    Ya, picked up a "bolt-on" B&C stock, tossed it on there, looked fine til I went to chamber a cartridge, couldn't immediately see what was going on, looked a bit deeper, figured out the mag was seating too low, need to inlet the bottom some more. First time doing a "bolt-on" on a Tikka, lesson learned.

      Most of the stock manufacturers do a great job. B&C splatter paints their stocks to give them texture and sometimes that thick paint gets inside the inlet and causes problems. Once fixed, they are a great value.

    So I’ve been using one of your 3 round mags in my 6.5 creedmoor and it’s worked perfectly for several years. Last range trip I was shooting a 3 round group and the last round was nose diving badly and the tip was jamming into front of mag. I messed around loading and unloading mag by hand for awhile and it started working properly again. Hopefully tapping the mag from now on will solve this issue from reoccurring. Love how smooth the rounds feed when it works properly.

      I'm glad to hear you got it working again. It sounds like there was some debris between the follower and the inside wall of the mag. By working the mag like you did you dislodged it.
      If it gums up again, don't hesitate to call us!
      Merry Christmas!

    I purchased my first MT magazines and am very impressed. I'm using a Boyd's stock that I pillar and glass bedded on my 270 WSM. The feeding is super smooth. If your action is bedded correctly and your bottom metal is properly installed, these will be the best mags you will ever purchase for your Tikka.

    A complete video series on tikka stocks, torque, pillars, recoil lugs etc is what I’m in need of. Then I’d like to see a series in triggers and springs.

      Yes. Run us through all the torque values for the different type of standard stocks that Tikka makes.
      It would also be nice that you set up some type of packages that we could order when we set up a Rifle. I’ve set up three tikka rifles with all of your aftermarket parts but some items I don’t want that you guys have on your packages. So maybe if you order X amount of dollars you get a percentage off

    Thanks for this. My short actions mags have been incredible never an issue with 5-6 mags in multiple rifles. I think your tips should help my issues with long action mags being a little inconsistent feeding. My 7mmRM sometimes won’t feed every time. I get a bit of a tipping or cant on the 2nd or 3rd cartridge feed. I will work these tips. Thanks fellas.

      Keep us posted, and do not hesitate to call us or email us. Rimmed magnums are finicky in mags because the belts sometimes stack unevenly. Making sure they are seated all the way back in the mag is essential for smooth feeding. Cheers!

    Just got a 5 round SA mag to match bottom metal. Factory stock. Mag won’t stay seated and falls out. What’s up with that?
    Factory mags work fine in the MT bottom metal.

      Tried to call today. Nobody there
      Gun is set to factory, used your bottom metal, torqued to same as original. Magazine will not seat and falls out.
      I’m returning. Not worth the hassle with factory mags much easier.

    Have you had any issues with Bell and Carlson stocks? I have sporter stock with your bottom metal. My 3 round mag has no issues, my tikka extended mag falls out every time I shoot. What might be the cause, except for the capacity they appear identical.

    • @mountaintacticalcompany
      @mountaintacticalcompany  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When B&C first launched their Tikka stocks, we had tons of problems. They've sorted most of them out. The main problem we see now is that they paint the stocks after they inlet them causing the rifles to seat inconsistently in the stock. If I had to guess, your action or bottom metal is sitting on some paint. The angle is wrong so the mag catch is not fully engaging. The added weight of the extended mag is just enough to overcome it.
      Check the inlet and make sure it is completely clean of paint. Also make sure your front action screw is not over torqued.

    I have bought one of the metal magazines(5round), it will not stay in the rifle. My Tikka stock mags click and lock just fine. The new metal mag doesn’t. I have a rough trek stock and T3x rifle. Bought new three months ago. Any advice?

    What I gleaned from this video is that no matter the issue is that it's the users fault (always) and never a Mountain Tactical defect (never).
    Hmm.
    I have a brand new, never fired Tikka T3X Lite Veil in 30-06 that I purchased one of your mags for.....it will NOT even seat into the rifle.
    I have the factory original 3 rounder that seats in fine and I purchased a 5 round Tikka mag that seats just fine.
    Mind you this rifle has never been fired, nor has a round even been chambered into it other than whatever they did at the factory.....I don't even have a scope for the rifle yet (should be arriving in a few days). The rifle has only received a quick cleaning via 2-3 patches down the bore....it has not been apart.
    Why will the mountain tactical mag not even seat into the action ?
    Is this somehow my fault ? You certainly make it seem like it must be if this video is to be believed.
    One thing is for certain, I will not be purchasing anything mountain tactical again....and am sorry I did purchase the one mag that I have.

    • @mountaintacticalcompany
      @mountaintacticalcompany  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is not at all what we were trying to convey. 100% of the mags returned work in our factory rifles here at the shop. Because we want people to have a great experience with our products, we put this video up to help people troubleshoot their mags.
      What you are experiencing on a brand new rifle is strange. I’d love to try to figure this out for you so you have a great experience with it.

    • @jamesroberts1800
      @jamesroberts1800 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mountaintacticalcompany And again you reinforce your stance (100% of returned mags fit in our factory rifle)....perhaps your factory rifle is no longer in spec ?
      I honestly don't give a flying fu

    • @mountaintacticalcompany
      @mountaintacticalcompany  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Or maybe Tikka did not torque the action screws to spec? Or they changed molds for their mag catch because the old injection mold wore out and WE need to change the tolerance on the retention notch on the magazines WE make?
      Tikka tells no one when they change a spec on their rifles. This leaves anyone making aftermarket components at the mercy of kind customers who kindly let us know something is different.
      We were the first company to bring a billet bottom metal to market. 2 years later, Tikka changed the design of their magazines and, since they are under no obligation to do so, told no one. Suddenly our mag catch on our bottom metal would not retain the new magazines.
      What did we do? We changed our mag catch and replaced the ones that did not work with customer’s mags.
      There are thousands of variables in manufacturing. Unfortunately, there is no crystal ball to know when variables change.
      At the end of the day, we want everyone to have a great experience with our products.
      If you want to be part of the solution, we would love to work WITH you to make that happen.

      @@mountaintacticalcompany I just tore the thing apart and checked VERY closely as to what the problem is.
      Your mag will not fit in the receiver at all, the front edge of your mag is too squared off (i.e. the radius isn't right) so there is no way in hell it will fit unless I put a piece of bar stock maybe .375 or so into a vise and peen the shape of the magazine nose area to fit the contour correctly.
      The slot in the bottom of the receiver has a taper from about 1" rearward of the front edge (if that makes sense), it's a slight taper, but it's there and your mag does not have it.
      Remember, this is a brand new T3X Lite Veil Alpine in 30-06.....so there ya go.

    • @mountaintacticalcompany
      @mountaintacticalcompany  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s strange. All Tikka actions are the same and that radius on the front of the mag hasn’t changed yet. Very strange. Can you email us some photos of what you are referring to? Info@mountaintactical.com
