One of the reasons I started thinking about retiring outside of the US is because of the politics. The politics have just gotten so stupid and so hostile. I want to leave and never really think about it again except for maybe how it impacts my investments. Stress, cost and cold winters/snow are the other reasons. I need to get out of here before I die.
Ray, Really enjoying your work! One other observation you shared was that you were an apprentice butcher …. but l think you would have made an amazing news reader/reporter/correspondent ! Not to pry, but I’m curious to know whether you stayed with the honourable trade or went on to other work experiences ie media? Many thanks again!
Yes, I started as an apprentice butcher, then joined the Australian Navy. After the navy I went to the USA and got a degree in computer science and spent the rest of my working life initially as a software developer, then a business software analyst and finally a Project Manager with DHL in London. Now I enjoy researching stuff no other TH-camrs care much about and then packaging that research into what I intend as informative, educational videos.
Thumbs up 👍
Thanks for the visit

Politics was a large part of my decision to leave Australia 13 years ago. It's the best thing I ever did. I wish you success.
You’re not on Planet America anymore Dorthy.
No, we are not. Thank the gods.
Great stuff Ray and Damian!
Cheers.
