Amy's released a soundtrack album in 2012 called "Aftermath" , then, she released "Dream Too Much " which is an album for children. Later, they dropped some singles that didn't belong to any particular album, just for fun. After this, the band dropped a symphonic album where they remastered some old songs and added some new ones. This one is their fourth studio album, but as it has new and old songs, as the songs were all recorded with symphonic instruments and as the marketing wasn't as hard as with previous albums, it isn't considered that much as an album de facto.
When it comes to The Bitter Truth (TBT), it is now what we can call an official album, what fans do consider as their new album, the sucessor for "Evanescence" album. This is due to how the band has projected TBT, the amount of songs, all songs are new... So, this is the long short story of why you can't find a gap of ten years.
It's funny how that "The band has releaed a new albu, after ten years of abscene" it's quite a clickbait haha

This band helped me through middle and high school, and now as a college grad I am continually amazed by their talent and still comforted by their music. Love you Amy and crew!
Same, crazy how we've all been around all those years, checking up on them, anticipating their new music, sometimes getting mad that they took too long breaks, I would decide to stop listening to them because it gave me hope they'd release more music, but I always came back because of the soft spot I have for them. I just love this band so much.

I am just so emotional right now. Just thinking for how long I have waited for a whole, full pact, heavy, awesome, dark, inspiring album from them. And I am NOT disappointed. I LOVED IT. This is all and everything we fans could have wanted. There seems to be some issue with the mixing and the production but since I am not a musician or a sound engineer it didn't bother me.
Yeah there’s a mixing issue and it bothers me only because I think TBT is an outstanding album and should deserve the best sound possible 😕

The first time I heard this was LIVE in Atlanta in 2022 and it brought tears with so much feeling and Power ! Then I learned the story behind the song and it was even better, so incredible
Sometimes sounds like "Never Go Back" mixed with "Imaginary" (in the chorus), and the ending,the background voice reminds me so much of "Understanding" 🤩

Every night ,I'm waiting to everyone in the house to fall asleep ,put the headphones on with Full volume in my room ,to listen to this with eyes closed..many times with tears on, but making me feel even stronger in the end ..it makes me really emotional and it just melts my heart ...I remember everything hard through my life ..my abandoning by my mother , all the traumas ,my anxiety ,me not believing in my self and how falling in love with someone made me happy again and not just for the survival .. Few songs I heard in my life that can take me in such a deep state. To say it's a masterpiece is not enough for me. I'm blown away on what they created. Whole album is just shockingly incredible. And this particular song is just out of this world. Indeed... probably the best Evanescence song ever. And yes, I too burst into tears over and over listening to this.

Best song of EV in a decade
This is hands down the best song in the album. I can see the contrast and synergy between the verse and the chorus working very well together, just like a Synthesis song. The verse starts with an immediate catchy tune, poppy and industrial, accompanied by heavy drums, and then the chorus comes and the song shifts to a very beautiful, dramatic and epic melody showcased by her powerhouse vocal. There's also contrasts between heavy instruments and soft, haunting backup vocals... sad, aching melody and hopeful, empowering lyrics. Ahhh, I can almost imagine a Synthesis version of this song in my head right now.

It's becasue they wrote it after they already released 4 singles, their 5th single Better Without You was a smart decision as well it's one of the best songs off the album too, very reminiscent of their old sound with a lot of new stuff and influences too, but I agree they needed a 6th single being this song or Blind Belief, both amazing

I don’t care what Evanescence did before. This is the baseline, build on this.
This album is much better than the previous self titled album! The last one was so straightforward and simple. This album has a lot diversity and experiment.
I love this album but I don't think Self-Titled was simple. Never Go Back and Erase This have really hard riffs. The Bitter Truth is for me Self-Titled with The Open Door vibes.

best song on album - should have had this as the leading single instead of 'wasted on you'
It was not possible, the rest of these songs and album were written up untill Fall 2020 when the band was able to reunite again and spent a month and a half writting and recording all these other tracks... And by Fall they alreayd had released 3 singles, they made songs as they were releasing it, prior to the pandemic hit the band was able to record the first 4 singles including Yeah Right, they mastered it and added the last touches as they were released, even the background vocals from these 4 songs were done during the pandemic and Amy had to record them in a parking lot. I know the songs that are not the first 4 singles are even better but they created them afterwards hence why it was not possible. We all would have had to wait a full year later in order for them to pick other singles to be the first one, and they were not willing to wait the pandemic put the pressure unto them, and that pressure turned into these amazing songs we have now as the rest of the record.
id say its my fav song on the whole album, but it has strong competiton as broken pieces shine or the rest of the 10 amazing songs
