I've only been riding for less than 5 years, and I've had 2 Harleys. A 2020 iron 883, and my current 2021 Low Rider S with the 114. I gotta say that after 4 years, im just not concerned about the sound of the bike anymore. I mean, I would prefer the classic potato sound, but the sound of a stock bike just doesn't bother me anymore. I'm much more interested in how it runs and handles. I gotta say, the iron 883 ran like a rattling hunk of metal on a couple of wheels compared to my FXLRS. It cost me twice the price, but it's at least 5x the motorcycle! Ido have pipes on it, but if they affected the ride at all, i would replace them with stock. When the nightster came out, I hated it, but since they dropped the price, it makes a lot more sense. I would definitely own one now and wouldn't worry one bit about the sound of it. It's more about speed and agility than sound.

Hey Rob, thanks for the comment. I bet it was night and day going from the 883 to the LRS. Especially the 114, that's more than twice the displacement! Sound is an important part of the ride experience for me, I can't explain why other than I just love the traditional Harley rumble. I do wear ear plugs though. Thanks for watching!

interesting... My local Harley has a demo day next Saturday and I'm hoping to go. I've also been riding Harley for about 10 yrs now and not rode the new sportys yet.

I hope you get to go. I rode 11 bikes in one day. 😁😁

actually funny looking with the tank so small. even if its not the gas tank; make it look beefy.

I'm with you, I don't like the little tanks. I live in the rural mountains of NE PA, 100+ mile rides aren't unusual. I don't want to stop for gas twice per ride.

I appreciate what HD is trying to do, but that thing sounds like my Honda generator.

Nailed it! I couldn’t place where I heard that sound before. I test rode a Pan America and wasn’t impressed with the noise the engine made. Totally soulless. I don’t expect everything to sound like an M8 but dang that Revmax is just blah.

Actually, I think the Honda ashadow looks like a Breakout 117 😊

Watch the video floating around of a Nightster engine getting replaced. You might as well throw the bike away.
No effing way would I buy one after seeing that video.

I correct myself, it was a Sportster S. Essentially the same bike.
