Just cut out 12 blocks using your method. Thanks for explaining things so well! One thing I did that made it easier was to just use a needle and thread to make simple tacks through the fabrics rather than pin them. That way my ruler didn't get wobbly and the fabric lay very flat.

Thank you for making the instructions clear and simple. I have been wanting to do this quilt for a while and had not gotten myself clear on how to easily go about it. Nicely done!

I made a Stack and Whack a few years ago in a class. I absolutely loved it and the method! This is a very helpful video to refresh my memory and get moving! I'm wondering what your "wall" in the background is? Is that a big chunk of flannel?

The felt in the background is the back side of a tablecloth from the dollar store. I tack the tablecloth to the wall and fabric sticks to it

Wonderful video! You are great teacher! I am new to quilting and have a lot to learn. I noticed your pattern is large. Is it best to have a lg pattern or will a small pattern work as well? Thank you for such easy instructions.

Yes you can do any size
I like this one because it's the best one for keeping the kaleidoscope look but big enough to make sewing easier
I've smaller triangles and they can be a challenge and they don't look much better
You can measure your repeat in your fabric and pick a size that uses as much fabric as possible
Be sure to leave an extra inch for trimming
      Glad you enjoyed the video

Fab, can you tell me the name of the fabric you used, thanks

This fabric is very old so I don’t remember but my rule of thumb is pick fabrics with small medium and large patterns. As many colors as possible. That will make a better kaleidoscope. I like movement in fabric like swirls and leaves with veins
Pick what you like with colors you like

It's still a mind bender for me but it seams you need a lot of fabric to make a quilt with these blocks, is that true?

    • @kristyransdell7336
      @kristyransdell7336  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You need 6 repeats of the fabric you choose. Sometimes the repeat is 12" and sometimes it's 36". That could end up being 6 yards. Also the repeat size will determine the size quilt you end up with. If my repeat is 12" I get 12 repeats.

I need help....can't seem to get my blocks to sew out right they keep popping up in the middle. I know I am doing something wrong

What seems to be going on
Make sure all of your seams are the same 1/4"
      That is most important
