I've been bullied all the way from year 6, and I'm in year 11 now, by people who I thought were my friends. I guess when you're young you don't know how to handle it and it just all gets stored inside you, and it wasn't until year 8 when I started letting all this anger and hurt and just everything out by cutting, I just didn't know how else. I did tell my parents about what was going on with the bullying but not about the cutting (and they still don't know, no one does), but they didn't know how to help and there was nothing they could do. They contacted the school, but the school did absolutely nothing about it and it carried on, and it stills does. This song and many songs like this helped, cause I found out I wasn't the only one and I wasn't so alone, but in many ways that didn't really help. I guess I found different ways to cope with it, I made new friends who look out for me, and I learnt how to stand up for myself and how to laugh stupid horrible comments off. There are still days now when I do cut, cause sometimes things get too much or it's just been a really bad week. But when I get older I want to get 2 tattoos to remind me of these days and how I never want to return to them, one saying "Stay Strong" cause those 2 words have helped a lot, and also "Never Let It Get To Your Heart" cause that is the best piece of advice I ever got from someone. And if you're getting bullied or anything just Never Let It Get To Your Heart, when someone says something horrible about you, instead of letting get to you straight away, think about what they say and if it's not true (which it won't be) just don't let it in and laugh it off, cause you are the one who controls whether it affects you or not. I hope I have helped one person out there :)x

Reading through all these comments helps me to realise that I am not alone, and this makes a really big difference to the way that I feel (which is depressed). Most of you guys seem to feel the same way I am feeling or are going through a tough time. It is so hard to get through life when it only takes one person to do one little thing or say just one negative word to bring me down. I guess I am fragile, because little things will break me down. It is tough, especially when you are the unfortunate one who is targeted by others just because you may not be confident or have the 'desired look'. Increasingly during my high school years I have been questioning the purpose of living when the world is cruel and judgemental. However, it is the fact that there are still good people left in this world which keeps me going. I just want to say to anyone who is feeling down to try and hold on and realise that there are always people who will be there for you, even if it doesn't seem that way all the time.

I was too, being insecure of my looks, afraid of being fat, and being scare that i couldn't fit in, there was this time when i'm afraid just to eat too much and ended up eat once a day and barely finish my own food. There were a lot pressure of being perfect and to gain attention when you start high school. But demi's song helped me to escape everything's that hurted me. This reminds me of this one time where I was hanging out with my friends and we couldn't find one of the girls in our group. She was comforting someone because someone told this person to go kill themselves. I remember getting super pissed because even though the girl who was told to kill herself was someone I didn't particularly like, you don't say that to someone. This song reminds me of that feeling because I feel horrible for the people who do feel that low. You aren't alone.

Reading through all these comments helps me to realise that I am not alone, and this makes a really big difference to the way that I feel (which is depressed). Most of you guys seem to feel the same way I am feeling or are going through a tough time. It is so hard to get through life when it only takes one person to do one little thing or say just one negative word to bring me down. I guess I am fragile, because little things will break me down. It is tough, especially when you are the unfortunate one who is targeted by others just because you may not be confident or have the 'desired look'. Increasingly during my high school years I have been questioning the purpose of living when the world is cruel and judgemental. However, it is the fact that there are still good people left in this world which keeps me going. I just want to say to anyone who is feeling down to try and hold on and realise that there are always people who will be there for you, even if it doesn't seem that way all the time.

This song means SO much to me because I have been through so much in the past 2 years of my life and 3 if I'm including this year, and I have had the worst self esteem issues lately and almost started cutting, I scratched myself everyday and I would just not be happy with myself and the year of 6th grade (I am in 8th now) was probably the WORST year of my life because I got bullied and I was always exclude from everything and I just have never loved myself ever because no one else have ever showed me any reason to ever be alive. But about just a week ago I went to this song after so long of feeling like that and I listened to Demi's other songs and I realized that if demi got through all of her issues that she went through then so can I. Demi is my idol, my role model and my life because she literally (a long with my best friend) saved my LIFE and that means SO much to me, so I just wanna say one thing: this song and "Warrior" mean SO much to me and does Demi, I wish I could thank her for this song and warrior someday because I am soooo thankful for her and I love you Demi sooooooooooooooo much and I am SOoooooo glad your pretty much all better now, thank you for everything always stay strong and everyone stay strong always because it's not worth it to cut or not eat or any of that NEVER do that because somebody loves you; Demi does.

I was too, being insecure of my looks, afraid of being fat, and being scare that i couldn't fit in, there was this time when i'm afraid just to eat too much and ended up eat once a day and barely finish my own food.
There were a lot pressure of being perfect and to gain attention when you start high school. But demi's song helped me to escape everything's that hurted me. I hope she's fine and get the strength from everyone who loves her, just like i did.
For the people who are feeling so horrible and have a very sad life, don't let sadness, fear and hatred get into you so much, be strong, keep fighting and you'll find help to be in a great, happy life. I used to listen to this song in the mornings before school in junior high..I'm in college now. Time flies.
This song helped me out through a very rough spot, where I was losing myself. I played this song for an hour while I just cried. I couldn't thank Demi enough because she gave me the strength I needed to stay clean from my eating disorder and it's an amazing feeling and she's my idol. I can't wait to see her live on the 22cd.

Don't let that stop you! I self harm, and have been clean for 11 days. My parents found out and are sending me to therapy tomorrow. It wasn't my choice, and I'm terrified, but it's part of my story. I'm determined to give it a happy ending....I think. You're your own author! I'm sure demi didn't think she would be such an inspiration when she was battling her demons. Life gets better! I've had a really hard time since I was 12. at home, at school things weren't going so well. I never had a lot of friends because i never really fit in. I was Always an outsider. I've had an eating disorder and even considered taking my own life. But I didn't ... because somewhere i hoped. I hoped things would get better. And they did! This song saved my life
This reminds me of this one time where I was hanging out with my friends and we couldn't find one of the girls in our group. She was comforting someone because someone told this person to go kill themselves. I remember getting super pissed because even though the girl who was told to kill herself was someone I didn't particularly like, you don't say that to someone. This song reminds me of that feeling because I feel horrible for the people who do feel that low. You aren't alone.
