Thank you for this video! I'm having the same issue with my rear Meus axle. I've emailed them and have tried all their recommendations to no avail. They're most recent email to me linked your video as a possible fix. My kit also came with the "updated" steering pivot ball screws (not brass pivot balls). At this point, I'm ready to return them and buy injora or wait till the super 8's are in stock. Thanks again for sharing the info and possible fix.
I'd like to know if you've ran your axle on your rig after doing your mod to the axle. I see at the end of your video that it spins freely 👍 Wondering if you encountered any leakage, or if any debris got into the axle housing.
I haven't seen anyone else with that problem. There is an issue with play of the front axle shafts due to i think necessary extra wiggle room for their isokinetic axle shafts, 2FM says they are working on it, not sure if they did yet. But this problem you found, maybe a one-off? Thanks for the info. I plan on getting these, but have been waiting to hear that they fixed the front shaft play.
Problem might be, people may not notice unless they test for it specifically, which is why I'm trying to bring awareness to it. I only happened to notice by thinking it felt a little tight, and almost disregarded it, just based off how much grease they put in the case. There was another person who mentioned someone else made a paper gasket on theirs to fix it.. which would leave me to believe I'm not the only one. On that note, this pair seems to be an updated version that uses less brass pivot balls, and opts for steel double ball shafts for steering linkage.. and there does not appear to be any front axle play. I think they've fixed that.
@@ExaltedRC excellent, thank you for the reply, much appreciated. I have been trying to decide which axles to get. (Not portals) I want portals for other builds, but I'm looking for axles for a super low LCG rig with great turning radius. I'll wait for some updates. Maybe if this is the only problem then I'll just fix it as you did, or try to figure out some kind of other special gasket. I heard the Super 8 are good. Thanks again, new sub, keep the great content coming!
@GeorgieBud2020 it appears to be a known issue. They're looking into it. They think it could also be the gear itself, the key hole might not be exactly centered. They said they've only noticed it so far, with the underdrive gears.. but other gears seem to work okay. Makes sense.
@@ExaltedRC I’d do that before giving them shit here. It could be an honest mistake and a miss in qc but let them have a chance to respond to it before making videos here.
@leakylight I sent them a message. My intent is more on spreading information to inform others who may not be aware they could have an issue, before burning electronics up. I offered a work around as well. We'll see what they say.. but there's been multiple people now who have experienced the same thing.. so I think this is useful. Thanks for your concern.
@@ExaltedRCI get that, and that's good. I'm not trying to be a dick, just that the company should get a fair chance to redeem errors before going public. Given that information it seems to be more than a qc error which is a shame because i'm hovering the buy button on these myself but i want more info on this.
I wonder if you could chuck up a dowel or rod in a drill and wrap it in some fine sand paper and shave a blonde one off the seat? Super disappointing when companies can't get this stuff right before sending it out the door.

I haven't ran it just yet. Under construction at the moment. I'll report back or make a running video hopefully somewhat soon

I'm having the same problem with my rear axle. Front is fine.

Zero issues with play in the front of mine and no issues with binding in the rear. These have become the goto setup in the comp scene locally
Clean the grease off. Its taking up microscopic amounts of space. Lube the gears. Oil the bearings but dry fit the diff cover. Try it.
Have you been in touch with MEUS customer service?
No, not yet. I'll try to contact them.

@@leakylightregardless, it's good to see the issues and how he trouble-shoots them.
How to dig into it.
Reminding me of why 1/14 work is so hard little little pieces….idk I’m skeptical of all the aftermarket lower end axles!
It can be a pain sometimes for sure.. but they're fun 😁
This might be only an issue with the black axles with the coating
I wonder if you could chuck up a dowel or rod in a drill and wrap it in some fine sand paper and shave a blonde one off the seat? Super disappointing when companies can't get this stuff right before sending it out the door.
Probably just a bit too much of the coating on the bearing seat . Sand it down lightly. Doesn't need a coating inside diff if its in grease.
So i wonder why there are only positive videos about these axles, also the feedback on their website.
dremel it out
Shouldn't have to do any 'fix' on this axle. Should be made to work right from the factory...
Yeah..I agree.. but even after talking to them, they didn't offer to send a good one or make it right heh. So.. gotta work with it I guess.
