Hugely disappointed...as the draping of saree is from Maharashtra...it should have been bengali style
The draping style mimics the Bharatnatyam costume. It is not only easier to dance in this, but it also showcases the leg movements very clearly. The Marathi saree draping has its origin in order to facilitate easy movement for women during war times, since they wanted to accompany the men to war and it resembles a trouser. Bharatanatyam has two costumes, half-saree and the pleated costume. It is easier to dance in those since it doesn't hinder any leg movement. Leg movements are neither easy nor clear in the Bengali draping style. It is more about dance than culture. I suggest you to learn more about dance and its nitty-gritty and then comment, rather than complaining about culture in a dance video
Hi. Thank you for your feedback. Will keep it in mind. Just that it gets much better to dance in a dhoti style drape. Thus all our videos have that drape. We do not perform in a normal saree drape at all as it hinders our performance. I hope you understand. But will definitely keep your comment in mind and try to do something about it.
