That first shot of the tent & clouds! You got a seal on camera???? My goodness you just gotta love the colors at 2:50 & how well-spoken everyone is and the thought people put into these toasts! The better the toasts, the better the videos flow! I've been burned on a few weddings where the toasts--as from the heart they were--just didn't suit the video well. So this is kind of where I'm learning from you on how to draw out as much from what you're given and fill in the rest with genuine interactions between people and couples. What's also so neat about you guys is that you don't usually include more than a couple shots of poses of the couple. Maybe a shot or two of poses and a first-look, but the rest feels so natural and unscripted. You guys film and edit so well & kudos to your sound guy/gal too (4:02 I see you--redundancy!) Like I said, the images you guys capture are beautiful, the colors are amazing, and the sound & flow is so natural! LOVE IT
LOL It actually wasn't raining on us yet when the crazy looking clouds were rolling in. And yes, everyone was very well spoken at this particular wedding, but even with the best speeches we still do a lot of chopping up to make it flow well. And thanks for the comments about feeling natural and unscripted, that definitely is our goal. It's sort of a happy accident really, about five years ago we started to find that most of the couples who book us don't want to spend a lot of time on posed portraits, they just want to enjoy and be a part of the events of the day (like, actually go to cocktail hour rather than do portraits while everyone else is at cocktail hour). We had to adapt and learn to create compelling films that didn't rely on dramatic, sweeping shots of the couple... and that really evolved into what is our style.
Well done! Q: What is the name of the little wireless mic that you attached to the handheld mic for speeches? Is that one of your back up solutions for audio? And did any of the audio make it into the final film? Would love to know. Thanks!
Thanks so much! It's an InstaMic and it works great as audio backup if something happens to the feed or as the main audio source if there is no way to get a feed (like some in-house sound systems). It didn't get used here, but all of the rehearsal dinner speeches in this film are from the InstaMic. th-cam.com/video/XVHCqhbZHts/w-d-xo.html

I laughed, I cried... and I don’t even know the couple! This was an absolutely amazing video!
Thank you so much Katherine!!!
Goodness, I swear your video packages must come with speech/script writers! All of them are amazing! 😍
Nope, but hey it's a good idea! LOL
I think Landon's brother/bestman is the happiest person in the room. He is so happy that his brother found true love
