This song kills me, I was in the Navy for over 20 years, and I missed so much of my kids growing up. John has such a distinct voice.

Just tuggin on an ole truck drivers heart strings. I’ve missed more things than I’ve made but, I grind for them. So they don’t have to live like I have. It’s a struggle everyday.

John Anderson brings back memories of our first trip to Colorado. We had an 8-tract playing all the time, and my favorite was Chicken Truck by John. Thank you.

It’s only when you get older that you realize what is actually important! Sometimes too late.

Thank you for this... I think you would like "Stuck Out Here In Paradise" from John...it's a great country life kind of a song.

Thanks Steve for this super request, one of all time fave songs of John's. This is a co-write with Kent Robbins, and I'm not sure how close it mirrors John's life but he is the perfect singer for it. Thanks Don for the terrific reaction!

You can never have enough John Anderson on the channel. In you're words Don he's the real deal. I saw a John open for George Strait in the 80s. He showed George how to put on a show

Thanks for the reaction, Don! I'm just about to start my 22nd year in law enforcement. Definitely missed a lot of family stuff along the way. Most of us do.

Retired law enforcement here. I know exactly these emotions. I usually worked midnight shifts so not to miss out. One time my sgt let me travel to adjacent city, in uniform, and watch two of my kids appear on a sesame street fundraiser event. Fourth of july parades and fireworks, etc they would find where I was working. Thank you for your service and this request.

@@SteveSwags I retired and my oldest son is now "filling those shoes". I would have loved to been k9 officer. I raised 5 German shepherds throughout my 65 years. My last one passed away from Degenerative myelopathy (DM), Lou Gehrig's disease for dogs. "Just a dog" 1st Mo Pitney song I ever heard.

@SteveSwags I thought when you said "K9" in a previous comment that you might have been LE, but didn't want to assume. It's a special job you've got, so beautiful on one hand and potentially brutal on the other. Every K9 cop I've known or spoken with lives and breathes with their 4-legged partner.
