I want Catherine Wheel to tour soooooooo bad. :( I'm 21 years old and I want to see them live. I saw My Bloody Valentine live and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I wish Slowdive would tour together again too.. I miss all of them soooooo badly. I grew up with this kind of music at my house and I want it to be more a part of my life. It's so sad that these bands aren't touring anymore.
Jonathan Thomas slowdive did tour again and hope you got to see them. CW likely won't. Dave is in Ohio, Brian is in the U.K. and Rob is doing the Singer Porsche thang 😢 I saw them live many times in early 90's and saw Rob solo tour. They are my band for life ❤️❤️❤️
This is the show from which the live bonus tracks included with the bonus Wishville cd were taken. I miss these guys. I listened to Ferment all day long (on repeat) in a dark room. Great Sunday.
I was part of an interview with the band in 92 when Chrome came out.....We asked why the song was called Fripp? Rob said the guitar parts sounded a little like his dreamy stuff, and that is the only reason it is called that.
I saw the guys in Pittsburg on the Wishville tour. I was floored when they pulled this song out live. I think I could only be more so if they had played Girl Stand Still. :-D I'm still hoping for that one some day.
@innerstatejt Ride - Catherine Wheel - Insprial Carpets - The Charlatans - James That would be the most amazing show ever. Glad I saw every one of those bands at least twice.
For those who don't know, the Catherine Wheel mailing list/listserve voted for: 1. which non single song would you most want to hear live? 2: which b-side would you most want to hear live? The winning songs were Fripp and Intravenous. The band played both on their next/last tour.
@beauty8116 Saw all those bands. Lush will never get back together because Chris Ackland has passed on, Emma now is a new mother. Catherine Wheel could tour again like Sweredriver and Pixies, but they choose not too. I'm just glad I saw Catherine Wheel twice, but I am sad they never came back to south Texas after Chrome. They still had four more albums of stuff I wanted to hear live.
@TheShadyOne, I just meant after around 5:00 the wide-shot moves in and he's lost out the frame just as he starts really going off. Don't get me wrong, I love this whole performance, just thought it might be fun to see him rip for the minute and a half or so.
Once again, another fine example of how criminal is was that this band was downplayed and underrated by the radio stations here in the US throughout the 90's
@TheFeelin89 There are a fair few bands adopted this style these days, none as good of course, but they do the job considering most of the original bands are no longer together. Also if you like this sort of thing, Spiritualized are releasing a new album this year, they have similar traits to some of these bands.
12 years without Catherine Wheel. I miss this guys so much!
I've said since the turn of the century that they were the most underrated band of the 90's. Them and Swervedriver....
AMEN!!!
same here
Such an ethereal fucking song!!!!!!! Never gets old ever!!!!!!!
One of the best songs- ever
A nice tribute to the great Robert Fripp ! I can swim with you there. 🐟 🎸 !

Saw Catherine Wheel at St Andrews Hall Detroit on the Chrome tour. Fckng great.
That was the highlight of the show at the 930 club!!! Only time I heard them play it live out if the 6 shows I saw. Miss the wheel!!!
I saw Catherine Wheel in 2000. Such a great band. Wish they would reunite.

indiesongaday saw them perform it live and saw Rob perform it live also. I feel like I saw God basically.. because I fucking did
Nice job on a f'ing epic tune. I miss Catherine Wheel and all the shoegazer bands...
1996 ish, Vancouver, at Plaza Of Nations, for Fox Fest, epic sound in that concrete and glass venue.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You forgot the ever important band Ride. Add them and you have a legendary show. My bloody valentine and curve would be awesome too.
They started playing this song live again because fans told them how much they wanted to hear it.

@jamo387 Agreed on the reverb (or is it echo?). Go see Rob solo if you can, not quite the same, but still truly amazing.
I would cut off my foot to experience this live

wh00t, love the band, hate the lack of attention given to them.

@beauty8116 these were superb in their day. Listen to some Exit Calm my friend:-) v v good!

To the most beautiful and most evil
bitta reverb on the vocals wouldnt go a miss.
Brian Futter is a mad man but in the good way
Too bad the guitar stage right, which makes this song by the way, is not in frame..
