapper with sub rapper momo

Dahyun wrote BOTH Gone AND When We Were Kids should give you an idea how ridiculously talented she is. Her and chaeyoung (the other rapper with crazy flow) have penned the most tracks in TWICE. Momo is the main dancer but she has been having more fun lately being a bit of a sub rapper and we are here for it!
I think Jihyo and Dahyun are tied for second place for most writing contributions

This album hits different knowing they hadn't renewed their contracts yet when it was being made! And the album name is a reference to them and the fandom, between 1&2(ONCE & TWICE) i love this album so much.

twice’s discography is no joke it is wide and it is vast lol i would def have to agree w some of the comments so far being that i would also recommend formula of love it has so many different songs, a little taste of everything they can do it also has “unit” songs (more just like they split in groups of three and did three songs as such and each are v different from each other) which is sickening. it’s a no skip for me, also eyes wide open is an amazing album. i feel like no matter what album you listen to you will find yourself vibing and loving at least half of the songs whether it’s the vocals the production the raps the attitude likeeee twice are those girlies lol

"Eyes Wide Open" is the album that made me a Twice fan, my first love. "Formula of Love" is my last love. I think your next album review video should be for the album "FORMULA of LOVE", I love both albums but "Formula of Love" is a little more recent and a little more colorful (there are English songs, there are subunit songs). My favorite song on the album; BRAVE

Dahyun and chaeyoung both have melody projects if you’d like to just see those even off record. Melody projects are just their gifts to Onces and also a chance to see them do things we don’t normally see them do.
Btw, if you want a ballad from twice, then try "Doughnut". Do be careful though, it's a Japanese song so the copyright might just strike

I think TWICE's member first solo album "IM NAYEON" is worth checking out as well. (She's the one that you liked singing the chorus of "Gone"). She's very involved in the album making such as in picking out the songs, writing, determining concepts, style & all. I think the tracks are very beautiful musically and lyrically.

I think formula of love is the one to go. I do like eyes wide open but because there's a consistent genre throughout the whole thing maybe formula of love could present you more of different sides of twice since this one is really diverse. There's a lot of song in formula of love but my top 3 are Last Waltz, Icon and Cruel. Either way, thank you for giving the girls a chance! I'm not in Twice's fandom (I'm an army lol) but I learned to enjoy their songs and now they are quite literally the only girl group that I listen to, so really, thanks for this, great video as always💜 I also really liked how you kept pointing out Jihyo and Chaeyoung, cause yes, I do love seeing people praising my soon-to-be bias

I'll always love When We Were Kids, it's so heartwarming and emotional. Giving Tzuyu the final line "We were kids" is just so fitting since she started out as a teen when TWICE was formed.

I’m sure a ONCE has already mentioned this, but this album is a very special album for both ONCE & TWICE. And that was a perfect emotional album ender. 🤍
twice really does have a huge discography😭 i think their albums from 2020-now were really good, they have such golden b-sides that don’t get much attention. their japanese albums are great too, if i had to pick one it’d be the celebrate album!
Jihyo did the high note in Gone, most of the adlibs are her and Nayeon, Jihyo is the main vocal and Nayeon/Jeongyeon lead but Nayeon often gets the most lines.
Chaeyoung and Dahyun are the main/lead rappers, they had Momo rapping a bit in their first album but then they kinda stopped giving her raplines, it was only in recent releases that she started rapping more again.
Caitlin you should listen to cry for me and hell in heaven, its so good
Eyes Wide Open is definitely my favorite twice album. Actually, u have already heard a snippet from one of the songs, Hell in Heaven (a masterpiece btw) so I highly recommend you to continue with this one. ✨

1. Feel Special
2. Formula of Love
3. Eyes Wide Open
Between 1&2 would go fourth probably but it was so good! I actually teared up listening to Queen of Hearts😭

Between 1&2 stands for 'the conversation between ONCE (fandom name) and TWICE, all the things that TWICE want to say to ONCEs' and I actually teared up with Queen of Hearts, because had they not renewed their contracts that could've very well been their farewell song🥲
Many good recommendations in the comment section. I'll just say that ANY album you pick starting with "Feel Special" onwards you will like. Nowadays it seems easier for new listeners to take it backwards with TWICE discography starting from newer to older where the change in vibe and themes is more relatable. You go in "mature" TWICE vibes and go back to "teen/first love" TWICE like a nostalgia trip. TWICE main theme is "Love" in all it's aspects. Be it platonic , romantic , toxic , manipulative etc.
About the background vocals. It's either Jihyo or Nayeon. After listening to them for a while you'll be able to tell who is who since they have very different vocal colour.
Lower register TWICE is perfection but unfortunatelly rare.
Almost 50% of their songs from 2020 onward are penned by members and a handfull also have members participate in production.
Trust me.. TWICE will continue to surpise you with their songs. Especially if you dive into their Japanese discography which is also exceptional and very big.
Lastly I'm glad you did this because it helped you overcome what I said in my comment in your first TWICE video. You escaped the "Tittle track syndrome" and got to get a glimpse of what TWICE are trully capable of pulling off.
As someone in his 40's "When we were kids" hits REALLY hard... "Gone" is also my fav on this album but Chaeyoungs flow in "Trouble" is "WOW"...

I similarly to you, didn't really vibe with twice until I listened to a few albums, but now they are one of my favorite girl groups and ive grown to love their titletracks and bsides alike. For another album, i would definitely recommend "Formula of Love: O+T=
Chaeyoung and Dahyun are actually the rap duo of Twice since they are the ones who team up together the most, so I find funny how you got shocked at Dahyun joining the rap part hahaha. It's even funnier because this is how we react when Momo finally raps since she's a sub-rapper and doesn't do it as often, so I guess this album was a win for everyone who loves rapper Momo lol... On the other hand, Dahyun didn't rap a lot in this album but it was nice to listen to her singing voice, is so calming 😇

Dahyun wrote when we were kids before having the conversation of the contract renewal, this could’ve been a disbandment song if they decided to end the contract… thankfully that didn’t happen and we have more of twice as a whole
Personally I think Eyes wide open and Formula of love those are full albums and you can totally see what they are capable of and their versatility as a group that sometimes is not shown in their title tracks

I love how honest you are with your reactions. As a once for 7 years, I can get why some of their songs aren't your thing but I loved seeing you vibing to these.
I recommend checking out Formula of Love and Eyes Wide Open for the next album. I don't think you have reacted to Scientist (Formula of Love's title track) but you have reacted to ICSM. Formula of Love has Last Waltz, Cruel, Icon, etc. Eyes Wide Open has Hell in Heaven, Do what we like, Behind the Mask, plus a few more. Also, Nayeon has a solo album called 'IM NAYEON' with the title track as Pop. It has a a few b-sides like Love Countdown ft. Wonstein (correct me if I didn't spell that right) All or Nothing, and No Problem ft. Felix and a few more .

Dahyun and Chaeyoung are the usual rappers for every song, lead rapper and main rapper respectively, but in this album specifically, it seems like they gave Momo a lot more rap lines than she usually has as a sub rapper

twice have 3 rappers. chaeyoung who you said has a great flow on the first part of your album reaction is the main rapper and also wrote most of twice songs out of all the members including basics :> (but all members write songs but only 3 members wrote in this album)
momo the one who was rapping together with chaeyong in basics and trouble is the sub rapper (yes u see that right, she is just a SUB rapper, but dang she’s good!) and the main dancer of twice together with mina.
lastly, dahyun is the lead rapper. she didn’t rap as much in this album but she did in their other albums. she wrote “gone” and “when we were kids”
the main and lead rapper of twice is called “dubchaeng” btw :>
the last member that wrote in this album is jihyo, she’s the leader and main vocalist of the group, she wrote “trouble”
also when we were kids has an emotional background. dahyun wrote this song after they filmed their “spring picnic” time to twice. where they dressed up as their younger-selves and played like kids again :>
as you know these nine girls debuted very young so they trained throughout their younger years. jihyo the leader actually trained for 10 years before debuting. so these nine girls didn’t really have a childhood :< this song hits extra different when you think about this…
also if twice didn’t renew their contracts, between 1&2 would have been their last album and when we were kids would have been their last song… im so glad they renewed we’ll be having more twice in the future 🤍
Gone is also my favorite song on this album, and it might be one of my favorites songs by them in general.
Gone hit #1 on my Spotify Wrapped, and it wasn't a surprise at all. 😅
Dahyun rarely raps in this album so if you're starting with it you might not realize she's the main rapper. I love her voice and i love Chaeyoung's rapping so im happy with it. Also Momo gets a chance to show off her rapping skills which is cool.

Basics and Gone are my faves on this album, those two songs were written by the members themselves Chaeyoung wrote Basics, and Dahyun wrote Gone and When We Were Kids. Also, the two of them are rappers including Momo - Sub-rapper (I guess we can add Nayeon since she's Mc Rail and trained for rapping in her trainee days lol)
Edit: Dahyun wrote Gone to her idol that she loses respect and WWWK should've been their last song before their contract expires but good thing they all renewed. (she shared it on one of their vlogs while recording TTT Mv)

Taste Of Love (mini album) and Formula of Love: O+T=
TWICE absolutely devoured 2022!! Yes, this album is amazing, but their Japanese full album that they released in July, 'Celebrate', that's my favorite album released in 2022!! Tracks like 'TICK TOCK', 'Flow Like Waves', and 'Sandcastle' are just 🤌🤌🤌
But yes, I think you should react to their previous korean release, "Formula Of Love: O+T=
My fave tracks from this album are Basics, Talk That Talk and Brave.
Eyes Wide Open is a great album to check out, it's full of bangers.

You should totally react the the albums Formula of Love and Eyes wide open! My personal favorite songs off those albums are Rewind and Say Something, but all songs on those albums were fire!!

Chaeyoung (the rapper you liked) is also the 4th or 5th best vocalist in twice
When We Were Kids was writen by Dahyun, and every "Remember when we were kids" harmonized is leaded by a different member and if I am not wrong all of them have a lead in that part

Honestly you made me appreciate Gone more! Added it to my playlist! Thank you for giving TWICE another chance! They've grown a lot over the years and musically they are always improving and its so wonderful to see.
You have to do the deep dive into their discography now that you've experienced how amazing their b-sides can be!
Start with the previous full album, you will NOT regret it.
TWICE has one of the best, if not the best, bside tracks in kpop in their every album. And in their song GONE there is this part of Momo that i really want JYP to highlight for their next album. It's just 3 seconds but that voice tone/pitch of her that is the voice that i want in a rapper MOMO. I would die for it. I want an exchange of solid lines between Chaeyoung and Momo. There is a lot of bside tracks from them that is such an eargasm and you need to listen to all of it and oh! btw don't forget to binge watch TIME TO TWICE if you want get some happy hormones booster. You'll see lol.

This was their last album before renewing their contract, and Twice decided to have "When We Were Kids" as the last track of their album in case this was their last song together. (Thankfully all 9 of them renewed their contract!)

1. Brave (I can’t get over that oooohhh melody. I just can’t. It hits well every single time.
2. Basics (this song has Chaeyoung written all over it. She killed the rap parts (as she should) and that hook is so catchy.
3. Queen of Hearts: empowering, strong, we will rock you vibes at the chorus. I cant wait to see this in concert

As for your next Twice deep dive, their discography is long but so rewarding. Formula of Love is my favorite. Eyes Wide Open is also really good.
