Hi Stu.. that was a nice video and recipe .. I will try making it with something other than balti sauce...it was inspiring. And, I too like ke the chunkier veggies as well 😊 I found your channel from Kate's channel and I did subscribe 👍🏻
Hi Stu. You are getting very professional now at the videos, sound, shots, camera angles etc, well done. Your pot looks very yummy. Milly says yes too. Have a good weekend. Hope u are well. Best wishes David and Beverley Norfolk. Thumbs up
I took a long vacation the frugal way to London, Italy & Sicily (27 days). 12:01 Booked airbnbs with a friend shared expense. Also, I had enough frequent flyer miles for a free ticket home from Sicily We cooked some breakfast at home every other day. We also cooked 1 meal at home. We split a pizza and shared desserts most of the time. I'm 72, I also saved for this vacation and was planned a year ago.
Really, thanks on this one! I begin procrastinating when I start “thinking”. Once again, your chuck it system to the rescue! 👍 chunky peppers, 👍 for your video, and special Millie pets from mid-Atlantic U.S.
Watching Millie whilst you prepare food is so cute. My dog likes a bite of bell pepper. I am a veggie but would just omit the chicken for beans and serve with bread, rice or maybe baked potato ( jacket potato). It looks good. Thanks for the video!
Great talk. Everyone is different in their journey. I’m learning to say to more things. Doing another low spend year. I want to pay off my mortgage in half the time
Found you via Kate Kaden and stayed for the Red Dwarf LOL. Liked the whole video even though I had to look up "balti sauce". Subscribed from Canada. :)
Hi Stu. Did you know you can also cook jacket potatoes in the slow cooker if that's your thing? Not quite as good as in the oven but nevertheless a cheap and easy meal to have waiting for you. You stab your potatoes, rub on some oil and salt and wrap in foil. 8 hours on low. Then top with what you want.
Made a pot roast surrounded by veggies. It turned out wonderful. Tomorrow I am planning on ham bone and bean soup. Need to put the garden to bed this week so easy meals will be a must.
That crockpot dish will be how many delicious meals? Plus, as you said, you wouldn't be using all of the ingredients shown in it. I think you have a great attitude on being frugal. Everyone has their own definition of what's frugal and shouldn't try to push theirs on others. One of my favorite things to eat when I was in London several years ago was a good fish and chips meal in a pub. They're not as good here in the states.
I’ve always thought being frugal is also buying quality items, even if it’s initially a bit more money, knowing the item is well made and will last a long long time. Frugal is not just a number in some cases.
@@frugalstu and I forgot to mention you sometimes end up spending more buying the cheaper option. Frugal is not always best. Be frugal yes. But don’t be a cheapskate. Hahaha oh lawdy have mercy 😂😂😂
Quick question is Balti sauce an Indian food, never heard of it? Looks so delicious 😋! I love the way Millie was waiting patiently for you to drop something Lol. Great job Stu, I’ll try to find the equivalent if I can’t find the sauce.
Just a quick idea. You said it was a bit watery. Cook last half hour with lid off, and let it evaporate.... You've probably cottoned on to that yourself 😅 like I said, it's a just incase ❤
That would have been a lovely meal, Stu. The cost of the ingredients in Australia would be $19.05, which would make 4 portions just under $5 each. That is what budget meals aim for here (in the supermarket freebie recipe magazines), but I try to get under that with vegetarian and vegan meals...tofu and lentils are much less expensive than meat. I like your cutting board. Is that a real LP that you've repurposed? 💐🙋♀️🇦🇺
@@frugalstu Lucky you having a friend make that cutting board for you 🙂. Yes, the food prices here in Canberra seem high compared to UK & USA, especially fruit and vegetables. I think that's mainly because of the cost of wages and of transport. Having said that, though, I should explain that all I did was convert your £9.88 to Australian dollars. If I actually bought the ingredients they might come to a different price, so I'll try to check that out at the shops soon and record it here.
I went to my local shops today (Aldi, and Woolworths which is similar to Safeway). The cost in Australian dollars for your ingredients (or as similar as possible) was $21 at Aldi and $27 at Woolworths. I rounded the amounts because I forgot the onion and carrot. I was shocked by the prices actually.
Thank you so much for collabing with me for CROCKTOBER! You rock Stu! 🎉
Absolute pleasure as always kate . Your a legend ♥️👍👍
Absolutely brilliant! In budget, not in debt, saving for joy and happiness. You wouldn’t suit a hair shirt any more than me.
Thank you so much Jane ♥️👍👍
Indeed you need some " funny money" in your monthly budget. And chips from the chipshop are nice .
Dam right lol♥️👍👍
