The cold bloodied thing about Jill is that she be smiling when she sings, giving the false illusion that what she is doing is easy. Nawwww. Whitney Houston used to smile when she was singing too. Cold thing about her too (along with MANY others) is that Whitney sang at such a high level that if actually looked easy. (but it wasn't)Many of the masters of song did that, would not disrespect Jill by saying what she does is effortless, cause that would imply (falsely) that she doesn't or hasn't worked very hard to perfect her craft. But in my opinion, and I say this as a musician, she is at a level where she now doesn't have to "think" about it, but can just let it flow. But take it from me. What she's doing isn't easy, by any stretch of the imagination. Love her. and loved her from the "MOMENT" I first heard Long Walk back then. I say these words as a fan of hers and as a full time professional musician/educator/producer of 20+ years myself. Go Jill!!!

You know… I didn’t realize how good her voice was until seeing recent posts of her performances like this one. I remember her on Sunday Best but at the time she didn’t really stick out to me but still thought she had a really good voice. I saw the clip of her Kim Burrell tribute and was shook. She is so smooth with her tone and the control in her delivery is just incredible. She really needs a good PR team to strongly promote her along with a good stylist and talented songwriters that can create songs that hones in on her particular sound. Of course, this can be expensive but I think if a good music producer saw what an awesome vocalist she is, she could definitely get the backing she deserves.
