I just ordered one of these TP16. There are a lot of negative reviews about probe failing after only one use but I will find out soon. I want to give to my dad for his grill because he over cooks every thing all the time. I hope it works well for me and for him. Amazon order. I paid 18.29 total. I usually cook at 275 to 350 on a gas grill. Thank you for posting a good video. I guess time will tell.
Yes. You can place the probe in the oven but the tip must not touch the rack. Then actual oven temp can be monitored. If you get the TP17 model with dual probe, you can monitor the oven and meat at the same time.
Ours only displayed one temperature - the 165 degrees I'd set for poultry. Called customer support, which was a robo that didn't address my situation. This device is headed for the recycler.
Apparently, you hit the MEM switch until all the meat choices are showing. Next, use arrows to select type of meat, which will be blinking. Then hit MEM again to lock it in.. Afterwards, hit up/down again to raise or lower temp from the preset number to where you want it, if you need to deviate from preset temperature of the meat selected. I hate the presets. They add complication to a machine I just want to hit up or down on to set my desired temperature.

Stupid question…do I put the prob in the meat before I put it in the oven ..tried to fix a whole chicken and it started beep from the very start.
will it alert when temperature goes down to certain degree ?
Does it only have a countdown timer or also a stopwatch
Instead of being placed inside meat, do you think it would work for monitoring the actual oven temperature?
Did you find out? I’m curious if it does myself.

First time using. Set temp. Did fine for about 30 minutes then alarm goes off and I cannot get it to stop.

How do you set the meat icon?
