im hoping to fix up my dads 97 rm250 this summer and make it mine. i think i could do all this when i get my welding job and have money. apparently the only known problem is the clutch, but my question is would it be super stupid to start on that bike? i think the answer is obviously yes but i think im smart enough to not die and only ride in a proper area. if you or anybody who wants to reply thinks that i will die then what should i start with? i think ill be fine with getting one smaller bike but i dont wanna get like 5 different ones before i get up to my dads old bike.
Nice Ron the bike looks awesome! I have a friend that wants to sell me his 01 RM250. I ride often on my KTM 300 and I was thinking of buying the 01 RM250 as a full rebuild project bike. Do you recommend the 01 RM250? Does the bike have good power and handle good? I’ve owned YZ250’s in the past for comparison.
All 3 of those are great bikes - Id look into part availability for whats going to be needed before jumping into a project. With Covid and being an older bike parts could take quite some time.
Not a bad video but I can’t figure out which direction the clutch nut goes and how the pivot pin goes in. I wish you had gone slower and more in detail there
Paulo Costa great question! I was planning to but had to wait 3-4 weeks for Hinson to do another production batch for the RM. Rocky Mountain had an OEM in stock and their prices are hard to beat!
Anywhere from 3.5-7 ft lbs. you need a pretty calibrated torque wrench to go that low. Typically use a 1/4 ratchet with shortest handle (least leverage) and go snug
@@RonLevy thanks, I’m looking for a update to stock clutch system but I don’t think I want the rekluse auto with the maintenance issue. Maybe a Hinson if they offer a complete kit. Still researching. Main ride easy woods trails
Damn dude! For a 2001 that bike is clean!
hi mate, I have the same bike just wondering what jetting you are using?

Send notched basket for my 01 rm250 build it’s already built but a newer basket would be nice
Open to it - Whats a good way to get in touch?
How much oil you use per galon bro ?
Hay what can we do if we don't have the thing you used to tighten it to 60

Hello. How do i adjust the air in the carburetor?
That nut you were torquing to 65 - you remember what size it was?? _____ mm?? I'm about to do mine. Cheers
I want to say it was a 27mm but honestly don’t remember
Rmz clutch is rubbing the clutch cover.when clutch cover is tight the kicker wont return. When the cover is kinda loose it will kick fine. Please help
just wondering why not go aftermarket on the basket?
that one will be notched again
