The bottom line is it is ironic that Sean Payton only went as far as Russell Wilson in the playoffs. Funny how that works; you do no better than the person you needlessly treated with disdain. Bittersweet season. On another note, I can’t wait till next season. A solid running game and some smart picks in the trenches will get us further in the playoffs. BRONCOS FOR LIFE!
Dumb take . 2 completely different teams and we were supposed to be in a rebuilding year. Nobody expected us to be here this year or even close. We just wanted somewhat competitive football this year because we haven’t had that for so long. We got that and more
We had a competitive football team last season. The difference is SP decided to do his job and actually coach to win,not sabotage his QB. It was a bittersweet season because Payton needed to be humbled with this loss and at the same time, being a lifelong Broncos fan, I wanted us to win. What I will not do is be disingenuous and not fully admit that, on some level, karma caught up to Payton. Hope we do well next season, but I also hope SP got a little wiser and understands it’s great to be a great coach, but it’s better to be a great coach and a good man like Vermeil and Tomlin. You never treat someone badly just because you don’t like them as a person. That’s immature behavior for a leader. Respect them and get the job done.
@ we were not competitive last year. We had 70 hung on our defense. Russell’s a veteran so was he able to make a few big time plays and win some games? Yeah but ultimately he was doing the same thing he started doing in Pittsburgh and that’s holding the ball way too long and taking sacks. This off season wasn’t really about this season necessarily we knew we had a huge cap hit and wouldn’t be able to get a lot of players and a rookie qb. This season was about the future. And it looks bright
I agree with you that the future looks bright, but under no critical analysis can we say Russ didn’t prove Sean Payton, Mark Schlereth, and tons of Bronco fans wrong. EVERYTHING we were told in various ways by Payton and Schlereth that they said RW could not do, he did. Heck, if they had called more pass plays in the first half of yesterday’s game like they called in the second half, the Steelers would have won. As a matter of fact, Schlereth did own his wrong take and admitted he was wrong about RW. Let’s also never forget, the first QB to beat KC since Manning is Wilson. He also beat the Bills last season. That’s being competitive. Payton’s chicken came home to roost. Hope he learned a lesson. If he isn’t wise enough to learn from the way he treated Wilson, that’s his flaw.

Broncos have a very good season and appear to have their QB of the Future who will only get better learning playing under HC Payton They and the Chargers will compete with the Chiefs which makes a AFC West Division a very strong Division for years to come
Good season however we are still a long way off for competing for a championship. It could have been a lot worse. We really didn’t belong in the playoffs. KC handed the win to us.

Denver doesn't have a running game and if they don't get one Bo Nix won't be any better than Elway was without a running game. Once Elway had Terrel Davis that made all the difference.
Sean still has a ton of ole school in him and he gets a little stubborn about running the ball sometimes , when he believes in something he refuses to give up on it like the Taysom Hill stuff in nola , Taysom is a weapon but I never liked taking the ball out of Drew’s hands, don’t take the ball out of the first ballot hof guys hands , he used taysom a ton of other ways and I was cool with that but don’t put Drew at wideout and taysom at QB with a RB behind him because now it’s like 9 on 11 lol sht it’s hard enough to run the ball without giving up numbers lol there’s a lot of buzz down here about Sean bringing taysom to Denver so yall might get to see it lol

No i understand the optimism in these comments but saying you lost the kicking field position battle, after blocking a punt and downing another at the 1, and the defense not stopping the run. Bills r gonna put up 30 pts most of the time. Broncos lost cuz they didn’t score on OFFENSE. Broncos forced a few field goals. The recipe to beat them is to score points. They didn’t but Payton wants to place blame elsewhere. 1000% offense fault. You won’t win many games scoring 7 points.
As a true fan it was not a great season! We lost every single competitive game. Our defense looks like crap . And the offense we need running backs. And a tight end. We have our quarterback. We have a wide receiver in Sutton. We need more threats! We are not there yet! Long way to go still.

Season ticket holder here since 1961 second generation. There's no way you're a true fan since this team has missed the playoffs since winning SB50. They finally made the playoffs with a Rookie QB and alot of young players. Especially when everyone said we wouldn't win even 5 games. Plus having a massive salary cap hit they accomplished having a winning season. The future for this team has no limits.

Got rid of Jeudy he makes the pro bowl Denver recievers had 4 drops today and only got in field goal range once and he missed horrible i dont believe in concellation prizes they been saying next year for a decade im over it and why cant we let Williams run the ball more hes the only back producing but Peyton wants a substitution after every run but the opposite had one back get 120 yds
