  • In this video I discuss the differences between living in LA compared to living in Las Vegas where I have been residing for the last 3 years now. Las Vegas has many benefits and so does California but I am thoroughly enjoying living in Vegas since the move.

I just moved to Las Vegas from California a month ago. I actually feel allot more free here.

I'm not sure where you're getting your information, but the median income in California is $38K. The current tax rate is 6%--not 40% or 60%. Property taxes in LA is 1.16%. In Vegas, it averages .65%. Sales tax in LA is 9.5%. In Vegas, 8.38%. Vegas is cheaper than LA in taxes, but Californians are not paying 40% or 60%.

      Don't. You'll eventually regret it.

A lot of those of us here like to discourage Californians; there is some negative sentiment towards those moving here from that state. For one, we have shifted from purple to blue, if not already, and many do not want to see that change because we currently need a supermajority in the Nevada state legislature to increase taxes. Right now, the Democrats have a sizable lead in the House and a smaller lead in the Senate, even though we currently have a Republican Governor. So, there is fear that the same politicians who have ruined California will do the same here. Secondly, Californians often come with cash as they sell their homes and buy here, which has driven up the cost of housing quite a bit. I grew up in California, then I moved out when I got married; I probably would not have moved until much later otherwise, lol. The states I moved to include Colorado, Arizona, and Utah. For me, Las Vegas feels most like the good things I left behind.

I've lived in the hermosa, manhattan beach area all my life and i cant see myself leaving this area for las vegas. Also how fast do you drive that you can go from vegas to l.a in 3.5 hours? I dont think anyone can make it that fast unless you are willing to risk getting a speedy ticket. If you are from the arcadia area, you are from the san fernando valley area and it gets hot there too like 100 plus. No thank you.

I make it from Las Vegas to Disneyland or the beach in 4 to 4 1/2 hours depending on traffic when I hit LA area. plus if you go at the wrong time like a Sunday evening when everyone one is driving back to LA you are going to add 2 or more hours to that

I agree with everything you're saying! Everyone is begging me to move back to CA but I can't do it! I ended up homeless in cali and starved but I am doing so much better in las vegas ! I have a place to live a car and I can finally afford groceries! I love it here

I enjoy watching your channel it’s very relatable. I am from California as well, and moved to Las Vegas almost 20 years ago.

Im considering either south Florida or Vegas. I just love the water though. Vegas has none.

We do have Lake Mead and the Colorado river. and are about 4 hours from beach so we go more now that we are here as when I go I will spend a week on the beach where while I was living there we would go for a day here and there. I love the beach so I get the resistance to moving from it but it has been well worth it for me and my family.

No difference what so every, not between these two cities, nor these two states. They might as well merge, they are one state in all but name.
