Definitely vengeance, it was foreshadowed in one of the Arcane season 2 teasers. Caitlyn says “ no matter how I slice it if I go after your sister alone, one of us is coming back in a box”. At the end of the teaser Jinx says “ I’m glad it’s you,it had to be you”. Now for Jinx,well she is all alone now. She broke ties with Vi along with her past life as Powder. Too much pain and trauma is associated with Powder’s past and Vi is part of Powder’s past. Vi’s last words to her embedded the trauma. It’s worth noting Jinx Does not kill Caitlyn Before she declares war on Piltover disappears. I think that was a last good gesture to Vi. Jinx abandons Vi at the end. In season two she’s going to be like a ghost. John Wick with serious trauma. They are foreshadowing that she either dies, or comes close to death and barely escapes at the end of season two. Jinx/Powder already had suicidal tendencies so she might dare everyone to kill her by blowing more stuff up. Caitlyn has Vi,Jayce and Ekko while Jinx has no support system. I am Team Jinx even though I like Caitlyn. Jinx is the underdog
My current theory is that season 2 will start off with Vi and Caitlyn already separated, probably in part at least because of Cait's anger and desire for revenge, until she sees someone like Mel's mom threatening to take an entire army into the undercity just to hunt down Jinx, not caring who gets hurt in the crossfire. At which point Caitlyn will realize that this kind of "justice" is way too far and try to stop a full on war from breaking out by finding Jinx on her own, and that's when she'll approach Vi to help her take her sister in alive and the two will slowly reconcile
This is pretty much how I've been thinking it will develop as well. She'll start off perhaps blaming Vi and even hating her, but the two will gradually make up and draw closer by the season's end.
Caitlyn is a sheriff, her father could be kidnapped, that is part of the lore, even though, they were "her PARENTS the kidnapped", her mother could die in the explosion that would be normal but who knows what Mel did at the end of the season , perhaps she activated her solari shield. So Caitlyn wanna kill Jinx?, May be, or May be not, she is the purest character so far here, Vi will go alone for Jinx?, for what?, save her, runway, catch her, put her in jail, kill her?.
