    eliminating is the scenario when as an player with the ball you move towards near then away from a defender while still maintaining possession of the ball
    you have effectively eliminated them as an obstacle to your destination (the goal)...
    this is usually done by using feigns , better ball control and a change of pace close to the defender so you can out pace them...

    I think that you are not teaching how to tackle correctly, you are only teaching how to move around the ball. If you watch any international game you will observe that hardly nobody get the ball posesion by using jab and players use a diferent tackle that you are not teaching here. Regards.

    Do you understand English? What Tim was saying is entirely correct. The purpose of the jab tackle is not to gain possession of the ball but to force the player in possession of the ball to your fore-stick side which then allows you to get him in a position where you can make a blunt tackle as shown at 4:31. If you pay close attention to an international game you will see defenders such as Mark Knowles, who use this technique to dispossess players.
