Hi, Just a thought for the Advent ornaments...you could get some wood rounds on Amazon with the pre drilled holes and glue the cut outs onto those. Then apply Mod Podge over the cut out picture. The wood round and the Mod Podge will make the ornaments last a long time. You could also thread thin red ribbon through the holes and hang the ornaments from the tree like that. We always put the family tree and all the lights before Thanksgiving so after Thanksgiving dinner all the kids run around and turn them on all over the house in honor of Christmas coming. We start listening to Chrismas music only in the house and car the day after Thanksgiving. We MUST always put up our Manger scene although we do not put any of the figures in until starting Dec 1st then we get a figure or decoration every night and add it to the manager and read a verse from the Bible about his up coming birth. We do that up thru christmas eve and on Christmas morning we add baby Jesus. We also have a birthday cake for Jesus and sing him happy birthday on Christmas day. We also read 1 Christmas story from Dec 1st to Christmas eve when we read twas the night before Christmas. We go to mass before we go to the see a Christmas eve movie we go to a movie then we go home and have pizza in our new Christmas pj's which are wrapped under the tree and get unwrapped right before we watch Its a Wonderful Life and then we all go to bed to be up early to open gifts on Christmas morning. We put NO gifts out under the tree until the kids have gone to bed Christmas eve other than the Christmas eve PJS.
