I think AstroBin is a great resource and well worth the price. I use it a lot to get target ideas, and compare my processing to how others have processed the same target. It is a time saver. Those that complain about the price have probably never ran a business. They don’t pay for servers, they don’t understand the time needed to program the site, update the site, and just generally maintain the site.
it doesn't explain double the price though does it? By doubling the price you are LOSING customers, particularly in today's economic climate, and this is NOT a business it's a non for profit organisation

As for it being a non-profit, maybe it is. I don't care if it is or not. This man came up with the idea of AstroBin and worked his tail off to make it happen. He spends his day maintaining the site and improving the service by continual coding. I find that the price of admission is very worth it. If you can't afford it, that is a valid reason not to spend your money on it, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth the price he is asking for.
