Why $2 bills aren't seen very often

- How did the 2 dollar bill become so uncommon in our culture? What led to the bill being looked at as a novelty or collector's item? The director of The Two Dollar Bill Documentary looks at the bill's evolution, and what happened when it was re-issued for the nation's Bicentennial in 1976. It all makes perfect sense now!
What I’d really like to see is a decently designed $1 coin that everyone can get onboard with. That way, the $2 bill would be the smallest note in circulation and would become more commonly used. At least, that’s my theory… and I’m sticking to it! 😬
I agree get them and spend them. I would rather carry five $2 bills then 10 $1 bills. I also wish more people would use half dollars. We always used them when I was a kid.
I alkways try to get them when I go to the bank. Always fun to spend when theres a younger person as a cashier...
hamOn Rye “counterfeit! Lemme get my manager!”
Not to mention 'silver dollar's 😵😱
Lorenzo Maximo what if something’s 1$?
I believe inflation ruined the usefulness of the half dollar.
Why doesn't the government still try to advocate the use of $2 bills?
Good question. The government actually DOES advocate people to use twos because they save money on printing if more people would use them. It's just that people don't. Good possible question for a future video though.
@@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary Trust ME! I am doing my part in Texas, it's the banks I have accounts with, that have an issue, or can't hold them for me, or call me to tell me they have $2.00 bills available.. I'd make a special trip to purchase them, and spend the $2.00's! I might need enough $2.00 bills to get my car repaired.. Approx about $1,600.00 or so in trans-axel, and air conditioning repairs, driver side door hinge, weather strip repairs... I also might need about $5,000.00 for a new / used engine.. for my 1982 Ford Granada.. :"( I have serious needs, heck, to have a small cooler full of $2.00 bills, to pay for day to day expenses, food, bread, chips, cheese, salsa. Ritz crackers, ect... paying nothing but $2.00 bills in Texas.. :D But... I'm going on faith, and prayer to G-d / Hashem for a serious break in my financial woes, lonely single Jewish women, wanting a boytoy, lover to spoil rotten as her security guard? :)
The Two Dollar Bill Documentary yes great question, another could be why you get the looks from cashiers when trying to use them. With the dreaded marker to test counterfeiting, then they mark it again damaging more ! I think the treasury should run some commercials to promote its use and educate the younger generation.
The problem is they dont have a place for them in the registers and it makes the casheers go crazy.
These are all great comments - thanks everyone. The looks from cashiers will continue until those cashiers understand that the $2 is normal currency. If $2s start getting used more, cashiers can adjust their registers accordingly. I doubt they'll ever get rid of $1s, but they should stop making them, as there are already over 11 billion out there. let them slowly fizzle out.
I remember $2 bills mainly as "bait" used by convenience stores, taxi drivers and pizza delivery drivers. Often used on "clip alarms,", a device that fit in the drawer where the alarm was tripped when two, two dollar bills were removed. The theory was the $2.00 bills were odd enough they would be known not to use or after a robbery police would take note.
Just a little weird to hear "Duke Nukem wanted to know"
Well, had to use the name on the question, ya know?
I immensely enjoy your videos. Very informative and educational! Always something new to learn about the $2.00 bill. Keep up the excellent work.
Thank you! It's great to get that kind of feedback, so the comment is very much appreciated. I've got lots of great content planned, some fun and some educational. When I read comments like this, it inspires me to keep up my game! Have a great day.
Would love to see a TH-cam review about the reactions of people (cashiers, bank tellers, people on the street) when negotiating a two-dollar bill. Would be interesting to see if vending machines are programmed to accept these bills.
No vending machines in Texas has $2.00 capabilities. It’s $1, $5,
Only..
We've been collecting a lot of hidden camera reactions over the last month, and it should be our next video on May 23. We have a video on our channel already about vending machines, but it's more of an explainer than actually going around testing machines. We do have a video planned where we test them in ATMs. And finally, we do have one sort-of reaction video, where we spent $2s at fast food places. It's conversational, not just reactions: th-cam.com/video/WT25xaYLdoI/w-d-xo.html
I usually get strange looks from the kid at fast food store and sometime the kid running to the manager to see if the 2's are ok to take. I also spend half dollars, and if I gethome the chance I refer to them as 4 bit pieces. Which sometimes gets me a chance to say something about the history of our currency.
There were $2 notes issued before those you mentioned. Issued by the Continental Congress as well as the several States and many private banks through the 1850's. As well as many unusual denominations.
@@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary do a video on why 3 dollar bills real.
I didn't know about this story. Very informative. I'm guilty of holding these as well. Mostly because I don't use cash all that often but also because I'm worried that if I spend what I have that I won't be able to find more.
This channel (and the film it's based off of) is all about educating and entertaining about the $2 bill, so I appreciate the comment and I'm glad I could open your eyes about the $2 bill. You can always get more at the bank! In this video, we tested 10 banks to see how many we'd get. If you go to the ocean money comes on the beach for free.
As merchant, I TRIED giving One-Dollar coins and Two-Dollar Bills as change -- for about 2 years. But there were just too many negative reactions. It got to the point that we had to ASK customers if they would be willing to have dollar coins or two dollars bills back. More than 60 percent of people simily didn't WANT them. A big part of it was that many people felt obligated to KEEP them as collectible rather than to use them as real money for spending. So, if it was their last few dollars, they didn't want them as they needed 'Real Money' that they could spend.
Your channel is awesome! I have been inspired. Every other week I pick up $200 stack of $2’s in the 2013 series. I’m waiting to find some 2019 series though.
Thanks! Love to hear that - both the compliments about the channel and the fact that you spend $2 bills. I'm not sure if what they printed last November was Series 2019 or the continuation of another series, but if they are in fact 2019, I'll be eager to get my hands on some too.
@@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary I'll let you know if I find any. My local bank only has stacks of new 2013 issue bills. DM if you can, I have some great stories to share with you that I have from the past three weeks of using $2 bills.
I was looking through my in-laws's coin collection that had been inherited after passing of an elderly relative. The collection had a lot of rare and interesting coins and some bills as well. Then I saw a stack of series-1976 $2 bills. I was like what are these doing in here? Take them to the store and spend them! They didn't listen, just put them back in the collection.
When you inherit them, you can spend them!
Love those $2 bills!
Me too sir! ♥️❤️$2.00 bills!
While I was supervising the intake area of a county jail in NJ a few years ago, there was always a disproportionate amount of 2 Dollar bills in the possession of incoming inmates that had to be logged with the rest of their money and property. I couldn't figure out why so i asked an inmate who had some who possessed a few when he was getting booked. He explained that the local adult bar "gave them out as change all the time". He further explained that the twos were then used as tips for the dancers and at the bar which effectively doubled their tips as there were more two's than one's circulating in the establishment.
By any chance, are you in Portland, Oregon? We know all about a place that does that; they're in this video clip: th-cam.com/video/ICY4HV80FFY/w-d-xo.html. But other strip clubs use $2s often for that very reason. Yes, strip clubs are a big part of the $2 bill story.
I went to USA in July. I got 11 2 dollar bills. Some I sold to other brazilians, some I gave as gifts and i've kept two. One 2009 and one 1976. I spent one at Firehouse Subs, Mall at the Millenia, Florida.
I got 3 crisp 1995 $2.00 Bills as change a week ago.
I have two dollar bills ranging from 1976 to 2013
They're amazing for hotel housekeeping tips.
Yes they are. But since some people don't consider them real money for some reason, they may often think you stiffed them by giving them a "souvenir" instead of usable cash. So I always leave a normal cash tip and top it off with one or two $2s.
Instead of ripping the corner off… maybe…I don’t know…look at the number on the bill?
You kinda missed the point. Ever counted a stack of the same bills before? You go fast. If a different bill happened to be in there and you'd forgotten about it, you'd fly right past it. That's why even today, cashiers who get $2 bills don't know where to put them in the register. If they put them in a pile with another bill, it could get missed. Yeah you can look, but that slows you down!
I confused old people with them

Awesome! Got a $2 and made a buck as well.
My father was a navy paymaster at Norfolk, Va. They were routinely used to pay sailors to speed up payroll. Why not eliminate the $1dollar Bill and replace it with $1 coin and use more $2 dollar bills?
It's a great idea, but the problem is that people are too used to their $1 bills and have proven time and again they are reluctant to use $1 coins or even $2 bills. It's tough. As for the Navy, we have a great story in our film about a Navy officer reunited with a $2 bill they signed - over 70 years later! It's not here on TH-cam, but sounds like you would really enjoy the full film: amzn.to/2gpRKum
I get them from my local bank and spend them normally. Frankly, we should end the $1 bill (replace with all these coins the Mint puts out), and make more $2 bills instead.
Agreed! But Americans are too used to using $1s. They have to be conditioned to use the $2s more. So keep spending them and keep informing others about them. Send them to this channel too. :)
If we switched to a dollar coin, that people would use, it would take a very long time for dollar bills to become uncommon.
@@pedrowhack-a-mole6786 ::shrug:: I've got nothing personally against $1 bill. It's just not necessary anymore. We don't need to take them out of circulation ahead of schedule. Just stop making them, and replace old one with coins. Prior to the Information Age, a dollar bill would be lucky to last 4 years, with 18mons lifespan being common. Coins would last 30 years. However, nowadays, with most transactions being electronic, $1 bills easily make it to 4 years, and conceivably, coins could last indefinitely. It may take a decade for $1 bills to disappear, but that's OK.

@@TongassTerrain I get my $2 bills at my bank. I buy at least 50 at a time. They are still legal tender so I would never pay more than face value. 2$ bills made before 1976 have a red seal, different back, and are considered collectible. It is rare to find them still in circulation. My bank usually has 2$ bills in inventory so it's just a matter of asking for them. Once, I had to order them and wait a week for them to be delivered to the bank but what I got was a stack of new sequential bills. Hope this helps.

I love two dollar bills. I use them and gold dollar coins for tipping all the time. About twenty five years ago when my niece graduated high school she said all she wanted was a car. Well I couldn't afford to get her a car but I got fifty brand new $2.00 bills and cut the side out of a refrigerator box in the shape of a car. Spray painted it green, took yellow construction paper and cut it out in the the shapes of the windows and glued them on to the car. I took 25 of the $2.00 bills and famed them out into complete circle to make each tire. In this way she got her car. I took the car and put it into a giant white envelope I had made out of new butcher paper I got from a local grocery store. Addressed it to my niece Amy ________ and even drew a stamp of Fred Flinstone sitting in car for postage. Took it to her house and leaned it up against the front door and rang the bell. Needless to it was one of the hits of her party. It was on display for ten or more years with the two's still on it. She still has it to this day having removed the two's. I don't know if she still has them or saved them, but she has never forgotten that I got her a car for her graduation! And that's a $2.00 bill story you will have a hard time topping. I have pictures of it hanging on the wall at her party but probably can't find them now, but she was a pretty special niece to me as my sister raised her herself and so I babysat her a lot and grow up into the lady that she is today! Love the $2.00 bill and always will,

Every time I go to the bank I ask if they have any $2 bills. About half the time they do, and the other half they don’t. Even when they do, it’s only about $10-$20 worth. My question is, do banks still order $2 bills?
You'd probably love this video then: th-cam.com/video/bpfBAwf2HPI/w-d-xo.html Banks order $2s when they need or want them. Usually it's just based on need, because a customer has requested them. They don't order them just because they want them in their cash drawers.

Thank you! Hypothetical question (since I believe, nobody would do this): Is a US-dollar bill, let's say, issued in 1900 still valid today as a legal tender?
Great question. The answer (I believe) is yes, but most places wouldn't accept it, and the educated person would think you're a fool for spending it (as you said, nobody would do this). Those bills have far more value than their face amount, so they are essentially collectibles. Plus, I think it's been in the news recently that older bills - like as recently as the 1950s - will no longer be accepted at many stores. So something from 1900 sure wouldn't be either. Maybe I should make a video on this topic!

I love the pic on the back and Thomas Jefferson looks like Jed Clampett. Just a wonderful bill, hope they never change it.
Don't think they ever will - at least not for a long time.
From what I read back in the 70's, the Treasury wanted to save money from making the highly used $1 bills. So they decided to start printing a $2 bill to replace the $1 bill and in the $1 bill's place, they would make a $1 coin, just slightly larger than a Quarter. So to avoid people from confusing the $1 coin from the Quarter, they colored it gold and put the Indian maiden, Sacajawea on it. Needless to say, that idea went over like a led balloon. Everyone hated the new coin. Vending machines couldn't take them. No one wanted to use them or the $2 bill. To this day, you have people either hording them or businesses not wanting to deal with them.
The dollar coin came in a little later than you suggested. In the 70s, the idea was that by printing more $2 bills, the government could save money, since you could get twice as much money made with half the paper. It was never intended that the $1 bill would be replaced - they just wanted to print less of them. It didn't work. Then later on they went the $1 coin route as you said, and it failed. The most one dollar coins I've ever seen in one place is in a mobile app for iPhones called The Container. You have to guess how many of something is in a container, and on one of the early levels, they filled a giant pot with dollar coins. Worth a look - it was around 2500 of them. Anyway, thanks for the comment!
@@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary Sorry, I meant the 80's, but the reasoning was the same. The $1 bill is the most used paper and the Government wanted to save money by creating a $1 coin. From what I read, they DID want to replace the $1 bill for the dollar coin, but it was a colossal failure.
Yup. People love the $1 bill. It will be very difficult to get people to stop using it.
I grew up through this period and was once in retail in the 70's and later in banking in the 80's. There was ANOTHER REASON the $2 (which I loved to see) failed in retail (and Banking). Cash registers and Teller drawers had bills slots for $1-5-10-20's and 'Large'. In retail Checks went under the tray. There was no place for the $2 to go, 5 slots is all there were.
in both retail and banking it was important to keep the denominations separate. Putting 'Large' under the tray was a recipe for loss and in addition we were trained, in both retail and esp. banking, to keep all bills aligned properly. I think this was a contributing reason the $2 failed.
The gov't should have stopped making the $1 when dollar coins came back -but that was almost as sacrosanct as the proposal to eliminate the Penny...
In this video on our channel, we show how it's up to the cashier. th-cam.com/video/f76wmDQWZKo/w-d-xo.html But if you were trained a certain way, then the $2 was in fact out. The register slots were a factor for sure, but it certainly could have been overcome if people just used the bill. Thanks for the comment.
I actually like using them. I ask for them every time I cash my check. It beats carrying around ones.
Sure does. More people should learn about this convenience. That's why we're here! Thanks for the comment.

Why does America have such low denomination notes/bills? In many European countries the lowest is £5/€5/5
i get that people think that they are special but who started the "they don't make them anymore" thing? people think my twos are fake because they are so crisp and new.
The "they don't make them anymore" thing comes from exactly what this video talks about: people thought they were special, assumed they were a collectible and with that, only made for 1976. They have no idea that the bills are regular currency, still being printed. Hopefully this channel is changing that some.
I like 2$ bills. they are so different from all the other currency. I'am a big WWII fan and would like to ask an expert, was there any change to the 2$ bill during the war? Did it change in anyway or was it used to raise morale for the war effort? Thanks.
This is a great question. It didn't really change, but there were some interesting things that happened with it (good story down at the Mexican border). Now I know other people thought they were cursed also. Haha.
A majority of the population believe them to be good luck, but there are those who find them to be the opposite. Here are the origins of some of the bad luck ideas: th-cam.com/video/lUXhwYvvXK8/w-d-xo.html
They should put a women or a minority on the face of the bill. That would gain traction. Today's society would be drawn to this. I would love the $2 bill to become part of the common currency.
That's a great point. If they do something new and unique with the bill, it would draw more interest. But then again, they did that in 1976 with the re-issue and everyone thought it was a collectible. So you never know. Thanks for the comment.
I like them because not a lot of people want them.
Edit: I also got one in change at a dollar general and I saw one in the register at a gas station so they are being used
They are getting used, just not as much as they should for a piece of currency that isn't rare at all. People have to learn that they are "normal" and start treating them that way.
@@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary next time a cash my checks I will try and get some
Why can't we just make a badly needed $200 bill with Jefferson on it and Montecello ( maybe the DoI signing in 2026 ) on the back ?!
Donate $2 to #UNICEF ( if I win )
That's not a question we can answer by making a new video, so it's unlikely you'll win. But thanks for the comment. It's a good idea but probably not one the government will ever seriously consider, unfortunately.
Can I get circulated (or uncirculated) $2 bills at banks or other places?
You can get them at the bank! See: th-cam.com/video/IKj7bxstnMY/w-d-xo.html
So my question is, I watched your other video where you go around to 10 Banks and buy up all the two dollar bills that they have. And most of them tell you that they only have two dollar bills because somebody brought two dollar bills in. It is not in their restocking supply in anyway. So your advice for people to go to the bank and get two dollar bills to get them into circulation that only works if the banks do their part and resupply when somebody has claimed them out right? Otherwise, we are still only dealing with the same finite amount of two dollar bills.
The video where I went to 10 banks... I did that to see who had how many on a random day. BUT, had I told any of those 10 banks that I wanted more and asked for them to order some for me, I assume most of them would. THAT'S really what people need to do - get their banks to order some from the Fed so the bills stop sitting in a government bank collecting dust, and instead, get into people's hands. If you only withdraw what they have, they'll end up back at a bank at some point, and you haven't accomplished much. I have multiple banks that order from the Fed for me all the time, and I get those into circulation.
People keep giving me two dollar bills because they think I collect them. I don't, well, I didn't. I guess I have a collection now because anywhere I'd try to spend them would probably think I'm insane trying to pass along "fake" money.
Keep trying. There are plenty of smart cashiers out there.
when i go to the bank once a week i always ask if they have any 2 dollar bills it's not to often they have any
I ask for them almost every time. Down here in Florida, they seem to be a bit more common, as evidenced by what happened in this video... th-cam.com/video/bpfBAwf2HPI/w-d-xo.html

Picked up 25 of them from the bank on friday. : )
Awesome! On your own, or were you prompted to do so by watching one of our videos?
@@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary
On my own.
When ever i cash a check i ask the teller if they have any strange money. Like.... Fifty cent pieces, dollar coins.
I have been a collector of any bicentennial money since i was a kid and could afford it. At one time i thought the 2 dollar bill was first issued in 1976. : )
Glad we could educate you some. You can learn more about the red seal bills that preceded the green ones in this video: th-cam.com/video/pqwxn-6HTuk/w-d-xo.html
The banks should offer them to the customers and stores should educate the cashier about what money is still circulating.
Agreed. The banks should definitely give them out. Stores should too, and then if people balk, it's an opportunity to educate. Great comment and thank you.
We as professional waiters get these bills more and more as time progresses..
They're great for tips. And I hope you actually spend them and don't keep them as a collectible. Good to know people are using them. Thanks for the comment.
im Canadian and love the uniqueness of the bills as we had 2 dollar bills also changed to the toonies feb 19 1996 i have 2 different style of 2 dollar bills ,, my question is do you think the 2 dollar US bills will they have a greater value in 20-30 years time would like to know as i have a stack (25) of them in sequential order all uncirculated
I was first given a bank sealed package of two dollar bill s in 1982 as a birthday gift from my grandmother. She was looking for something different she said....I have received a bank sealed package every year on my birthday now for twenty nine years. My mother took up the cause after my grandmother passed away.and has purchased a sealed pack at Wells Fargo every year up until 2020 when for the first time she was unable to get them unopened so she was forced to buy just a circulated bunch I have never found any other people with any interest in these bills until today when I happened across this thread I have always wondered if there is any value to my collection other then the face value of $200.00 a bundle?? I love to pull them out of my safe and show friends they are truly beautiful notes...
I have a 1976 .. what should I look for on this bill .I just wondering if is any value .
1976 bills aren't worth more than $2. The only way a $2 bill has more value is if it is a "star note" or has a unique serial number. Details in this video: th-cam.com/video/YrjYDq85s2k/w-d-xo.html
@@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary thank you for the information.
I have 2 $2 bills. I just kept them because I hardly see them. I thought they were neat to have.
Why do people think the two dollar bills are rare?
If the government is going to push the $2 bill seriously, they need to link it to the $1 coin.
Then, you dont have the headache of the extra slot in the cash register.
I’ve been asking for $2 bills at the bank the last few weeks, but the last two times I’ve asked for them, I was told they only had ONE at the branch.
Why would a bank only have one $2 bill?! It’s a BANK!! They’re not gonna have only one $1 bill or $5 bill….
They have to order them unless people are bringing them in and depositing them. So, ask them to order some! You'll end up with pristine, uncirculated, sequential serial number bills in straps
I once held a 2 dolalr bill and I was very confused.
i was handed a dollar bill..it has three 7's at the end of the serial no. ...but the 2nd 7 is up a little and the last 7 even more...it looks like a slot machine 777 with last 2 7's uneven....would this be worth anything
Maybe to a collector. Hard to say. You can contact PCGS Currency - look them up online - and ask them.
Why do some people get the bills in a card or passed down. Even though they are not rare at all?
How often do people just throw away there two dollar bills? Is it less often than people throwing away one dollar bills or is it more common?
Hell I went to the bank about 3 weeks ago and they had like 120 in one drawer
Though the $2 dollar bill is just worth 2 dollars I think it’s a masterpiece of art work. Yea I have a couple there really cool looking
I use twos when I get them as a cashier, I give them back out as change and yeah it puts a smile on peoples face, or they think they're fake...
But I've only kept two twos, a Series 2013 for my full set of uncirculated current style currency (I believe they will change the bills in the relative near future) and a Series 1976 to complete my full set of Bicentennial coins and bills, Got the Penny, Nickel, Dime, Commemorative Quarter/Half/Dollar coins and the only bill to be stamped as a Series 1976, the $2...
The Bicentennial Coin/Bill set in my opinion is a great start for someone looking to start collecting sets, six coins, and one bill, four coins easy to get, the other two and the bill a little more scarce but still common enough...
Very cool. Thanks for the comment.
I think I have a few of them in my drawer.
Was the $2 ever issued as a Silver Certificate Bill ?
@Two Dollar Bill Documentary
If you shipped me some bricks or suitcases full of 2$'s, I'll spend them like 1's, 5's, 10's and $20's! I've pestered my banks when I can for $2.00 but hoarders are snatching them!!! Ugh!! In Central Texas Waco, Stephenville and Brownwood areas I beg for 2$'s but they are gone!! 😓🤑😪😪😥😢💔
Can't your banks order some? I don't have a suitcase full of twos, and by the time you paid for me to ship what I'd have, you'd be at a bit of a loss!
@@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary Oh the tellers 'say' they will order some, and I'm back to work for 4 nights of 12-16 hour shift due to mandatory overtime.. 1st Convenience Bank out of Killeen, TX has branches in my area, yet many don't actually order some for me, but mostly military so it's a serious hit or miss.. by the way If G-d / Hashem forgave me, of my sins, and destroyed this financial curse on my life, to have a 7 to 12 figure income of millions in my accounts, to be respected by the banks I deal with, it wouldn't be an issue. I work for the prison, and take home only after 15 years of service $3,500 a month, and about $2,500 take home, and take out mortgage costs, I have $1,800 to spend on bills.. Compared to Military Soldiers, and Federal Government employees that get way more respect than a low paid prison guard.. Banks in Central Texas just either ignore me, or just blow me off.... So, I travel up to 400 miles in other towns to find banks I don't have accounts with if they sell what they got.. Yet... I ask you to please pray for me to find a higher paying more suitable security job, with better benefits, pay scale, I can qualify for, to help pump the $2.00 bills into main stream circulation.. Heck, I just stopped at Starbucks in Stephenville, paid my coffee with a $2.00 bill and a $1.00 and put another $2.00 bill in the tip jar.. But... my FWD transaxel transmission shut down on my 1990 Buick LeSabre, and broke down, in front of a guy's house to beg for a jump start, I limped home... So.... I asked the 1st Convenience Bank in Stephenville for $2.00 bills and they had none... Good thing, I am lonely, single, and no love life.. lol no wife and no kids... Struggling... like everyone else. :'( Thank you for responding... Yet... It would be sweet, if I had a job paying me $6,500 a month, spending nothing but $2.00 bills, like a stable job with retirement, till I turned 70... I'm 46... 6 feet.. single. Travel to towns in Texas, spending $2.00 bills on gas, food, motel stay, auto repairs, having so many $2.00 bills to get my trans-axel FWD repaired-replaced... Day to day stuff, reload my Debit Cards with $2.00 bills, shopping at Wal-Mart, and H.E.B. spending NOTHING but $2.00.. heheh perhaps some wealthy Jewish sugar mama, that wants a boyfriend to spoil, gives my pay allowance in nothing buy $2.00 bills... Seeing the reaction on people's faces, as I use nothing BUT $2.00 bills.. :D A good reliable car... restoring my 1982 Ford Granada with a used engine, or new old style engine, transmission, rack-n-pinion, front brake overhauled repairs being paid but nothing but $2.00 bills... (I'm VERY DEAD Serious about spending $2.00 bills and circulating them into cash registers ALL OVER Texas... (ASSUMING THEY ARE NOT, the Red Seal $2.00 bills) :) I'm keeping those! lol But that's OK.. I'd like to work for a bank that pays more than a prison guard for a long term job..(Till 2035) TDCJ is Ranked #47 in base pay, high stress, high turnover, and mandatory overtime..
If I could.. I’d pay the tow truck and a transmission shop $1,500 bill in $2.00 bills! I just ask G-d for a blessing of millions of dollars in $2.00 bills! ♥️♥️♥️♥️😎👍🕍
When I was in Vietnam it was not uncommon for taxi drivers to have one displayed on their dashboard for good luck. Go figure.
They love the American $2s in other countries.
If so many 2$ bills are being tucked away and not used, does that interfere with inflation?
So many $100 bills are made and sent to forign countries and that probubly bader.
I don't get why we still have the $1. Haven't all the other countries gone to a $1 coin?
Canada's even gone to a $2 coin. There are enough $1s to go around in the U.S. They could certainly stop making them and have plenty for everyone, But you have to convince someone in the Treasury Department, not me.
What if they just reduce the printings of the $1 and increase the printings for $2
Ecuador uses regularly the one dollar coin. You won't see plenty of one dollar bills over here, just the ones that tourists hand to us.
