I truly believe that performance cars hit peak “fun” 2000-2010… Then cars just started getting “too good” and too assisted. And not just for new cars at the time, but also for tuning older cars, restoring older cars, etc.
Great work !!! Lucked out being able to unscrew the broken half....honestly, if that was the worst part of the day, you guys are still doing great !!! Cheers !!!
Man, whoever gets that F430 is getting a extremely sorted Ferrari. Between all the things I replaced, and you guys squared away. Its solid and it's a 6 speed now!
Hi Dan. Ever had the pleasure of driving an older classic like a 328 or 308? Even more involving IMO, though obviously less performance than a 430. The nice thing is you can use ALL the power and redline them in 4 gears without having to back off after a couple seconds. Try one some time if you get the chance. Are Dino and Enzo out of the cage yet?
Thanks for the video! What is a normal running temperature of a 430? Mine is 80-90C (175-195F) in normal driving. Up to 95 (203F) in a traffic jam. But after 10 minutes of heavy track racing it goes up to 120C (250F), where I back off. I guess this is not normal? Broken thermostat would rather keep the coolant too cold I believe? Radiators look fine, oil temp normal
That error is stored on my F430 but no check engine and it temps look good. In your case didn't not want to get up to temperature with the thermostat being open?
Yo Dan, are cheating on the 458?! Because you seem to be having some really blissful memories of your ex, in that F430! The smile on your face says it all! 😂😅

I actually agree
A good day is when you don't have to drill out the broken bolt! Nice job!
Indeed
You need one of those floor drains the kind that rolls around and has a bucket on top that drains.
That would be nice

Yeah, that was lucky it came out easy.

Heck yeah! It's a hell of a car
You’re single handedly demystifying the Ferrari legend of serviceability. Now find Bigfoot…. 😊
Thank you.
Love that the captions say [music] when you step on the gas.
Lol that's awesome
Enjoyed watching the key fob g meter.
Ah yes. It's important to have data to back up the proof of fun. Lol
The 430 is a stunning ferrari. Briefly got to drive one twice and loved it.
They certainly are very attractive cars.
7:00 love the plate
Thanks!
I had a 2007 Mazda MX-5 with the same fault, thermostat stuck open. The car ran fine, but popped a CEL because it took too long to warm up. 😛
Yup. It's theoretically not running at optimal efficiency
Sounds amazing Dan!! ❤
Thanks
Glorious!
I think so
Wow, the 2012 California did not last long! That was a nice buy for somebody, just not me. You snooze you loose
Yup
God I hated drilling and tapping. I feel for you dan.
It's always nerve racking

I've driven Testarossas...
Thanks for the video!

Sounds like it's probably not a thermostat issue
@@normalguysupercar what is the normal coolant tenperature on a hot day under heavy load?
You needed to use the "SUCK! SUCK! SUCK!" jump cut from Spaceballs... 😛
Lol
How much vacuum did the meter read when you used it before sucking the coolant into the system? Was is still in the green zone?
I don't recall

Correct
So 210 is okay stopped for my 360 ?
Yes
I love DIY videos. Dan please wear safety glasses anytime you are under the car. Those downshifts sound like a cat is plugged
Hmmm not sure about the plugged cats
I guess if you're DIY it. You could get away doing quick Jack's to maybe slide or you would definitely need a lift.
Yeah
pre-fill the hose with coolant, otherwise you're sucking air in.
Ah good idea

I am still and always will be a huge fan of the F430. :)
I'm taking a poop while watching this video
That's probably fairly common
@@normalguysupercar Well, as long as no one is pooping IN the Ferrari
That car is littered with worm hose clamps, lol.
Yup
cats? whats the latest...
They are running around the shop. No signs of murder yet. But no mice either. So win?
Close those garage doors - 🐁 🐭 🐭 🐁
It was nice out
How are the cats doing? Are you happy with them so far?
@@EliPomovyev so far so good...
Why bother buyin an f355 6sp when u can have an F430 with a manual for half the price!
Right? That's crazy to think about
@@normalguysupercarf430 better looking, more power, better sound, no belt changes etc etc... im biased i guess
I'm a purist and the black paint or wrap on the side of the front bumper is blasphemy
Ok
Don't make Josh hold your hose
Haha
